The Villa to Rent is called "La Fontaine," a Village house close to Aix-en-Provence and Avignon (great location for the summer music festivals).
The Village house is right in the center of Cucuron next to its beautiful fountain and ancient clock tower.
It combines the charm of a village house with the highest standard. Recently renovated, the house is 3000 square feet with a ceiling of 20 feet w light and spacious four bedrooms spread over 2 floors with a spare bedroom on the mezzanine loft level.
On the top floor, next to the American style kitchen is a large terrace perfect for dining with views of the village and mountains.
2 minutes walk away are several bakeries, 2 butchers, a small market, a news stand. There are many of restaurants and authentic cafes in Cucuron and another neighboring village Ansouis.
House is in Cucuron Center, 45 min from Marseille airport, 30 min from Aix-en-Provence, 45 min from Avignon.

Why the Owner Chose Cucuron
Cucuron offers the best of Tuscany and Provence in a convenient location. It is surrounded by rolling hillsides planted with vines and olive trees. The olive oil from Cucuron is world famous and there is an olive museum to celebrate that. The light is magnificent on the many sunny days of the year, as you would expect in Provence. As Cucuron is based in Luberon Park, it is protected from development and offers great hikes right out of the village. Unlike nearby, better known villages like Lourmarin, it has a mostly local resident base, retains its local character and does not become a ghost town in the off season.
As we are art lovers and enjoy the music and theater festivals in Aix, Avignon, and the surrounding area, the property is ideal as it is right in the middle between the two cities.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The property is a typical French 18th century aristocratic house with tall ceilings and very spacious hallways, etc. Unique is also the large terrace adjacent to the kitchen where we always take our meals. The appliances are all high-end, so you will get the luxury vacation feeling from the start. The bakery shops, butcher, etc. are all within steps of the house as it is located in the center of the small village.

Kay and Daniel are French and Dutch respectively but are both in love with France and this house. We bought it in 2004 to still have a place to call home in France when we moved to New York. We have a baby daughter and hope to go back to France and maybe spend our retirement in this house in France.
