Heavenly Hideaway Cabin- Cozy, Private, Hot Tub

Year Purchased: 2007

Why the Owner Chose Asheville

My family home, Cloud 9 Relaxation Home, a ranch style home over-looking the Blue Ridge Mountain valleys of Fairview, just 15 miles SE of Asheville, NC has been completely updated and is the premier hilltop location for views and gatherings up to 8 people. But the cozy cabin, Heavenly Hideaway, in the woods, with a hot tub off the main driveway is where you want to be for a private couples get-away.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Besides the fun of watching the sun rise or early morning hikes on Cloud 9 Farm where you can hear the cows crunching on the lush grass in the pasture, see wood ducks or a blue heron fly in to investigate Peterson pond or hike the mountain trails...besides all that, in 15 minutes you can be on the Biltmore Estate or in downtown Asheville going to an eclectic local foods restaurant or go the other way to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure for the afternoon. I recommend the scenic boat ride/dinner tour. In Asheville, you must see the Grove Park Inn and Spa for a lunch on Sunset Terrace or splurge on the spa. (But I do know some day spas, too, just ask.) Waterfalls? Ah, yes, just 40 min. on the Blue Ridge Parkway...Looking Glass Falls, but Dupont state park has 4 unique falls for a great day trip. And don't forget Sliding Rock, bring your oldest cut-off jeans to wear splashing.

Owner's Map of Asheville

Janet, here, your hostess at Cloud 9 Properties, LLC. You'll find me in the Blueberry Patch most of the time, because in July we have a U-Pick farm but the rest of the time I'm tending the plants. Our sing-a-long jingle on Cloud 9 Farm is "Beds, Berries, Trees, Beef and Honey Bees" I guess you're most interested in the "Beds" part, but the cows, chickens, pollination honey bees, and forestry management you might want to view because it all makes Heavenly Hideaway a unique place. I live on the farm, too.

    • The Heavenly Hideaway was so much nicer than a hotel room. Janet, you really have thought of everything. It is such a cute cabin. The website really doesn't do it justice. The privacy, the woods, the tranquility...all made it so enjoyable. When we come again (and we WILL come again), I hope we will have longer to stay and visit with you and explore the farm a little. You are a gracious hostess and your place is just delightful. Thanks again for helping us celebrate our 30th anniversary. It was great.

    • HEAVENLY HIDEAWAY, INDEED! After many years of visiting the Asheville area, we have at last found "our" mountain retreat. Janet, the cabin is beautifully constructed and perfectly accoutered. It is our hope that we shall be able to return many times to your attentive care. With our best wishes, Tommy & Kathleen Atkins, St. Augustine

Our stay was better than we anticipated. The cabin was beautiful. We enjoyed many nights in the hot tub under the stars. We enjoyed the wonderful effs janet picked for us and we can't wait to dig into the honey. Isabell, our weimaraner) enjoyed the pond. She jumped in as soon as she saw it and it took up a bood bit of coaxing to get her out. The blueberries were very good and fun to pick. We hiked to Rooster's Bluff. That was just enough to get us breathing hard. The view was gorgeous. NOTE FROM JANET: "Rooster's Bluff?" Now that's a twist on our family-named "Buzzard's Roost" for the highest point on the property at 2800 ft. Weimaraners need lots of exercise and I think you finally saw Isabelle's limit with all your activity!

We had a wonderful time at Heavenly Hideaway. My two young daughters loved picking blueberries, feeding the fish, visiting the chickens and cows and playing on the deck. My husband and I also loved the deck and the great hot tub. Asheville is a beautuful place, so different from our scenery in Baton Rouge. The trees are amazing. We made many memories at the WNC Nature Center, the Biltomore Estate, Lake Lure and Dupon State Park waterfalls. Thanks for all the toys you had on hand and high chair. NOTE FROM JANET: I keep baby needs handy for those that just can't leave the kiddos at home!

We really enjoyed our stay for our honeymoon. So, so relaxing after all of the wedding prep. We will be back! NOTE FROM JANET; (Mid July visit) Tim, Trease seemed well pleased with your selection of honeymoon spots! I think picking blueberries was probably the last thing on your minds.

This is our 1 year anniversary and we came here on our honeymoon! Thank-you from the bottom of my heart for such a georgeous, love-filled place to come visit. Everything is just a dream...from helping you move the cows to making the ultra healing nettle tea (using your clippers to snip the leaves and food dryer) to our Yoga class by the pond. We have cherished all our vacations spent in the "Heavenly Hideaway" and we will for years to come. NOTE FROM JANET; That was so nice, fun, meditative of you to give a Yoga class for the other vacationeers and me in the shade by the pond on such a pleasant summer's day after picking blueberries. It was more relaxing than a nap. You are both so good at the postures!
