Our home, built as a stagecoach tavern, then purchased by my great grandfather Benjamin Nye, in 1867 has welcomed guests for many years. I am proud to be carrying on that tradition as we celebrate our 10th anniversary welcoming guests and families to Nye's Green Valley Farm.
Our home is located in the heart of the Green Mountains, 10 minutes to Smugglers and within a short drive to several other major ski areas, fine restaurants, shopping and Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Burlington and the Canadian Border are an hour's drive away.
The rails to trails path is in our front yard for X Country skiing, snow mobiling or hiking. Winter activities include all that come with snow including sleigh rides and winter campfires under the stars. Summer activities include sight seeing both on and off the beaten path, hiking, biking, swimming, shopping, antiquing and sitting under the maple trees watching the llamas, goats, sheep and mini horses in our pasture. When the yard is not covered with snow, it is filled with perennials.
The finest restaurants in Vermont are within a short drive. There is something for every budget. And if you want to roast a hotdog or marshmallow, there's an awesome fireplace pit with a circle of Adirondack Chairs.
The house is set up as a duplex, so when there are guests visiting, we each have our own space and privacy.
An all-you-want Vermont Country Breakfast is provided and included in the price. Farm fresh eggs, homemade bread, muffins,coffee cakes, pancakes with blueberries from our garden and meat await you in the morning. Coffee, hot chocolate and tea are available all the time.
Other meals can be arranged for an additional charge.
