Heavenly Hideaway Cabin, Jan-Feb-Mar Best Biltmore Prices
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Asheville
My family home, Cloud 9 Relaxation Home, a ranch style home over-looking the Blue Ridge Mountain valleys of Fairview, just 15 miles SE of Asheville, NC has been completely updated and is the premier hilltop location for views and gatherings up to 8 people. But the cozy cabin, Heavenly Hideaway, in the woods, with a hot tub off the main driveway is where you want to be for a private couples get-away.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Besides the fun of watching the sun rise or early morning hikes on Cloud 9 Farm where you can hear the cows crunching on the lush grass in the pasture, see wood ducks or a blue heron fly in to investigate Peterson pond or hike the mountain trails...besides all that, in 15 minutes you can be on the Biltmore Estate or in downtown Asheville going to an eclectic local foods restaurant or get to Chimney Rock Park and Lake Lure for the afternoon. I recommend the scenic boat ride/dinner tour. In Asheville, you must see the Grove Park Inn and Spa for a lunch on Sunset Terrace or splurge on the spa. (But I do know some day spas, too, just ask.) Waterfalls? Ah, yes, just 40 min. on the Blue Ridge Parkway...Looking Glass Falls, but Dupont state park has 4 unique falls for a great day trip. And don't forget Sliding Rock, bring your oldest cut-off jeans to wear splashing.
Cloud 9 Relaxation Home is 2 football fields away in distance from Heavenly Hideaway cabin. That's where the mountain views are.
Just 11 miles away, the Biltmore Estate is so beautiful with flowers through the summer. I can get discount tickets for you.
Dress up and go to see this historic 1911 Inn, sit on the sunset veranda for meal or grab a rocking chair in front of the huge fireplaces with your favorite drink. Famous Gingerbread display in Novemb
I'll give you a detailed map of the hiking trails on the property when you get here.
Local foods, especially meats, cooked in creative ways. My favorite spot for brunch.
Southern food and talk about a hoppin' place with live music on a Saturday Night...whoooeeee!
My favorite micro-brewery pub and movie place. School House Ale, try it.
Full of unique, crafty shops (knitters: the yarn shop is superb) and eclectic restaurants. A great place to be on a rainy day because it's an historic 1920s indoor shopping "mall" building.
Mountain Crafts and demonstrations. It's my favorite place to take out-of-towners.
Great movie showing all the cool places on the Blue Ridge Parkway so you can decide. Huge computer graphic on the wall lets you travel the whole length of the Parkway.
They take you in an elevator through the rock to the gift shop (wouldn't you know) almost at the top so you still have to be brave to climb to the flag pole. Magnificient views. Then the other hiking
Book the lake tour with dinner on the boat. Or go the "beach" on the lake. Better yet, have your own private beach at Peterson Pond on Cloud 9 Farm.
Happy chickens give renters complimentary fresh eggs and more for purchase for your return trip home.
Handy stop for food (and CVS Drug store) on your way to Cloud 9 Farm.
Shades of blue house, you can't miss it.Fresh seafood brought up from the NC Coast.
Owner's Map of Asheville
Janet, here, your hostess at Cloud 9 Properties, LLC. You'll find me in the Blueberry Patch most of the time, because in July we have a U-Pick farm but the rest of the time I'm tending the plants. Our sing-a-long jingle on Cloud 9 Farm is "Beds, Berries, Trees, Beef and Honey Bees" I guess you're most interested in the "Beds" part, but the cows, chickens, pollination honey bees, and forestry management you might want to view because it all makes Heavenly Hideaway a unique place. I live on the farm, too.

Awesome! Our third year at Heavenly Hideaway for a week's visit. Never boring, always relaxing. Lots to do, IF you want to be doing anything. The trails on the property are uncrowded and Janet is a gem! The cattle love apples, we love the chicken's eggs and the bee's honey. Peace and quiet coupled with Asheville's activities is the perfect recipe for a special place to unwind and escape. Loved our visit, again!

We had a perfectly wonderful stay at Heavenly Hideway. A solid "A".The description of the cabin, along with the photos was perfect. We enjoyed the hot tub, cozy fireplace and a good movie on HBO. The cabin was very clean and up to date and the shower a real treat. We have told many of our friends about this charming cabin in the woods.
Owner response:You shared with us that you had family close by, but chose to select your times to visit them while "camping out" at Heavenly Hideaway. Everyone needs their own space! The shower is a spacious, cultured marble lined section with hand rails and a built in seat. What's not to like? Thanks!

Heavenly Hideaway is a lovely cabin filled with all the amenities you can think of. It is well maintained and very clean. Janet is a great host and very helpful. She has gone above and beyond to make this an enjoyable place to stay while your away from home. Would highly recommend.
Owner response:Thanks for saying the Hideaway is clean...we often do the white sock walk around test just to make sure. The floors pass every time.

We were looking for a nice escape in the mountains in November and this was the perfect answer. The cabin is perfectly appointed and very cozy and charming and provided a great leaf peeping opportunity. A bonus was the pet friendly feature. My husband and I ( and our pooch) loved the prifvacy the cabin afforded as well as the great hiking trail up the top of the mountain. The proximity to Asheville is a great plus- although you'd never guess that you are that close to downtown since you are truly in a heavenly hideaway. Very accomodating and we will certainly return!
Owner response:You are right, we are close to Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. A short 15 minutes to the heart of downtown which includes time to park. You only have to turn 4 times to get there. Easy! On the way back, you can just feel your stress melt away as the trees surround you.

