I stayed at Casa Carmelina with a group of friends. It was a perfect vacation. For those of us who wanted to explore, we could easily head off on adventures. Others preferred to stay by the pool and relax or go to the beach. The rooms are all very nice and there is more than enough space for four couples to feel at ease. The best part of our stay was Lucio, Olivia and Margarita. They are warm, welcoming and prepare wonderful meals with love. We had just about all of our breakfasts and dinners at the casa because their food was so good. The pictures and description on the listing give an accurate sense of the location. It is very private and yet close to town. The property is spotless and extremely well maintained. I recommend this property highly.

Casa Carmelina is located in the upscale section called the "Beverly Hills" of Puerto Vallarta, It is in the Conchas China and we were able to walk to town, going into town is easy and down hill, but late at night I recommend taking a taxi. Casa Carmelina has four beautiful bedrooms with the king sized beds were very comfortable. There is a nice tiled pool. the house has filtered water. It is great place for 4 couples to hang out, playm take day trips, and still come back home to a full service dinner that has been prepared for you. The house is spotless, super clean with marble and tile floors and a huge open air living space. It has a great kitchen but we didn't have to cook :-) beautiful living room, dining room and it even has a great bar. Lots of room to roam and dance and have privacy as well as together time, never feel crowded. With the ventilation, and ceiling fans, we really didn't feel the need for air conditioning. We danced a lot, with a great sound system to plugin our ipod. There is an ocean view. It is not ocean front, but a short walk to the beach and you can swim and snorkel nearby. The house comes with 3 staff members, they cooked and cleaned, made the beds and and tended to our every need. We learned that Lucio has been with the house for many years, he treated us like royalty. He took us to the fish market one day so we could pick out our own fish. He is an amazing cook, ask him for his signature barbecued ribs with his secret sauce....yum. The staff cooked and cleaned and pampered us. They gave us the receipts for great fresh ingredients that they bought daily, it was all very reasonable. We felt good about leaving a generous tip, because the service was so good and we saved a lot of money by not going to restaurants. The decrition is accurate and actually better in person. we took day trips by bus and one day went to Yelapa. We are going back again this year.

Muchas Gracias. We had a great time for my 50th birthday. The house is just as described. The pool a welcome dip in the afternoon after walking the town and parasailing. The cooking, delicious, we loved eating in so much (and very reasonable cost!!!). Plenty of room for everyone to relax and not feel crowded. Lucio, Ramona y Margarita took care of everything wonderfully. Four couples of 50+ year olds enjoyed 7 nights of paradise. Easy walk to the beach, Daquiri Dick's is a wonderful restaraunt. Such a treat to have desaunyos ready each morning...chilequiles and chile rellenos to die for...the BEST fresh orange juice and fresh fruit ever!!! If Kelly will have us, we'd love to make this a yearly Birthday treat for me!! Remember to haggle the price of goods in the PV stores to get 25-40% off stated prices.

A special place
A special place
Casa Carmelina has wonderful old world charm. I loved the stone, wood and tile work and the huge arched doorways that were always open to the ocean breezes. The staff is amazing--warm, gentle, gracious. They will make you feel at home. Plenty of wonderful food choices and we even got to go to the fish market and choose our own seafood. Each room in unique, has it's own bathroom and all open with huge windows or doors to the outside. The "master suite" has an amazing tile bath/shower and a wonderful balcony overlooking the pool and ocean in the distance. Plenty of common space. The ambience is special and pulls you into slowing down while you are here. Magical!

The time we spent at Casa Carmelina is still a memorable imprint on my families lives. My teenage children still talk about what a great time we had and keep asking Dad when are we going back. Aside from a beautiful home, Lucio, Olivia, and Margerita were the key people who made this vacation unforgettable. If you are thinking twice about going, don't....this is the place you want to stay for a vacation of a life time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Carmelina! We have been to Puerto Vallarta previously but stayed in a hotel and found the spaciousness and location of Casa Carmelina much more enjoyable. Add to that, the generous hospitality exhibited by Lucio, Margarita and Olivia and we had 10 glorious days that could not be surpassed.

This was our first major trip anywhere and we are now spoiled for life. Casa Carmelina was beautiful and Lucio, Margarita and Olivia were wonderful. Puerto Vallarta was great but our delicious meals and time spent at the house is what really made the trip special. I can't wait to go back someday.

I can't begin to describe what an amazing time we had in Puerto Vallarta and especially at Casa Carmelina. We looked forward to the meals that Lucio would cook up for us. He was so accomidating to whatever we wanted and whatever times we wanted to eat. Margarita kept our rooms and the house spotless. We felt so at home with Lucio, Olivia and Margarita. Lucio even helped us call to arrange some tours. We had full access to the bar with a blender and fridge right there whenever we felt the need to make a margarita or pina colada. It has only been a few weeks since we left and we miss Casa Carmelina already!

