Best vacation home in the Cascades

This house is located in a very quite neighborhood in the woods. It is kept immaculately clean. The extra touches like the baskets of goodies under the bathroom sinks and the items for use in the kitchen really made it feel like home. The hot tub was very enjoyable and plenty big for everyone. It was so comfortable, I could have spent weeks there. We will likely go back for a longer stay in the future.

Enjoyed our visit to Packwood. This vacation rental was much more than we expected, was more like a cozy home. Been to many other rentals before, and this was much nicer than the usual! The house was immaculate, and the hot tub was a huge plus... we will be returning next time we take a trip to the mountain.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house in Packwood. The home had all of the ammenities we could ask for and appealed to the whole family. It is very safe, comfortable and quiet and a great place to stay when visiting White Pass or the surrounding areas like Mount Rainer Mt St Helens or the many lakes and rivers in the area. It is about a 20 to 25 minute easy drive to the pass from here. The owner was also very professional and easy to work with. We will definately stay here again. Cruiser's Restaurant was a nice spot for Pizza and other food when you don't want to cook.
Owner response:Just say....Thank you for the great review. We take great pride in our house and want it to feel like your "home away from home." We'll look forward to having you stay with us again in the near future!

We had such a wonderful weekend staying in this house nestled in the woods. The house surpassed our expectations, one of the cleanest vacations rentals we have ever stayed at. The beds were comfortable, and the house was spacious. It had all the comforts of home, a fully equipped kitchen (better than mine at home!), cable TV, Xbox 360 located in a den off the living room. We were going to go out and explore the area, but we ended up staying at the rental most evenings relaxing in the hot tub and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. I would recommend this rental to anyone.

This place was better than we expected, even with the detailed pictures. We love Packwood and have stayed at many places and found that the Cowlitz Vista house was hands down the best. From the location to the over the top cleanliness and all the wonderful extra perks like the hot tub, the wonderfully huge deck that faces into the woods which was frequented by a majestic herd of elk! They even had an xbox 360 for the young and young at heart! Everything that you could ever possibly need was supplied and all three bedrooms were nice and big and nicely appointed. I can't say enough but I will say two final things, Chirs the owner was great to work with and very accommodating from start to finish and don't forget to give Cruisers Pizza a try just down the road into town, great Pizza! We would recommend Cowlitz Vista Retreat to anyone who expects quality, this place delivers in every aspect! We will return every chance we can escape!
Owner response:Thank you so much for your kiind remarks. We strive for excellence, and want our home to be " your home away from home". Chris and Denette Neville

We enjoyed this property very much. We are a family of four - with two sons in their early 20's. They thoroughly enjoyed it as well - especially having WiFi ability for their lap top! Chris, the owner, was easy to work with. You could tell the pride of ownership as the house was VERY well taken care of and provided everything you could possibly need. It was comfortable and homey with plenty of space and everything it was advertised to be. We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi after some long days of hiking! Mt Ranier is somewhat remote, but this house as well as Packwood is a good location with several restaurants and a small grocery store. Would rent it again!

We rented this house so we could take our two boys along with us on our 15-year wedding anniversary. The house was more wonderful than we could have imagined, clean and stocked. The house was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing; and we loved watching the elk in the back yard and coming down the road! We origninally planned on hiking Mt. Rainer all three days, but we found ourselves fishing at a local fishing hole and relaxing at the house instead. The boys LOVED the firepit! They did not miss camping at all...We had all the comforts of home and all the fun of camping! We would definately recommed this property to anyone and have already been discussing next year's family "get to gether" with our extended family and using the house!

This was the perfect house for a mountain getaway. My husband and I were so pleased with the cleanliness and comfortableness of the house. While it was just the two of us, the house was huge and would be perfect for a large family or bigger group. We also loved sitting in the hot tub and watching the elk walk by!

Thank you for a wonderful weekend in your beautiful home nestled in the forest, AND wake up to elk in the back yard (not too far from the deck) when you get up in the morning! The house is spacious and so clean, the hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking, the beds are so very comfortable - it was so serene and quiet - I was totally relaxed and ready for another week at work. Thank you!
