It is a place to get away with privacy and adventure of the outdoors on Cloud 9 Farm. Yes, that's right, this cabin is on our Conservation Farm with the owner living amongst this 200 acres...mostly woods but a valley to see our cows, swimming hole, chickens and U-Pick blueberries. All is on one level, with one easy step inside from driveway door. 15 foot high cathedral ceilings, unique hand-carved timbers (find the massive hand-chiseled dove-tail), mountain laurel accents and specially milled red oak-paneled walls, surround you in luxurious cabin-style that smells of wood. Enjoy air conditioning or the cool mountain breezes that Blue Ridge Mountains can brag about in the heat of summer. Groceries are just 3.5 miles away as well as a cute 'Local Joint Cafe' for meals. Request a breakfast layout or stocking of the fridge for a small fee. Fresh, farm eggs come with every rental.
Entering this 200 acres of invitation-only private estate, you will feel transported back in time, the way life should be. There are so many trails to explore, you could be entertained here without having to leave! 'Cocoon' right here ... fold down that futon and camp-style in front of the big screen TV/fireplace. Bedroom and bath are separate rooms in this 750 sq ft cabin.

What a wonderful way to spend our first anniversary! Heavenly Hideaway is the perfect cabin for couples. We enjoyed the hikes right out of the cabin and took both routes to Buzzard's roost (Ridge Run is definitely a leg burner!) Thank you for letting me take part in beekeeping-it really was a neat learning experience. This was such a peaceful and relaxing weekend- exactly what we needed! We are already talking about a return trip.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: You told me you also enjoyed the Eating Asheville Walking Food Tour. live bluegrass at Jack of the Wood and wonderful dinners at Zambra and Cucina 24. You did your research well before coming to Asheville!

We just got back from a 3 night stay at Heavenly Hideaway Cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. There is a nice deck on back with rocking chairs, a grill, and a hot tub. The kids had a lot of fun doing chores on the farm like feeding the chickens and the cows and gathering eggs in the evening from the hen house. We had fun climbing on top of the hay in the hay barn too. If you have time, definitely visit Dupont State Forest to see the waterfalls. We saw High Falls and Triple Falls and they were even more spectacular than we were expecting. Part of the movie "Hunger Games" was filmed at Triple Falls and Hooker Falls at Dupont State Forest from what I understand. We also enjoyed a bonfire with the family that was staying at the Cloud 9 cabin. Janet, the owner, was a wonderful hostess and made us all feel at home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners.
Owner response: Not to mention...a ride on the tractor and fixing the cattle gate as "fun" family chores you pitched in doing. We like it when vacationers get involved in farm life!

My husband and I stayed at Heavenly Hideaway for a week and loved every minute of it! The place is clean, private and super cozy. We loved the hot tub and all the hiking with our dog. Janet, the host, is awesome, very helpful and loved sharing her property with us. We had a great time and will be back. Good location, close to Asheville. Did I mention gathering freshly laid eggs! We loved Red Stag, Biltmore, Tupelo Honey and The Laughing Seed. But just being at Heavenly Hideaway was the best part of the trip!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Great recommendations for a special dinner out. Asheville prides itself on independent restaurants!

My children and I spend a wonderful couple of days back at Cloud Nine just after Christmas. They love feeding the chickens and cows, collecting eggs, sitting around the bon fire, making molds of animal paw prints and much more. Thank you, Janet for another wonderful stay!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My girlfriend and I had a really great stay at the Hideaway Cabin. Janet and Jeff immediately make you feel welcome and right at home - more than willing to give you a tour of the wonderful farm and all the sustainable elements on it - from the Blueberry patches to the Chicken house to the Cow pastures.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: And you were the first vacationers to help feed our 3 week old calf with a big, over-sized baby bottle. Thanks for posting the video of it on the Cloud 9 - Vacation Cabin & Rentals! I was impressed that our Heavenly Hideaway VRBO headline went half way around the world to be noticed by Liza who hopped on a plane to get here!

This is the second visit we’ve had in the past year and once again we are blown away by not only the cabin, but the farm as well! Anthony and I were so happy you called to include us in watching one of you cows give birth. It was a great experience and so amazing to watch. We had a great time walking the trails on the property, feeding the chickens and mainly relaxing, We couldn’t of asked for more on our honeymoon. Can’t wait to come back again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Heavenly Hideaway has again been our ideal getaway destination. This past week was our 4th consecutive New Year’s stay here and each has been special. Janet has created such a warm and welcoming place to unwind, relax, enjoy forest trails, plan area visits and more. The view from Buzzard’s Roost is worth the hike, so don’t forget to take a camera along! Nearby restaurant favorites include The Corner Kitchen, Rezaz and Pack’s Tavern. Thank you again, Janet, for all you do to make a visit to Cloud 9 Farms and Heavenly Hideaway so special. I’m sure many of you first-time visitors will also be eager to return!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Your fourth visit for New Years and you noticed I wrote "Welcome home" on the paper contract? You have become friends for sure. I like how you said when you came in that there is always something new! Let's meet again around the campfire for marshmallows.

Everything on the website was accurate. Our stay far exceeded our expectations. A short drive away from all the major attractions in the area or local farmers markets and stores. The cabin was perfect for a base to explore the area. Janet was very attentive and helpful. This place is a rare find! Something for everyone to enjoy.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: You came from so far so we are pleased that you felt everything was accurately portrayed...especially no other houses in site from the hot tub!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: Janet, here, your hostess at Cloud 9 Properties, LLC. You'll find me in the Blueberry Patch most of the time, because in July we have a U-Pick farm but the rest of the time I'm tending the plants. Our sing-a-long jingle on Cloud 9 Farm is 'Beds, Berries, Trees, Beef and Honey Bees' I guess you're most interested in the 'Beds' part, but the cows, chickens, pollination honey bees, and forestry management you might want to tour because it all makes Heavenly Hideaway a unique place. I live on the farm, too.
Why the Owner Chose Asheville:
My family home, Cloud 9 Relaxation Home, a ranch style home over-looking the Blue Ridge Mountain valleys of Fairview, just 15 miles SE of Asheville, NC has been completely updated and is the premier hilltop location for views and gatherings up to 8 people. But the cozy cabin, Heavenly Hideaway, in the woods, with a hot tub off the main driveway is where you want to be for a private couples get-away.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Besides the fun of watching the sun rise or early morning hikes on Cloud 9 Farm where you can hear the cows crunching on the lush grass in the pasture, see wood ducks or a blue heron fly in to investigate Peterson pond or hike the mountain trails...besides all that, in 15 minutes you can be on the Biltmore Estate or in downtown Asheville going to an eclectic local foods restaurant or get to Chimney Rock Park and Lake Lure for the afternoon. I recommend the scenic boat ride/dinner tour. In Asheville, you must see the Grove Park Inn and Spa for a lunch on Sunset Terrace or splurge on the spa. (But I do know some day spas, too, just ask.) Waterfalls? Ah, yes, just 40 min. on the Blue Ridge Parkway...Looking Glass Falls, but Dupont state park has 4 unique falls for a great day trip. And don't forget Sliding Rock, bring your oldest cut-off jeans to wear splashing.