Hi, Kelly, Deb and I just wanted to send a personal thank you for allowing our family to utilize Casa Carmelina as the setting for our daughter's wedding on January 5. Our time at Casa Carmelina was extraordinary, and Lindsey commented that it was the wedding of her dreams. Poolside became our sanctuary, and a flight of pelicans encircled the altar as Lindsey and Jason said their vows--and our photographer even caught that moment on film!!! The house was just wonderful, and Margarita and Olivia kept it and the grounds spotless. As extraordinary as the house was--it was Lucio, Margarita, and Olivia who made our experience unforgettable. We cannot say enough about their hospitality, their kindness, and their attention to meeting our every need. Also, how do I say this? My step-dad is a high maintenance person, but Lucio, Margarita, and Olivia never batted an eye, and met his demands with seeming ease--they must be saints! The food was fabulous, and I would recommend Lucio's cooking to anyone. Olivia was so engaging, and she was bound and determined that I would be able to communicate with her in Spanish--what a good teacher. Margarita was everywhere, and really paid attention to the details in our rooms. Lucio went above and beyond and took care of everything--from various illnesses, to taxi reservations, and even saw to the wedding cake. We had things almost before we asked for them. Kelly, you are blessed with a superb staff! We feel so blessed to have enjoyed Casa Carmelina for our daughter's special event. It will exist in our memories forever--however Deb and I hope to book it again with some special friends. We know it will be a class experience for everyone. Thanks again for all that you did for our family. Dan and Deb Austin

Our first trip to Puerto Vallarta was fantastic. We LOVED Casa Carmelina. The location is perfect, the beach was close by, and the home is absolutely wonderful. The bedrooms were spacious, the pool was crystal clear and the set up was awesome, but the best part was Lucio, Olivia and Margarita. Their hospitality was second to none. The meals they cooked were fabulous and they were always available if you needed anything. We enjoyed our walks along the beach into town and all the fun things to do there but mostly enjoyed relaxing at Casa Carmelina with our friends. Kelly was a great help with all of our questions and went out of his way to help us with everything. If we ever visit PV again we would DEFINITELY stay at Casa Carmelina again. Highly recommended by us. Thanks for the wonderful vacation memories.

November 2006 was my third visit to Casa Carmelina and it was even more wonderful than before. You see, Lucio, Margarita and now Olivia, are like family to us. They have shared in wedding photos, meeting our children and now sharing in pictures of our grandson. It is like a journey over the years and we so look forward to every opportunity we have to be at the wonderful villa and share time with our fabulous hosts and friends who are always there. The food is spectacular, the home exquisite and the overall feeling of welcome and family is something you can't get anywhere that I have ever been. Thank you always for sharing with us and being happy to see us time after time. Te quiero mucho Lucio, Margarita y Olivia Kim Zavala

What a vacation! We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Carmelina. It more than exceeded our expectations. Lucio, Margarita, and Olivia were terrific. In other reviews, we read what a great cook Lucio was, and it was so true. Everything he cooked was incredible. We were truly pampered. I would highly recommend Casa Carmelina to anyone. If we visit Puerto Vallarta again, we are definitely staying here!!

Our week at Casa Carmelina was pretty close to heaven! We took our three children, spouses and grandchild and each one of us had a marvelous time. We enjoyed time just relaxing around the house and pool the most. Lucio, Margarit and Oliva made our week complete. They seem to know what we wanted before we did and took care of all our needs! It was a wonderful experience.

I just can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my vacation in Puerto Vallarta with Casa Carmelina as a base. The villa is lovely and the view of the ocean is great. We were particularly fond of the walks along the ocean from the villa to the downtown area. The staff, Lucio, Margarita, and Olivia, is most gracious. They took excellent care of us and made our stay extraordinary. The meals provided by Lucio are outstanding!!

What a complete pleasure. We stayed at Casa Carmelina in July of 2005. We had four couples, it was perfect. Lucio, Margarita and Olivia are beyond description. All are gracious, courteous, helpful, always friendly, just absolutely wonderful. All couples had the best vacation ever. Lucio could open his own restaurant quite easily. Fabulous food, spectacular views, gracious staff and Puerto Vallarta, what more could you want? To came back next year and do it all again, which we are in the process of planning. Thank you so much for a terrific vacation.

Lucio, Margarita and Rosa were key ingredients to making our vacation week at Casa Carmelina a wonderful memory. Our family of seven (all adults) enjoyed our time in Puerta Vallarta and at Casa Carmelina very much. It has been three months since our stay and the memories and stories are fresh on all of our minds. Lucio and staff are gracious and talented. Casa Carmelina is a beautiful home that was so enjoyed by our entire family. Making the arrangements for our stay with Kelly Conners was informative and easy which was much appreciated. We look forward to returning in the future!

A week long slice of heaven! We were a group of 6 and this was our first experience with renting a home so we didn't quite know what to expect. What am amazing first experience! The house is beautiful and well laid out. We had plenty of space to be together or to have our alone time. The very talented Margarita and Lucio are absolutely wonderful .. unfailingly patient, resourceful, and accommodating. The food was to die for .. with the side benefit of all those wonderful smells eminating from the kitchen all day long! Our vacation was fun, fun, fun!

