Treat yourselves to our home nestled in the rainforest of beautiful El Valle de Anton, Panama. My caretakers are very attentive and will help you in anyway they can.
A piece of Paradise: has a two bedroom, one bath house that can accommodate up to 6 people. It is fully equipped including walk in shower that has a tankless hot water heater system (You don't run out of hot water), standard fridge, inside washer and dryer, a six burner stove plus micro wave, etc. Everything you might need to cook with, extra towels, hammock, outside chairs, carbon grill.(ask for the grill, it's kept in the shed).
The grounds are landscaped and very relaxing. It has a river that wraps around it and at a point runs through it. With its flora and fauna, it is a great place to take walks and explore. Since it is a little higher than town it is cooler at night and very pleasant in the day. Area has some of the best birding around! Wild pheasants, toucans, falcons and many more roost on the property. Gorgeous Blue Morpho butterflies along with various other species can be seen daily. This is a great place for environmentalist and birders looking for rare find or just enjoy nature. Don't pay the big bucks to go birding or insect hunting when the excursions are done right by this property and you can do it for free as many times as you like.
We provide: A cell phone, a little laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee, sugar, salt, soap, shampoo and conditioner, dishwashing liquid, sponge, garbage bags and you may use what ever spices are there.
For people who need an immediate reservation day or night dont hesitate to call. For those who want direct inquiries here are directions to my caretakers house in El Valle.
As you come into El Valle there will be a grocery store called Centro Comercial de El Valle on your right side. Immediately following a small bridge you will take a right. That road should be called El Hato. You will find a place called Bartilitos on your left side ( it is a construction/materials type place) take your immediate left after that. Gisela and Carlos Greco's house will be on your left. It is a light orange house with an aqua green roof, it will be the first house on your left. For direct reservations or short notice we can only accept cash.
While in El Valle you might want to visit the Sleeping Indian, Cloud forest, Canopy ride, Serpentarium, thermal springs, Painted rock, zoo, go horseback riding, ride the bus system good and cheap way to see El Valle, indulge at the local spas, eat at Pinochios (a pizza place open Thurs-Sun), Bruchetas(awesome), Gourmet Food and Coffee, or Casa de Lourdes (RESERVATIONS REQUIRED). If you want to go less expensive but good (Tierra y Mar) is a nice spot. Don't forget the fresh market or local arts and crafts center at the center of town that is open daily, extra venders come on the weekend.
My caretaker can act as a guide to the sleeping Indian or local spot. Also a relative is a top birder and a professional tour guide to different areas of Panama. Mario Bernal speaks English and is a available for excursions with prior reservations.

Thank you for sharing your home with us! After the trip up from Panama City, what a wonderful surprise to arrive in such a beautiful spot. The sloth was kind enough to be visible in his tree. Our grandsons found lots of places to explore and we enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching the mist blow through the hills. We'd love to return someday and would recommend your home to anyone looking for a lovely, relaxing spot.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My family and I wrapped up a two week trip to Panama with a visit to this property and we couldn't be happier that we did. The house has a garden that many would pay money to visit. It is beautifully cultivated and yet still manages to make it feel that you are deep in the forest. We saw many beautiful birds and butterflies while we were there including three toucans and numerous Blue Morphos. There is so much to do in El Valle, I wish we had planned to stay longer. Make sure you leave time to have your morning coffee on the patio area and watch the valley wake up. The property is as advertised and, while we were worried that we would be too hot without A/C, the temperature was perfect. My husband and son did notice the humidity, but we are accustomed to a drier climate. It didn't really slow us down at all though. The photos are great, but really don't do the property justice. The caretakers are wonderful hosts who are very helpful in suggesting things to do and making sure you are happy with your surroundings. The owner was helpful and professional and I would not hesitate to recommend this property.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

