Oak House was a clean and well maintained property as promised. The floor plan made it easy to compartmentalize activities without disturbing the rest of the group. The pictures did not fully portray the quality features of the home and property. It is actually bigger than pictured! With three older teens, the full size pool table, game room excellent swimming hole and fishing dock kept them busy! A boating rental place delivered a boat to the property free of charge. Will definitely return next summer.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

"We had a great time and the Oak House was perfect for our family. They loved the pool table, the pin ball machine, and all the board games. We laughed and played together late every night. And they loved the water at that location on the lake. No fast boats going by...no jet skis zooming by...just the peaceful water around those rocks. It was a perfect place to swim together and play in the lake without any worries. Anyway - great house - great accommodations - great memories. Thank you so much." “The pictures were great, but they did not do it justice”, “I didn’t realize it was so big”, “The view is absolutely gorgeous”, “We had no idea this area existed, what a find!”Did you find this review helpful? I had a bad experience with this property. On the day of our rental, I called to get the lock box code. The manager in charge of renting the property insisted that I had the wrong dates. I had printed the dates legibly on the rental agreement/payment contract and verified with the management company via telephone and email prior to the stay to confirm the dates. In the midst of attempting to find some resolution, the manager hung up on me. I called over and over to get a response and no one answered. Finally, all I got was a busy signal. The manager finally emailed me on my blackberry about 2 hours later with the lockbox code to let us in with a very sarcastic comment. Because it was the day of and we had no where else to go at the last minute, we ended up staying at the property despite the humiliating treatment we received from the manager. The whole process was a nightmare I'd rather forget. I WOULD NOT recommend this property because of the managment company.Owner response: We bent over backwards for this customer!!! We allowed him to rent three of our homes close together for a "business retreat". We normally do not rent for "events" such as this, however, he was a return customer and he pleaded his case well. In all of the numerous phone conversations with this individual and email correspondence, he wanted two specific nights (after advising him that one night stays are not possible). After sending him the Rental Agreements for all three homes, he emails us that he really only wants one night and would it be possible to come in early in the morning, stay one night, then leave late the following day - after we already told him he couldn't do a one-night stay. He stated "why can't we come early and stay late the following day if you don't have any renters coming in before or after our stay". We had to again advise him that it is against our policy, that we will not let him come in hours early, stay hours later...for only a one-night charge. Days went by, then he emailed again asking if everything was "a go". I stated that I needed to know if he was willing to do a two-night stay. He finally agreed. Now, in that whole time frame - the dates were set, on my original paperwork, on all email and verbal correspondence, etc. I finally received the rental agreements, scanned and emailed to me. The "issue" he is talking about is as follows...on the agreements he sent to me, the dates were changed...checking in one night earlier. He did not mention in the body of the email that he decided to change the dates. On the day of check-in, he called asking if he could check in early. I said his check-in wasn't until tomorrow and that is when he flipped . He raised his voice at me, and was extremely sarcastic. I stated that I didn't have to take that kind of treatment and hung up the phone. I emailed him that the homes would be ready, even though we weren't expecting him until the following day. And, I texted him the lock box code. It was not hours later! It was about 20 minutes later and they were able to check-in Early! They broke several of our policies during their stay - the whole group (about 37-40) gathered at one of the homes almost the entire time! That home has a Maximum of 14 guests. Per contract we are allowed to evict them because of this...but we did not bother them one time. Their cars were rammed in the driveway, even a few on the lawn! They also stayed well beyond the check-out time, against our request.
