My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at The Mermaid House in March 2012. After spending a week in St Helena we wanted to end our vacation in a special place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We were SO happy we chose The Mermaid House. The owners were wonderful as we contacted them before our arrival andthey had a fishing pole ready for my husband to use upon arrival! The house is more than we imagined, wonderful decor- unbelievable views - you are right on the water! We found something new each of the 3 days we were there. The weather was a bit cool but did not stop us from our daily hot tub/glass of wine on the deck. We enjoyed dinner (fresh oysters bought right down the road) at the dining room table nightly overlooking the water. We took a drive to the Pt Reyes National Seashore and enjoyed stopping in Tomales Bay. Very quite area, just what we were looking for. Looking forward to making this a yearly stop!

What a wonderful way to spend our 25th wedding anniversary! Great meals, horseback riding, hiking, lots of raw oysters…. And the best part – staying in the Admirals Suite at the Mermaids House. Beautifully decorated. Attention to detail. And so private and peaceful. We hope we can return to this little piece of paradise! Thank you so much!

What a lovely, relaxing weekend! We came up to celebrate Bret’s 30th and get away from the city. We lucked out with a hot sunny day on Saturday. We watched the sunset with a bottle of white and an amazing spread from the Cowgirl Creamery – heaven! I jogged up to the Marshall Store and was offered a free sample of an amazing oyster for breakfast – yum! We went back later for more. This place is so cozy and inviting – we will be back! The mermaids house was absolutely perfect for a weekend get away from the city – it really is like another world out here! Every little detail of the house is perfect, down to the fresh cut sunflowers on the kitchen table! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful home with us!

Dear Karen and Fred – After 5 days of enjoying the magnificent views of the bay, the quietness of the surroundings, the comfort of the house, relaxation in the hot tub, it is now time to pack up. We have thoroughly explored the Point Reyes area. Seen a big herd of tule elk from close distance, many deer, seals (even from the deck!) birds of many feathers (including a king fisher). But it is obvious that this area needs more time to really explore: what a beauty and splendor! Thanks for sharing this with us. P.S. I forgot to mention the beautiful garden!!

What an incredible find! Thank you so much for sharing your Mermaid House – Admiral Quarters with us. It is truly unique and we were constantly discovering nautical decorative items. The location is perfect. It was a great opportunity to “unplug.” We will be back!

Thank you this is a wonderful house and it is easy to feel at home here. We really enjoyed the view of the bay; bird watching and spotting the occasional seal passing by. Being lulled to sleep by the sound of the water just underneath our room was a real treat. This is one of the most relaxing vacations we have been on in a while and definitely a place we’d like to return. Next time I think I’ll bring a fishing rod and try my luck off the dock. Whether you are seeking a getaway for respite and relaxation or outdoor adventure, the Mermaid House offers the ideal atmosphere with an absolutely stunning view and positively serene location. The decor of the home is uniquely designed and provides the image of being on a ship with all the spacious comforts of a cozy home. The nautical theme creates a feeling of being lured away to a far away destination. Awakening in the morning to the rising sun and seascape view, was truly delightful. The privacy of the deck offers an opportunity to experience solitude, soak up the sunshine, and spot sea life swimming in the bay. The hot tub offers a romantic escape underneath the star lit sky. This accommodation is a perfect destination for a special celebration with friends, romance or a rekindling of the soul’s body and spirit. I look forward to returning again sometime, as the home hosts insured our visit was enjoyable and comfortable. Thank you for helping to make my birthday truly memorable.

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing home on the bay. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing this area of California for the first time. We especially loved ‘lo’ tide and seeing some jellyfish and an amazing starfish living on your pier. We enjoyed our Sunday coffee with a visiting seal. We can’t wait to come back.
