Clean, well-maintained, upscale and private

The husband-wife owners are locally available and obviously show pride of ownership. The key card got demagnatized one day and the front desk provided a new one instantly, even though the unit is VRBO. I stayed Jan 16 until today (Jan 23) and found the condo to be clean and quiet. I subtracted one star because the TV is serviceable but a bit old (not flatscreen); the refrigerator is large and clean but has rust on the outside, and there were fans but no overhead fans (I prefer just fans in January instead of the central air). The kitchen is well supplied with utensils and cooking pots/pans. I would suggest that the owner allow stapes such as rice, flour, sugar, coffee, to be left in the freezer for guests and stapes such as bottled water (or other sealed, non-bug-attracting items) be left in the pantry. Some units provide boogie boards, snorkel gear, suntan lotion, etc. this unit provided beach towels and a picnic hamper; nothing else. The bathroom did not have "slip bars" but I found the shower/tub combination to be useful. There is a washer/dryer in the unit. The tourist information was updated and books for beach reading were provided (I left one too, so I suppose they may be from other tenants). I won't bother writing about the Wyndham/Outrigger "get to know Hawaii" events provided weekly at the South Pool because others have done so, but I enourage people to take advantage of these since they were fun...we saw all of them. When we left, nothing was easier than leaving the key card on the credenza (although my travel companion dropped hers in the "key card drop" at the front desk, which seems just as good). Overall, I'd return to this unit easily. Final touch: a gift certificate for totally wonderful ice cream from Cuzin/s downtown. Mahalo!
