Thanks for allowing us to stay at your Molokai home for 6 nights in February. We LOVED the lanai especially, and appreciated the well stocked cupboards, the extra touches like magazines and cookbooks, the Molokai decor, and your personal Island directory. The washer and dryer was handy, the location beautiful, and our visit was so relaxing. We hope to come again soon - again, thank you.

My husband and I spent 3 nights in this west side retreat. The condo was in beautiful shape, though dark. We needed to keep lights on during the day which seems strange in Hawaii but the condo is surrounded by vegetation. We would have like to have had more openness. The lanai was beautifully decked out with quality loungers, chairs and tables. One could nap and read for hours here. The bathroom has a shower and nice tile. The condo is great for a couple but more would be tight. I am 4"11" and had to ask my husband to get dishes from the cabinets as they were extremely high. It would have been nice to have a step stool. The owners provided many beach items such as chairs, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, etc. The beach is just a 2 minute walk and the days we were visiting there were high double overhead waves which my surfer husband and the local boys loved. Overall it is a very nice condo. Be sure and stock up with groceries before arriving. The nearest shop is in Manaloa 10-15 minutes away. The shops are also closed on Sundays.

This property was much more than we expected. Sleeping to the Quiet sounds of the Friendly Island in the very comfy King Bed, walking 2 minutes to the beach each evening to watch what seemed like our private Sunsets to toast another day, was Amazing. Their are plenty of hiking/ runing trails right out your door. Beautiful white sandy beaches, that have only your own foot prints. This home was perfectly stocked, with beach towels, ice cooler , snorkels and even a guide of activities and landmarks to help explore the island. The owners were very helpful and knowlegable with all of our questions, all in all very easy to book our unforgettable vacation. We've recommend this property to all of our friends and family , infact our friends/neighbors back home on the Mainland are visiting this Condo right now. Its Perfect for anybody that enjoys the beauty of the islands of Hawaii, Molokai takes you back to a time forgotten! We are planing our next visit, to this Amazing Hale' (condo), we felt so far removed from our busy hectic lives the moment we both walk through the front door! mahalo ~ carol and jerome
Owner response:Thank you Carol and Jerome! We love to hear that others enjoyed C3 as much as we do! Mahalo!

This condo is amazing. The openness of the condo is wonderful and the lanai is awesome! We absolutely LOVED relaxing on the lanai in the chaise lounges in the evenings with a book and a glass of wine. We loved the pace and the seclusion of the island, and having this condo to come back to every afternoon/evening was great. The condo is very nicely furnished, with everything you need and more. The info binder in the condo with directions to beaches, grocery store info, and other activities, is incredibly helpful-- especially if its your first trip to the island. Curt and Laura, thank you for allowing us to spend our honeymoon in your wonderful condo!!!
Owner response:Thank you Lauren! We are so glad you had a wonderful honeymoon at C3! We feel like it is a honeymoon every time we return! Laura and Curt

This was our second time to stay at the condo. Last year we came to Molokai for a few days and stayed here, and decided that next time we would have to come back for a longer visit. The condo is very lovely, with hardwood floors and high ceilings, but what makes it so wonderful is how all the doors fold back to open up to the most amazing screened in lanai. Curt and Laura have furnished the lanai wonderfully with chaise lounges (where one can view a glimpse of the ocean), conversation area, and a dining table that is wonderful for meals. We logged long hours on the chaise lounges! The lanai is away from the parking area and is surrounded by tropical greenery so is quiet and semi-private, and when the trade winds blow through it is magical. In our opinion, this complex is the best on Molokai, and this the best condo in the complex! If you are looking for lots of shopping and nightlife, Molokai is not the island for you. But if you are willing to slow down, to enjoy the outdoors and nature, and to accept the laid back lifestyle the local residents insist on, then you will be richly rewarded. Molokai is truly "the friendly isle" if you accept it on its own terms! Mahalo Curt and Laura for sharing your wonderful piece of paradise with the rest of us. I can't wait until I have a chance to return!

I had such a wonderful vacation in Molokai! The condo is comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and shaded by beautiful tropical plants. The kitchen has everything you would have in your own home to make cooking very easy. The condo has a wrap around porch that literally wraps around the entire condo! I was able to fall asleep listening to the ocean. The condo complex has a lovely, well maintained pool. The owners have created a book to make it easy to find all the local beaches and places of interest. I went to a different beach every day! This is Hawaii's best kept secrets! If you are looking for wall-to-wall t-shirt shops, traffic and crowded beaches, this is NOT the place for you! But if you are looking for the preserved tropical paradise for restoration of mind, body and soul, this is the place! Mahalo!

My wife and I just returned from a great two weeks stay at this charming Paniolo Hale condo for our 40th wedding anniversary. For the special night though, we had made prior reservations to stay and dine at Hotel Molokai. Mistake; we couldn’t wait to return to the lanai at Curt and Laura's wonderful condo! Everything is as described and more. Beautifully decorated and well equipped, the setting is perfect. Molokai is a delightful throwback to Hawaii of the 1950’s. We had plenty of time to wander the island and the mule ride down the cliffs to Kalaupapa is a must do adventure! As first time visitors to Molokai, the owner's comprehensive write up about the island's attractions (provided before our stay) was very helpful. We are already looking forward to a longer stay next year!

