Our family stayed the first 2 weeks in May. The house was even more amazing than we expected. The set up gave everyone space including my mother who had her own suite The views of Roosevelt Channel and the practically deserted beach were totally renewing for the soul. Michael the owner was very helpful and gracious. We enjoyed the beach furniture and added 3 beach umbrellas for future guests. I would definitely go back to this lovely home and recommend it for families looking for a luxurious getaway.

The house is beautifully appointed and very spacious. We had 16 in our party and never felt crowded. The living room was large enough for all of us to gather. The kitchen was well-stocked and we prepared several great meals there, including one with the fish we had caught that day in the Gulf! The pool, dock, kayaks, bikes and beach provided lots of activities close by. Even our four teenage boys found plenty to do. The setting is natural and abounding with osprey, bald eagles, dolphin, manatee and more. We all enjoyed watching nature unfold before us, right off the back deck. This is a very special property located in a wonderful place. We highly recommend it and we can't wait to go back!

Our stay at Providence was simply marvelous. This spacious, beautifully appointed, secluded house offered comfort, ease of use and total privacy! Breath taking views of the bay as the wildlife fascinated us daily and there is easy access to the isolated Gulf Beaches as the sunsets dazzeled us every evening. When we were not sitting poolside, we took advantage of the many activites available, bike riding, kayaking the inlets, billards, ping pong and many more. The kitchen is equiped for a gourmet chef but if you desire, great dining is available locally. Special thanks to Michael, the owner, for his attentive nature to our comfort and details. Captiva is truly a unique place, a hidden tropical gem and Providence is a perfect compliment to this South Pacific like paradise! We Highly Recommend It.

We all had a great time fishing on the dock - just catfish back there, but none of my kids eat fish, but they do like fishing. So catching catfish and throwing them back was just fine with everyone. We went on some long walks and bike rides which was also fun. Very relaxing, beautiful beaches and the pool provided some nice relief to the hot weather. After fiishing and swimming, enjoyed a beer on the deck overlooking the bay. It was beautiful. All in all, it was a nice relaxing trip. We had a great time. The owner called shortly after our arrival to make sure everything was going fine and to see if we had any questions. He also sent some great infromation ahead of time about possible places to eat. We liked Cheeburger, Cheeburger and Key Lime Bistro the best.

We were a large group of 11 and the house was perfect for us--very quiet so that not much was heard between rooms (even crying babies). We also managed to seat 11 at the dining table by bringing some of the outdoor tables inside. A few of the kids used the loft area with inflatable beds and were quite happy there. We debated renting in the village but were happy with this choice. We loved being able to kayak off the docks; we visited the sand bar in low tide and even caught (and released) a sea hare. The pool was warm, even on chilly days. The walk to the beach was easy (just past the house on the opposite side of the street) and there was a beach cart to help haul chairs, etc. The beach was also lovely--very quiet, but not too quiet. We went shelling one day at Bowman's beach and longed to get back to "our beach" quickly. My one complaint was with Royal Shell management--very early checkout (10:00) and check-in (4:00). The owner, Michael, however, was terrific. He called to make sure we had everything, sent info before we arrived, and was very attentive to making sure our stay was perfect.

Thank you very much for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home, it was just perfect for our needs. We loved all of the open space, views, and all the many amenities- especially the pool! We are always looking for a perfect spot that fits the needs of all the age groups- grandparents to 7 yr old twins- and your house was truly one of the first spots that has worked for us all. We especially loved fishing off the pier, a perfect way to relax and enjoy the afternoon.

We stayed at Providence in June with another family and loved it. It was very spacious and private with plenty to do for the kids. They loved the ping pong, basketball game and swimming pool! The kitchen was well stocked which made cooking easy. We had several great dinners "at home" enjoying the views! The view of the Bay was breathtaking, loved all the windows across the back of the house. We even saw rosiette spoonbills everyday!. Would definitely recommend this house to friends.

Our family of 9 just returned from a stay at Providence and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. There was plenty of space to accommodate us. The property and the house are very private and quiet - just what we were looking for. I would highly recommend Providence and gladly return in the future.

We stayed at Providence from March 14-21, 2009 and had a fabulous time. The home is lovely with lots of space for our two families to spread out. It has every amenity and the kids loved the kayaks, ping-pong, pool and proximity to the beach. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Providence to anyone.

Providence was an amazing house with unbelievable views from every room, tons of space and plenty of activities to keep us entertained. Each morning and evening we felt we were watching a National Geographic movie looking off the back porch into the bay as osprey, ibis and egrets feasted in the receding tides and 18" fish were bounding out of the water 10 feet at a time. The beach was beautiful and isolated and just across the street. The house was perfect for children due to the openness of the kitchen and living spaces and the multiple gates that limited our toddlers access to the pool. While great for young children, the kayaks, ping pong, and bikes made it great for any age."

Our extended family (four adults, two small kids) had lots of room in this beautifully appointed home in late Feb/early March. It is a really large modern new house - lots of space, and screened porches. We found the beach access easy (short stroll up the driveway to a deserted, beautiful stretch of beach), the pool fantastic (heated, and great for the kids), and the dock great for fishing and boat access. The canoeing is easy from the dock. We did not have a problem with any bugs (the time of year, I guess), and the sunshine was perfect. The beds are really comfortable, property totally clean and neat, and the house was ready for us when we arrived, totally hassle-free. The kitchen and outside Weber grill worked well - we ate at the house mostly due to the young kids. The Mad Hatter (at Blind Pass - 500 yards away) is a very nice restaurant for adults.

Our family, eight adults and four children, spent a fun-filled week at Providence. The home was lovely and perfect for the size of our group. There was plenty of room in the fully equipped kitchen for several of us to get meals ready. The screened porches were places of retreat for the adults. (Bring OFF, because the No See Ums are ravinous, and are so tiny they got through the screens.) The living room provided plenty of seating for our games of Trivial Pursuit, etc. The kids had more than enough diversions to keep busy all of the time--the pool, the kayaks, the ping-pong table, and basketball game, and, of course the Beach. The sleeping accomodations were extremely comfortable after a day at the beach, giving us a restful night, preparing us for the next day at the beach! We all had a terrific time and hated to leave. We'll be back!
