We spent 10 days in the Riverbend cabins (December 2011 - January 2012). And in one word I can say that everything was PERFECT. 1. Location: 20 min. driving to the University and the downtown in Fairbanks. 12 min. to the supermarket in Fairbanks or in North Pole. 50 min to Chena Hot springs. 2. The place really beautiful. Everything snowy and so quiet. I suppose in summer it is also very beautiful. 3. The cabin (Sourdough) so cozy!! 100% clean. Warm. Perfect for a couple. 4. The owners - wonderful people. 5. Of course we will stay there again and again! I think we were really fortunate to find this cabins!

My Alaskan winter has been complete with my stay in this little "Oasis" the Chinook Cabin at Riverbend. There are not enough positive adjectives to describe how wonderful this place really is. The cabin is very well appointed, decorated perfectly, cozy and just plain adorable. It is situated on the river in a peaceful and tranquil se...tting which was very relaxing and quite enjoyable but there were many exciting things happening as well. There were fireworks over the river on New Years Eve, dogsled teams running over the frozen river, Aurora viewing from the balcony, Momma moose and her young in the yard, plus Santa and Mrs Claus paying me a special visit during the holidays! Wow, what more could you ask for? The attention to detail and the genuine kindenss from the owners, the Hanson's, have made me feel extremely comfortable. My stay was everything I hoped for and MORE! I cannot wait until I can visit again, Thank you Debi and Bruce!

The Cabin is a wonderful place to stay, just located 20 min away from Fairbanks. Chena hot Springs is a 1 hour drive. North Pole is just 10 min away. The land in front of the Cabin and down to the river is cleared and the Cabins are away from any lights which may hinder the sky view, so it is a perfect place to see the aurora borealis, an experience we will never forget. Everything was absolutely perfect. The hand crafted Log Cabin is very clean and lovingly furnished and has a full stocked kitchen. Everything you need you can find there. The Owners Debi and Bruce gave us the feeling from a home away from home! They are the best hosts at all. Kind and helpful at any time but gave us lot of privacy as well. We are 4 girls from Germany and stayed in the Chinook Cabin from March 18, 2011 through March 27, 2011 and truly we did not want to leave!

This cabin was FANTASTIC. Plush bed with soft sheets, a dvd player and tv for movies while waiting for the aurora borealis to come out. Fresh locally roasted coffee for the morning (yum!) which we enjoyed in large mugs while on the front porch swing. The property is -right- on the chena river, and it has a wood burning sauna! the location is 15-20 minutes away from a wonderful brewery/restaurant, an hour away from chena hot springs (horse back riding, a museum made entirely of ice blocks). I hoped I had made the right decision in coming to Fairbanks for the northern lights, I heard it can be a gamble on getting a clear night but I was not disappointed. You have to be diligent though, staying up between 11pm-2am to keep checking for it. I came back to seattle feeling rejuvenated, well worth it. I don't think any hotel could even compare.

Sourdough Cabin was perfect for us as we were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniv and the cabin surpassed all of our expectations! The cabin was a true log cabin and decorated beautifully! The bed was soooooooooo comfortable and the grounds were gorgeous! We picked raspberries off of our deck! Our hosts provided our Gold panning gear and we had a Blast at Pedro Mine site. We enjoyed the Howling Dog Saloon, Silver Gulch Brewery, Chena Pump House Restaurant and Chatanika Lodge for dining and music. The North Pole and Tanana Valley Farmers Market are great stops too for Alaskan souveniers and foods. We LOVED Fairbanks and hope to return again soon! God Bless!

We stayed in the Chinook cabin from February 27, 2010 through March 4, 2010. We were very pleasantly surprised with the comfort of the cabin. It was a home-away from home. All the cozy comforts you could ask for. Debi and Bruce were very helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay here if you're looking for a quiet and relaxing time. Plus, the location is ideal because you can easily go to downtown Fairbanks, Chena Hot Springs, Fox or North Pole. Great place to stay!

We stayed at the River Bend Bed and Breakfast for two nights in December and it was delightful. Debi and Bruce were very professional and there to help us and answer all our questions but gave us plenty of privacy as well. The Setting was near enough to town but far enough away that we had perfect silence in the evenings. Some of the best sleep any of us have gotten. The cabins are right on the river and we although we did not see any wildlife, we saw plenty of tracks on the frozen river each morning. The Cabins had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. We bought groceries and ate mostly home cooked meals using the utensils and cookware provided. There were even spices and extras we hadn't thought to bring. If your visiting Fairbanks for any reason, the Riverbend Bed and Breakfast is a great way to feel right at home.

Upon arriving at our Sourdough Cabin, it appeared just as in the picture from the website - it is quaint and very, very comfortable! We have stayed in several cabin B&Bs on our travels throughout Alaska - the Riverbend B&B cabin is the best! They are very comfortable, built "tight" and had wonderful views/access to the Chena River and beyond. The radiant heating made for extrememly comfortable cabin living! Bruce's smoked salmon was divine! The guided snow machine ride along the Chena River and the Yukon Quest trail was outstanding! We noticed the attention to every detail - everything was provided for our comfort. Debi's breakfasts were awesome! The blueberry parfaits were outstanding as was the Morning Glory Muffins (thanks for your recipe, Debi!). Debi and Bruce are excellent hosts and were available to direct and answer all of our questions. We love Alaska, we loved sharing our time with Bruce & Debi at the Riverbend B&B - and will be back for another visit!

Our stay at the Riverbend Bed and Breakfast in Fairbanks, Alaska completed our honeymoon. We could not ask for a better location in the Fairbanks area. We took the train from Denali National Park to Fairbanks. Upon our arrival to the Riverbend Bed and Breakfast, we were warmly welcomed by the owners. The location was near several trails and hot springs. We anxiously wait until we can return to Alaska and stay at the Riverbend Bed and Breakfast. What a romantic and relaxing place, thanks for completing our Honeymoon! Kim and Jeromy Huntington Colorado Springs, Colorado