We had a wonderful time in your beautiful condo. We are sure, that we come back to Molokai some day, but would like to stay longer next time. One week is not enough!! We love the beaches, landscape and much more we love the honest and friendly people. One day before we had to leave Molokai I recognized that I couldn’t find my traveller checks. We looked everywhere but they were lost. So we asked ourselves where I could have left them. Several days ago, we bought something at the “Wine and Spirit Shop” in Kaunakakai. So we went there to ask if somebody had found them. And I couldn’t believe it, these people in the store found them and took them to the police after waiting a few days. I was so glad and thankful that they took care of my traveller checks. Next day – our departure day - we could pick them up at the police department . This was one of the good experiences we had with the Hawaiian people living on this island.

We stayed at this unit (C-3) in September 2010 on our second trip to the island. Some parts of the Kaluakoi development were run down when we drove by in 2006 but we did not see Paniolo Hale. It was nice to see that the complex was lovingly cared for by several gardeners who work on the property 7 days a week. The property is very lush, especially in comparison to the other two condo developments. All of the shade helps keep temperatures cooler. There is also a caretaker who lives on site which is nice. A security guard is there on weekends to limit access to the parking areas to guests. The beach is just a short walk away and is popular with surfers and bodyborders. With the decline in travel to Molokai we were curious as to how many people would be staying on the property. Only 6 or 7 units seemed to be occupied out of the 40 or 50 that seem to be there. That was great because C-3 opens up and is meant to catch the trade winds. That is pretty typical as there are few rentals on the island with AC. There are only a few negatives I can say about our stay. The first is out of the hands of the management and is due to the dead gold course surrounding the property. The recently refurbished pool area had signs up blaming the golf course for the bees. There were a lot of them in and around the pool. One owner said she was stung in the neck the day before. Most of our swimming was in the ocean but just a word to those planning to make use of the pool in the dry season. Another negative was the lack of fans. There is one ceiling fan in the living area but having one overhead in the bedroom would've been nice. There was an oscillating fan in the bedroom that did not work. I informed the owner when we returned of the problem but have not heard back as if this was being fixed. One last thing is more of a suggestion. We made two light dinners and a few light breakfasts but began seeing roaches on our last day. That goes with living in Hawaii so it was not a big deal. My suggestion would be for a self-closing trash can in the kitchen that is airtight. If you are really concerned you can take the trash out to the nearby garbage area. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay and you can see that by the amount of repeat visitors they have. Also take a look at the availability calendar and the log when checking in. C-3 had one of if not the highest amount of visitors. The kitchen is well stocked and all the beach gear is a big plus. Mahalo for sharing your home!
Owner response:Thank you for your comments. The grounds are beautiful and lush. We enjoy all the fresh fruit growing around the condo. The gardeners do work very hard and I'm sure they would appreciate your comments. We appreciate you letting us know the fan was broken. We stayed in the condo directly prior to you and never turned it so we did not know it was broken. We leave all doors open to the bedroom and the lanai 24 hours a day to better catch the trade winds. Our housekeeper has purchased a new one. An airtight trash can is a great idea. We use small grocery bags for trash and therefore take the trash out every day. The bees have been a problem since the golf course closed. They are actually improved due to the persistence of our manager, John, in locating bee hives and removing them. I'm glad you finally found the sanctuary of Paniolo Hale on the west end. We felt very lucky to find such a shaded, tropical hideaway in 2006. Mahalo for sharing!

I just wanted to thank you for renting your home to us for a really special anniversary celebration and fabulous week on Molokai. We've been back a week now, and though we're thoroughly ensconced in our ordinary activities, we have vivid memories of our stay. Everything was absolutely perfect. Even the not-so-perfect things (cracking a rib upon awkward reentry to my kayak, sitting on a wasp while resting on the trail back up from Kalaupapa) bring smiles. It's been a long time since we've had a vacation for just the 2 of us, and this was SO nice. Thanks again. You have a lovely home, and we really enjoyed staying there.

S. and I just wanted to tell you how much we're enjoying your bit of heaven here. Everything was spotless and beautiful when we arrived ..and we're doing our best to keep it that way :) ... without working too much ... the natural flow of life here seems to keep everything in the right place so, as all the guest comments say ..it really IS the way we should all live our vacations. The magic of the stars, ocean ~ wind and flowers all come together perfectly. Thanks again for having us ... we wish we could make time stand still ... but the next best thing will be to look forward to many future visits.

"As architects we were particularly impressed with the design of the condo-simple but well done. Very nice materials, well shaded but still light with skylights. The high ceilings and all the doors open to the porch made what was a fairly modest sized 1-bedroom feel quite huge! And being your own place of course the furnishings were really nice.

"We especially enjoyed the decor of this well-equipped condo. Waking up in the twilight and enjoying the movement and soft sounds off the Lanai was especially soothing. The bed is so comfortable!"
