Enjoy tranquility with surrounding beauty in a world of its own in the Roan Valley approximately six miles north of Bakersville, North Carolina. Wake up to spectacular views of Roan Mountain and surrounding peaks. Rock or swing your stress away on the covered back porch from which you will often see deer or other wildlife. Enjoy coffee or a good book on the large deck surrounding the front of the cabin listening to the mountain creek that runs through the property and feeds two small ponds on the property.
Bring your horses, and take in other views from horse back. There is a barn with three large stalls and a two-acre fenced pasture that surrounds the cabin.
Hiking on the Appalachian Trail is less than ten minutes from the cabin, easily accessed at Carver's Gap. A short and easy hike from there provides views of five states on clear days.
Nearby Bakersville is home to numerous craft vendors with world-famous Penland School of Crafts within a 25-minute drive. Spruce Pine, Banner Elk, Asheville, Johnson City, Boone, and North Carolina ski areas are within 45-90 minutes. This is an ideal place for family and friends to escape the fast pace of culture and be refreshed with rich fellowship, taking in creation at its best. |