Hi Kelly, On behalf our group, I would like to thank you one last time. Everything at C.C. exceeded our wild expectations. The house, food, atmosphere, bedrooms, pool, location, staff / service, just EVERYTHING was phenomenal. Our favorites on the food were the ribs, the avocado salad, and believe it or not, the burgers. Maybe we were just ready for something American. We will probably never get a hotel or condo again, as the house with a group of 8 people was so economical. And we all had just the right amount of privacy, too. All of my interactions, emails, phone calls with you were pleasant. Thanks for being flexible ( Papal, date changes, etc..). Lucio told us about how you or your family send him to wherever each September. I wish you were my employer. You sound like a true class act. I can guarantee you that when we come back to Puerto, we will be staying at Casa Carmelina. I left a red binder at the house that has a bunch of great info on Puerto restaurants(Le Bistro was my favorite),taco stands, coffee places, etc.. Hopefully some future guests will find it usefull. Thank You So Much! Mark & Soraida, Ron & Stephanie, Bob & Fran, and Paul & Tanya

We just returned from spring break and already are dying to get back. What a great way to celebrate a girls spring break. There were 8 of us and the house was perfect in everyway. Lucio cooked amazing meals and each meal was better than the last. I would recommend the chile relanos, tamales, shrimp and chicken kabobs as well as the banana cream pie. The refried beans...to die for! Rosario and Margartia did a fabalous job of keeping the villa spotless and made us feel like princesses for a week. We will definitely all be back in the near future as a week at casa carmelina was to pampering to pass up again.

Eight of us stayed at Casa Carmelina. The house was perfect for eight people. We had a wonderful time. We did not want to leave the house during the day. We stayed by the pool as much as possible. The food was excellent. You must have the ribs. Lucio, Margarita and Rosa take such good care of you. The house is spotless. We only ate out once and that was on Sunday. We took the taxi to town which cost us 4 US Dollars. We walked into town also. We are planning on coming back. I only have good things to say about our stay. We miss the afternoon chips, salsa and guacamole by the pool

We were a little nervous since it was our first time in a villa but it was beautiful and Lucio, Marguerita and Rosario made us feel right at home. I don't think I can say enough about how wonderful our stay was at Casa Carmelina. The Casa is beautiful, but what makes the vacation really special is Lucio, Margarita, and Rosario! They are the best hosts, and we miss them greatly. Our whole family came from both Washington & Alaska, and we had 2 2-year old toddlers with us, and Lucio was always so kind as to make the babies special eggs for breakfast--sometimes even a little early when they couldn't wait. Lucio is the best cook, ask for the Flan or the lemon pie they are awesome!!! You can't go wrong with your vacation here as PV is beautiful, and the kindness of the hosts is why I love Mexico so much---as everyone I meet there are always so wonderful. We will definitely try to do this again---as it was magical and I would love to see Lucio, Margartia, and Rosario again in this lifetime.

We have just returned from having our whole family at Casa Carmelina for Christmas 2004. There were 10 of us - our two sons, wives and 4 grandchildren ages 14-6 yrs. We all had a wonderful time and were pampered by Lucio, Margarita and Rosa. The food was wonderful and the casa is beautiful. Our family all enjoyed themselves so much. It is easy to get into town by bus as it stops right across the street. We never ate out as the food was terrific.

The food was out of this world and the staff was always accomidating. We arrived with our two teenagers and four college students that know how to eat you out of house and home but they definitly didn't go hungrey here. It was so relaxing, just setting by the pool and having Lucio's margarita's. We will definitly be back the staff and the house made this our best vacation ever. My most recent visit 15 years after my first visit was just as wonderful this time I arrived to Casa Carmelia with my family in tow my husband, two young sons, two sisters, a brother in-law and a niece and nephew. What a fantastic trip the place looked exactly the same even Lucio, and Margarita! The food was as tasty as ever! My boys couldn't wait for Lucio to announce breakfast every morning. We are definately planning another trip to Casa Carmelia and it will be sooner than 15 years.

I am currently experiencing Casa Carmelina withdrawals! My husband Jesse and I, along with two other couples just returned to California from a week at Casa Carmelina. The villa was much more than we had ever expected. It had such a feeling of "old world Mexico". It was beautifully decorated, clean and quiet. I am a little upset--- no one is making my breakfast, changing my sheets and towels everyday, or taking care of my every want or need any more, reality back in cold Chicago is not really paradise- not like I am accustomed to now that I have stayed at Casa Carmelina! Your casa is beautiful, and Lucio, Margarita and Rosa were wonderful, they took care of everything we could think of and more. Our vacation did unfortunately start out a little slow due to various illnesses, however your staff made it so comfortable for us during that time, and the last few days were perfect. We only wished we had a few more days...We will definitely be back, I wish much sooner that we will actually be able to work out. You were absolutely wonderful to work with through the whole process, and I have already recommended you and Casa Carmelina to many of my friends and co-workers. We hope to be back soon, send our thanks and appreciation to Lucio, Margarita and Rosa back in beautiful Puerto Vallarta! And my thanks again to you for all of the time and energy you put into making our vacation so wonderful and unforgettable. Hope to talk to you again soon! Kathy Chapman
