My family and I stayed at this cabin for two nights and had a wonderful time - wish we could have stayed longer! I love the west shore of Lake Tahoe - this cabin is located near Sunnyside which is between Tahoe City and Homewood (one of our activities was taking the water taxi btw those two locations). The cabin is a very comfortable space and as other reviews have stated the stove is fabulous to cook on (as well as a nice supply of spices). There were five in our group plus our dog (added plus to this cabin - dog friendly) and room for more. Nice big table for family dinners, two hammocks and nice fenced outdoor space. Walk to beach was close and the beach was dog friendly. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend to others.

We had a wonderful time in this cozy cabin. Perfect dog-friendly beach just a short walk through the woods and across 89. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. Very nice sheets on the bed, nice newer towels and very clean. The best part was the fenced area - our pup and son were able to play and the adults sat on the deck relaxing and talking.

This Sunnyside log cabin is the perfect family getaway retreat property. We stayed for a week and the accommodations suited us perfectly. The place is cozy and has all the amenities one needs to stay 'plugged in' just enough. My hubby loved that they had Apple TV and that we could access our Netflix, while my son and I enjoyed the yard and nearby hiking trails. The fenced in yard was perfect for my sister's dog, and my Mom was able to access her New York Times subscription on her iPad through the wifi set up in the house (you can take the gal out of the city, but not always take the city out of the gal). The location is perfect for visiting several State Parks, and access to the Truckee River and Tahoe City is close too. Even a day trip to Squaw Valley or a boat excursion like the Tahoe Queen are all within reasonable driving distance. For those that just want to hunker down, the cabin is a perfect place to rest and relax while taking in the amazing trees surrounding the property. There are hammocks outside to swing in, and the numerous windows of the cabin make you feel like your outdoors even when you are inside. It's a short walk to the lake from the cabin. Hurricane Bay is close, but for those looking for a sandy beach, you'll need a car or bike. Lugging gear to the beach is not practical if you are going to hit the beach closest to the house, and its a rocky beach. For the days you don't go to the lake, there is a great children's playground two blocks away. There is a community center there too. It was closed when we stayed at the cabin, but I imagine that would be a great option for folks with kids. Last thing...best stove I have ever had at a rental. We cooked at the house every day, three meals most days. Kitchen was fully stocked, and that was a real bonus. The outdoor BBQ was awesome, and dining outside was greatly enhanced by the huge table and benches on the property. If you are looking for a rustic place to get some R&R, then this Sunnyside cabin may be just what you are looking for.

My family loved this cabin, We were specifically looking for a cozy cabin to take our kids to the snow for sledding and fun, and that is exactly what we got! The property had plenty of open space and snow for the kids to play. The hot tub, updated appliances, Wifi, Apple TV (great for the kids) and fenced back yard were a plus. The cabin location was great. Close to sledding (lots of sleds in the garage that you can borrow), skiing and Tahoe city. Finally, Vanessa was a pleasure to do businesses with, she was prompt and helpful in answering questions and providing tips. We would definitely recommend this cabin to others and can’t wait to come back.

Great cabin. Wonderful balance of rustic "Old Tahoe" charm with updated technology/furnishings, etc.. Very, very comfortable; a place where you can truly feel at home when away from home. Convenient to the Lake, Homewood, Sunnyside dining, and a short drive to Tahoe City and great sledding at Granlibakken. We are already booked to return in a couple of months for another ski trip and will no doubt look to return on future special occasions. The owners clearly love the place and enjoy for it themselves!

I grew up spending my summers and winters in the Tahoe Park area. This cabin has allowed me to share this incredible area with my kids. The cabin is great, rustic, cozy and comfortable. It is not fancy, but a classic old style Tahoe rental, with the an excellent array of features. It is fully equipped with everything you need from kitchen items to wood for the fire. The hot tub is a HUGE bonus and the owners are very cool about well behaved dogs. The fireplace is amazing, wireless works flawlessly, driveway is always cleared and beds are comfortable. I really have no complaints... I am just grateful to have found this place and that the wonderful owners and kind enough to share it with us!

My partner and I spent the weekend at Vanessa's wonderful cabin and could not have had a better experience! The cabin was clean, well maintained and cozy. It really feels like Tahoe "cabin" should. We didn't have a whole lot of snow and ended up staying at the cabin all weekend snuggled up in front of the fire and hanging out in the hot tub. It was perfect. We can't wait to go back again! The kitchen has everything you will need and a fabulous new gas stove ! The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. You really can't ask for more...we loved it!

Having just returned from a wonderful weekend in Lake Tahoe, we cannot say enough good things about this cabin. Our party consisted of two families with two kids each ages 9 and 7 and our labradoodle pup. The cabin is set up perfect with two masters for the adults and a wonderful kids room that sleeps four children comfortably. For eight people it was cozy but never felt crowded. The cabin is in a little neighborhood, but yet has a very private feeling to it. The kitchen has everything you need and is actually more spacious than it appears in the photos. The jacuzzi was a wonderful way to relax and warm up after a day of skiing. No need to bring your sleeping bags, the beds and bed linens could not have been more warm and comfortable. We skied at Homewood which was less than 10 minutes away. It was perfect for our beginner children skiers and also fun for the adults and no lines. We enjoyed one night out at Sunnyside restaurant that was only a 4 minute drive. Even though the home is "dog friendly" there is no sign or smell that a dog had been there before us. We loved the fenced in back yard where the dog and kids could safely play for hours in the snow. We couldn't recommend it more for a winter getaway and we are looking forward to checking it out this summer!
