Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2006

My husband and I are both in real estate and from the moment we set foot on this property we knew there was no turning back. Peace and tranquility at its best! No more boat houses can be built on Lake Placid so it is a rare property. The 800 sq ft deck provides a 180 degree view of rhe Lake and White Face Mountain. The purity of the lake is an amazing natural resource and provides the drinking water for the Town of Lake Placid. Our children are grown and we also like the idea the property can be expanded upon to create a larger family compound in the future as our children start their own families.

Why the Owner Chose Lake Placid

The fact that the camp is boat acess only is one of my favorite parts about this home. We are a quick boat ride into the marina for shopping, errands, great restaurants, movie theater and all the activities offered in the beauiful town of Lake Placid and the surrounding Adirondack Mountains. Unlike many other Lakes in the Adirondacks everything you need is within minutes away. You can actually walk into town from the marina. Many people bring their bikes. Although sailing and small motor boats are allowed on the lake, jetskis are not allowed

The Unique Benefits of this Lodge

We find the most difficult thing about staying at the camp is forcing ourselves to leave Buck Island. The peace and natural beauty is difficult to describe. Fishing is wonderful, especially in early spring and fall. The sound of the loons calling ,water splashing upon the rocks and watching a family of ducks swim by and grow thru the season is endearing. We swim right off our dock and there is a little beach area for kids to wade in the water and from which to launch the sunfish, canoe and kayaks. I must admit we seldom go out for dinner as we like to cook (new stove 2011) and grill and enjoy our deck with what our friends call "the million dollar view". If you are searching for a vacation to spend quality time with family or friends and decompress from your hectic life style this is it! By the way, the sun rise is spectacular!!

Recipe for the Perfect Vacation

Guest: Brian & Julie G (Victor NY)
Date of Stay: 06/01/10 Review Submitted: 06/14/10

Sitting on the gorgeous deck, watching the moonlight on the lake -- waking up to a family of ducks swimming near the dock -- roasting marshmellows down by the water's edge -- reading a book by the fireplace while the kids play on the sandy beach -- these are the ingredients for a perfect vacation. You really can't help but to fall in love with this lake house. And every year, we arrive to a bottle of wine, some local magazines, s'mores for the kids, and (one year) even a toy for our dogs! Jeanne and Art know how to make their guests feel welcome. My family and I have made some wonderful memories here and we cannot wait to come back!

Owner response:Thank you so much for your kind review! We actually have some celebreties staying this year-shhhh! We were able to get there this year in April and water already getting warm. Who knows, maybe you need a fall get away:) Thanks so much! Jeanne

A Little Bit of Heaven!!

What a wonderful place to recharge! I would highly recommend this rental. Camp Trout point is such a great location on the Lake. It is well appointed and the owners are a pleasure to work with. Lots to take advantage of boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking and a short jaunt to the marina to head to town. Our favorite though was just sitting on the deck day or night enjoying the water & views of the surrounding mountains. We'll be back for sure!!

Heaven!!!

This is a beautiful place to recharge your batteries and create memories with your family. We had such a wonderful time. The place is spotless and has excellent amenities. No skimping on quality here! The kayaks and canoe are fun but it's hard to beat sitting on the deck over the water and watching the beautiful boats go by. The views are postcard perfect. There are great restaurants in town , gourmet shops for carrying out and a fully stocked first class grocery store. Hiking around Buck island was fun and we heard that Whiteface was a terrific place to hike and see the views but we had a hard time leaving the deck and dock!! Can't wait to go back! Next time we'll try to catch a concert at the gazebo in town. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful home.

The Perfect Lake Placid Retreat

Guest: JCPBKNY (Brooklyn)
Date of Stay: 08/09/08 Review Submitted: 05/23/10

This beautiful home made our vacation to Lake Placid over the top. Whether you spend your days kayaking the lake or sun bathing on the sweeping deck you'll feel utterly relaxed by the idyllic landscape that surrounds you. Pictures won't do this place justice; it's something you have to experience in person to understand. I can't wait until I have the luxury of going back.
