Cottage Raggio Di Sole: You can take a bus from the airport of Naples Capodichino directly to Sorrento, or a taxi from the airport to the station at the center of Naples. Then the train (Circumvesuviana) for Sorrento.
If travelling by car:
From Naples, take the A3 freeway towards Salerno, then exit at Castellammare di Stabia. Follow the signs for the Sorrento Peninsula and the signs for Sorrento. After arriving in Sorrento, take the road for Massa Lubrense; from here, continue in the S'Agata sui due Golfi direction, along Via Massa Turro, until you see a fork in the road for the village of Schiazzano. On the left is the small country road that goes to Raggio Di Sole, If requested, once arriving in the main square of Massa Lubrense (near the church and town hall) we can meet you there and take you to the accommodation.
Raggio di Sole is a comfortable country cottage surrounded by olive, lemon and peach trees. The accommodation is situated on a hill that separates the Gulf of Naples from the Gulf of Salerno, is 3 kilometers from the nearby village of Massa Lubrense and 8 kilometers from the world famous resort of Sorrento. This area has been a preferred holiday spot for many years, with those wishing to visit the many tourist destinations including Positano and Amalfi, Sorrento and the islands of Capri and Ischia and Pompei, Herculaneum and Naples, just to name a few. Raggio di Sole offers you the chance to be near enough to visit all of these wonderful places but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists to enjoy a holiday in the peace and quiet of the countryside, surrounded by lush leafy vegetation, flowers, home grown vegetables and fresh country air.
The cottage is 85 sq. meters and can sleep 5 people. There is one bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with a double bed and single bed, a bathroom with shower, and a living room with sofa, armchairs, television and from the living room a glass door opens onto the garden area. The kitchen, with table and chairs for meals, includes electric and gas burners, oven, fridge freezer and washing machine. The furnishings are simple and rustic. Winter heating is available. Outside, there is a patio and garden with an above-ground swimming pool (which is 6 x 3 meters) and parking space. The patio and garden in front of the house are equipped with tables, chairs, and deckchairs.
This is an ideal holiday accommodation for families, as the cottage is inside a fenced area, very private and children can run around, exploring freely or playing in the little swimming pool while adults sit and relax nearby with a book and a glass of wine.
It is also perfect for who enjoys walking and hiking as the area is famous for its breathtaking views. There are signposted paths that lead you along the rocky coastline above the sea and there are little coves and inlets along the coast that are only reachable on foot or by sea.
Shops and restaurants are at a distance of 1 kilometer from Raggio di Sole and the nearest bus stop of the SITA buses is about 600 meters away. The SITA bus service links all the towns along the coast and enables you to easily reach the many beautiful towns and archaeological sites in the area.

We stayed at Il Raggio di Sole 5 nights and we really had a wonderful time there. The house is very comfortable and suitable to stay for family with children. It has 2 big bedrooms, a salon, a kitchen, and a patio with lemon and olive trees. There is also a swimming pool in a yard. The flats are tasteful decorated and in reality the interior looks even better than on photos. Overall a wonderful place to stay and can’t be compared with a standard hotel accommodation. The house itself is located in very quiet place. If you go there with a car, please read other posts and don’t try to go with a big one – the road is very narrow and somewhere steep. But that’s not a particular feature of this house; the same is true for almost all houses in Massa Lubrense which are distanced from the main roads. Sorrento is easy accessible (within 15 min) by a car or public bus. The owners (we met Raffaele and Maria) are very nice and pleasant persons. We always got help when asked some advices. Overall we had a wonderful stay during our short vacation. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone, who wants to reside away from overcrowded tourist areas.
Owner response:Dear Edward, thank you! Raffaele & Maria Sincerely, Lucia,(Maria's sister)

We just returned from 5 nights at Il Raggio di Sole". We had great time there! We were four (us and 2 boys 12 & 16). The house location is it's greatest advantage but one can see it as it's greatest disadvantage. We think it was in a perfect location in spite of the difficulties in accessibility . The house redefines the phrase "far from the madding crowd". It is located at the end of a very narrow ally on the outskirts of the small village "Massa Lubrense". First tip is, if renting a car, be modest with it's size. The whole area of Amalfi coast, let alone the surrounding of the house, does not fit for a big car. The ally leading to the house is in steep and narrow. One can reach the house by car but he should be either skilled or brave. Anyhow it is 5 minutes walk from the main road where you can park the car. The house itself is very comfortable; it has 2 big bedrooms, a salon, a comfortable kitchen, and a patio. There is a gate leading to the car park, a pool (was closed when we were there-it was too cold), and a yard with some trees and stuff. The house is furnished with what can be taken as "the family's furniture" which gives a very homely atmosphere. The "service" of the owners was fantastic. We met "Raphael" near the church in Massa Lubernse and he showed us the house. His son, Antonio came to see if everything is ok, and every wish or question was answered promptly and politely. The house is very quiet and well located, in the middle of the way between Sorrento and Amalfi coast. The kids loved the house because if has some specially attached to it and was deferent from a standard rented house, let alone any hotel room. Finally we had a wonderful vacation in a wonderful house in a wonderful area
Owner response:Thank you, we look forward to meeting you again soon, Lucia & Maria, Raffele, Antonino !

When we first started searching for a place to spend a month in Campania, we didn't know what we were looking for. Eventually we did find a place that looked promising and though the pictures on the Internet were small, it had all the space we needed to spend a month on the Sorrento Peninsula. When we finally scrambled up the narrow access road, following our host, Raffaele who had met us in the center of Massa Lubrense, we could scarcely believe how fortunate we were. Il Raggio del Sole is a very substantial, immaculately maintained house, probably built of tufa and coated with a layer of stucco. It is painted an appealing yellow, has modern mahogany doors and windows and the floors are tiled throughout. The kitchen has new cabinets, stove and sink as well as a clothes washer, and has all the equipment necessary to prepare meals in house. There are two large bedrooms, bath and two outside terraces ready for hosting meals. We especially enjoyed the small terrace under the avocado tree off the living room. The house is gated and is very private. This is not in a heavy tourist area. It is about two kilometers up the hill from Massa Lubrense. There are active farms around Il Raggio and many attractive houses set to maximize the glorious view of the sea. The grounds are filled with fruit trees and flowers of every kind. This is the center of the limoncello industry for Italy and besides olive trees there are lemon groves everywhere you look. But this is only part of the story. While we negotiated the rental with Lucia Gargiulo, we never actually met her. Instead, we were met by Raffaele who, with his wife Maria own and manage the property. It is difficult to imagine two more helpful, pleasant and caring individuals than these two. They are long-time residents, know where to shop, eat, and get help of every kind. After the first few days of helping us settle in, they left us on our own, but appeared pretty much every day to ask if there was anything we needed. These visits often included a basket of fresh fruit or vegetables and to the very end of our stay, we had the feeling of being well cared for and having someone at hand ready to help out. When we left, we were leaving two very good friends. In short, the accommodations were perfect for four of us and we used the house as a base to visit throughout the peninsula. It is important to know that the peninsula is extremely hilly, if not downright mountainous. Almost the entire coast is precipit