The weekend before Thanksgiving my wife and I and our 9 month old son had the pleasure of staying at Heavenly Hideaway for four nights. The cabin was the perfect size for our small family, and Janet was great. She brought in a highchair for us, and offered to bring in a crib. The cabin was quiet and remote, while still an easy 15 minute drive in to Asheville. It was also easy driving distance to the Biltmore and other local attractions. If you are looking for a cozy cabin, for a romantic getaway or a fun family weekend, Heavenly Hideaway is a great choice!
Owner response:Heavenly Hideaway is easy to baby proof because there are few knick-knacks to have to move. And it looked like your Pack 'n Play fit right at the foot of the king bed. 750 square feet is just right for a small family. In fact, I'd live in it myself if it had a walk-in closet and craft room!

This by far was the best cabin we have stayed in. Very clean, beautifully built and furnished, with attention to detail. We appreciate the pet friendlyness and rules for pet cleanliness. Privacy the way it should be. Janet's hospitality is wonderful and welcoming. The bread, honey, and eggs were quite the addition, as well as the walking trails. We will definetly be back.
Owner response:Thanks for noticing how clean we keep Heavenly Hideaway cabin. Hospitality is easy with friendly people like you!

We spent part of our honeymoon there and then celebrated our first anniversary there as well. The cabin is beautiful and feels very private and tucked away. It's actually a 10-15 drive to downtown Asheville, though, so it is truly the best of both worlds. The view of the stars from the hot tub is phenomenal. My husband and I are both addicted to technology, so the satellite TV and the internet access were nice as well. We highly recommend Tupelo Honey Cafe. It absolutely lives up to the hype. The South location is good for avoiding a long wait. The Biltmore Estate is fascinating, but be ready for a long day. The Stable Cafe there had some of the best pulled pork BBQ we've ever eaten. Thanks to Heavenly Hideaway for providing the perfect atmosphere for a couple's time alone and for relaxation.
Owner response:Sounds like you're starting a yearly couples tradition at Anniversary time! Yes, the privacy of Heavenly Hideaway cabin can't be beat. When you're in that hot tub, it's just you, the woods, open sky, stars, a few deer...

Based on the VRBO description we booked three days in early September for a restful break. In fact, the reality of Heavenly Hideaway is even better than the photos show. The cabin is beautifully laid out and furnished, spotlessly clean, private, and comfortable. Janet truly has thought of everything. The kitchen is well stocked with pretty much any basic condiments you need, and of course Janet gives each guest a dozen farm-fresh eggs - yum! Icing on the cake: the hot tub. We will definitely return!
Owner response:So you traded triple digits in Texas for our cool, green Asheville. Although it can get hot during the day, it always cools off at night here.Yes, I like to keep things well stocked, just thinking of what I would want to have if on vacation: coffee, tea, sweeteners of many descriptions, (including Heavenly Honey from the farm), and even mustard! Thanks for noticing how clean the cabin is, too. Every surface is gone over between visitors.

My wife and I stayed here for a long honeymoon weekend, but it wasn't nearly long enough. This is a beautiful, romantic little cabin secreted away in the woods, but it's also just a quick car ride to downtown Asheville and all of the great dining and sights the city has to offer. We grilled and ate on the deck, explored a regrettably small portion of the farm's trails and points of interest, and soaked our tired muscles under the stars in the hot tub. We listened to the woods come alive at night, and we watched a mother bird feed her chicks in a nest just under the covered deck's eaves. There's a cozy porch swing that lies flat so you can stretch out and get into your ultra-relaxed mode. The beds and furniture are super-comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen nicely appointed--and if you can find a hotel or golf resort that has homemade wheat bread baking and farm-fresh eggs in the fridge for you when you arrive, I'll eat my hat. Our dog says he enjoyed it, too, for the ample walking and sniffing opportunities.
Owner response:Yes, you are right, we are a quick ride to Asheville. we can make it to downtown in 15 min. From Cloud 9, it is just 3 intersections from the driveway to the straight multi-lane highway shot to about anywhere you want to go in Asheville. Yet, you are out in the country, 2tenths of a mile on a dirt road if you want to kick a few rocks.

We've tracked this for a couple of years in changing life circumstances, first as a possible place to go with young children, then as a place to go as a couple and now looking forward to introducing it to good friends as a place to go (Cloud 9 venue) with special friends in your life or to regroup with a mix of adults and children. We went to Heavenly Hideaway in late June 2011 as a couple and could not have been more pleased. Close to Asheville and other NC attractions, private, perfectly situated to just "staythere" if your life season or the weather suggests staying in. This is the place of someone (owner Janet) who is savvy and focused on how to make precious acerage sustainable. Those seeking luxury accomodation will be very pleased - details abound and all is pristine. Those seeking privacy will have it but can trade it off in a nanosecond for "involvement" on this working farm's activities. City life IS close but the luxury of woods and mountain views are right outside your door. The internet photos do not tell you how well appointed everything is. For those who can't leave behind their e-connections you can plug in. Everything has been "thought about" here. Feed chickens if you wish or text your office or friends if you need in a Wi-Fi set up. We've travelled here and across the pond and this IS a special place. You will not go wrong. Truly special. We hope life brings us a chance to see the settings on Cloud Nine and Heavenly Hideaway through the seasons.
Owner response:Your appreciation makes us feel that this venture is worthwhile! As far as that nano second (are you a Star Trek fan?) of trade-off, let me just tell future renters what working farm "chores" others have had fun helping with: picking beans, digging potatoes, picking berries, checking on the status of the queen in the beehives, extracting honey, moving cows by herding them in the car, down the road, catching errant egg-laying chickens, even helping with the harvest of our meat chickens on the particular day we do that. One renter enthusiastically exclaimed, "I feel like I've done real work today." But don't worry, we also guard your privacy if that's what you came for! Thanks for the great review description, Kathryn.