It was love at first sight. My husband and I travel alot, but usually stay at all inclusive resorts. This was our first time to actually be a part of the community and I highly recommend it. The house was everything listed in the discription and more. The house and property were very clean and well maintained, with Carlos (the caretaker) coming out just about everyday and keeping us supplied with fresh bananas that were absolutely yummy. I loved waking up in the morning with a pot of coffee and sitting outside watching the birds and butterflies seeing new something new everyday. Valeri was very, very helpful with all our concerns and quick to answer any questions we had. She even loaned us her truck to get around while we were staying in El Valle. We cooked several meals after buying fresh shrimp and fish from the local fishmonger's truck, plenty of dishes and cooking utensils to prepare any meal you would desire. But, enjoyed eating out in town at several of the local establishments---very good and more than reasonnably priced. Took a day trip to San Carlos to the beach (first black sand beach I've ever seen and lots of sea shells). Watch out for the hermit crabs. Enjoyed visiting El Macho (waterfall), the local zoo, going to the open market and meeting all the interesting and colorful people of the town. Ty's sport bar is a great place to meet expats who have made El Valle their home full of information and tips. I would highly recommend El Valle and this piece of property for a truly relaxing vacation experience. Hope to visit again and again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We liked the house very much. It was very comfortable and well appointed. It was nice to relax on the porch outside too. Fireflies at night! The grounds and trail were great. The little town had good food in the restaurants, stores and bakery. Wifi at the library. We liked the museum, ziplne, thermal pools, marketplace, kids in school uniforms and all those horses, dogs, and chickens everywhere. Caros and Gisela took good care of us. We'll be back one day!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We recently returned to Minnesota after spending 2 weeks in El Valle at this Piece of Paradise! It truly is just that. It is such a beautiful, relaxing setting. The house is very comfortable, the grounds are amazing, and the weather is perfect. The pictures do not do it justice! We enjoyed watching birds, butterflies and wildlife. It is close enough to town to be able to walk but yet far enough out for lots of privacy and quiet. Carlos, the caretaker who greeted us and took us to the house, was extremely helpful and answered any questions or inquiries we had. He also gave us suggestions on things to do in the area. We found lots of good restaurants in town plus made multiple trips to the market to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables to cook at the house. The kitchen was stocked with all the cookware and utensils needed. If, or more likely when, we return to Panama we would surely love to stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Hi Valeri, We had a great time in El Valle. Gisela and Carlos are very nice. Next time we'll probably opt for a place a little warmer, but we will certainly keep your email for a possible re-visit. We took some pictures but the ones you have on the website are better. We are attaching one of the hillside. All the pictures don't quite capture the full beauty of the site and the pleasantness of the house. Thanks again. Rod & MarieDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hi Valerie, Just a quick note to let you know that we are back in PC. Had just a wonderful time at your beautiful ""casa" and in and around the town of El Valle. Carlos and Gisela were wonderful and we both enjoed getting to know them at least on a perfunctory basis. I put 38 miles on the truck, late lunches and trip to zoo. Thank you so much for the use of it, it was great. I walked soooo much through the woods and down into the beautiful area near where Carlos lives. Met a lot of folks, even met someone, didn't get their names, who knows you and I think your brother or close relative. Anyway, they knew the house. I saw a sloth way up in a tree who stayed around for a couple of days, could almost see it from the porch. Anyway, thanks for the use of the truck and the cell phone. Didn't even make a call. We loved your place and felt so at home their. Talk with ya later, paul david and wandaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

This was a lovely family destination to stay at. Our son is involved in a bird project so the whole family spent lots of time hiking the property (adjacent to the river) and environs to photograph birds! (I have a new respect for bird photographers!!!!). It was lovely. Here are a few tips that we'd wish we had known: * The caretakers are lovely but do not speak English (brush up on your spanish) * You need a car as it's quite a distance from the main town area; preferably a higher clearance vehicle (we had a mid-sized family sedan which bottomed out quite a bit on the road into the property) * El Valle was very wet while we were there - in dry season! Take rain gear, especially shoes * Toilet paper and soap are provided but nothing else. Fortunately we had supplies from our Panama City VRBO so we didn't need to buy too much at the Chinese Supermarkets (a very underwhelming experience) * Other: We did not get a cell (as mentioned) but we didn't need it. There is currently no ability to get internet (again, not a problem for us) Overall, a wonderful experience and one we're pleased we did. Thank You!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for commenting. This year rainy season lasted way longer than usual. Sorry about phone usually people ask or Jisela asks, it was an over sight, phone is definitely available. Distance by car is about 5 to 7 minutes, we have walked to center of town on many occasions and it is about a 45 minute walk. Last folks stayed 2 weeks without a car. We can make arrangements for in town travel or you can learn the mini bus system and travel that way, of coarse your own vehicle is best. A car can be used but you are right lower to the ground cars are not recommended. In the future I will make sure extra items that come with rental are there. The Chinese markets are cool that is part of the Latin American experience. LOL.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Awsome place to relax and be as loud or quiet as we like since there is quite a bit of property. Great place to hike and see so many birds, plants and enjoy nature. Dry season brings on so many fruits, plants and flowers to fascinate those who appreciate the rainforest.
