Ralph's condo was located on the best part of the best beach in the Cayman's. Felt like we were the only ones on the beach after sunset. Have fun and rent a vehicle to explore the rest of the Island. Once you get out of Georgentown the roads to Rum point and the East End are virtually deserted. Lots of great restaurants close to the condo, with the Monday night BBQ at Macabuca's being one of our favorites along with a beach dinner at Casanova's. All amenities in the Condo you will need for a great vacation. We will definitely be returning to #70

We completely enjoyed our stay at Ralph's Condo! The condo itself is a lovely property exactly as described. Clean and with all amenities to make your stay enjoyable. The location on Seven Mile Beach is, in our opinion, truly the best location. Grocery stores are close by, loads of restaurants within walking distance or a short bus ride away. The beach is beautiful with a plentiful supply of beach chairs with both sun and shade to enjoy it from. We enjoy snorkeling and the snorkeling directly in fron of the Villas was beyond compare. At first timid we stayed close to shore, but you truly must adventure out further to the reef. The variety and quanitity of fish you will see is truly astounding. Everything from stingrays, to moray eels, to trunk fish, squirrel fish, lion fish. I could go on and on. Be sure to bring your snorkel gear! A visit to stingray City is a must. We will definitely be returning to the Caymans and our choice of accomodation will be the Villas.

My family and I just returned from vacationing in Grand Cayman and we loved Ralph's condo! We traveled with our 2 year old daughter and our 9 month old daughter, so Ralph's condo was perfect for our family. The condo is very spacious and it was very very clean (important to a Mom with little one's!). Lisa (the property manager) and the cleaning lady for the condo were so helpful whenever we needed anything at all. We were very impressed by them. The most important part of this review is the awesome beach this condo is located on. The beach is BEAUTIFUL and not crowded in the least. On average there were maybe 4-5 other families on the beach during the day while we were there (my husband and I stayed at the Ritz in GC last year and it was a lot more crowded). We enjoyed going down to the beach every night with our kiddos and eating ice cream, etc and watching the sunset. So much fun and such great memories for our family. On a food note...we did visit Foster's Grocery twice and it is just like an American grocery store (they even carry the same baby food brands as in the US). Also, we fell in love with the Sunshine Grill (they have the best fish tacos ever!) the first year we were in GC and it is still just as wonderful. Great low key spot for dinner...sit outside by the pool and have dinner around 7:00 pm. The best! Lastly, Ralph (owner of the condo) is just wonderful to work with. I had requested that a highchair be placed in the condo prior to our arrival and it was there and ready for us when we got there. I also inquired about a photographer on the island and Ralph gave me a fantastic referral (Cathy Church's Photography - Tony Mark). Ralph makes sure you are happy and have all you need to have a great time. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our beach time with our babies while in Grand Cayman and would highly recommend this condo. We look forward to going back!

A most lovely holiday

We are now back home, after a wonderful time at the Villas of the Galleon. We had fine weather and mostly good sea conditions. We swam every day, took some sun and had breakfast and most lunches at the condo, which was well equiped and comfortable. We loved Grand Cayman, went all around by car. We had very good meals everywhere we went. Macabuca and Kaibo for lunch, The Lighthouse for Sunday brunch, Edoardo's, Guy Harvey's, Eats Cafe, Yoshi for dinner. We also had excellent tapas at Wine Down, in Governor Square, with a good bottle from a fine selection, a very good value, and on our last night we went to Casa Havana, which was romantic and excellent - we sat outside and had the place to ourselves. Snorkelling right off your beach (the best stretch on the whole of 7 Mile Beach in our opinion) was more than adequate. We saw quite a few reef fish, a stingray, a spotted eagle ray and a green turtle. Stingray City was of course quite a lot of fun (Dive'nstuff took us out) but another attraction we really enjoyed was the Botanic Garden. It was first class. All in all, a most lovely holiday.

We spent the week of Oct. 24, 2010 at Ralph’s unit at the Villas of the Galleon on Grand Cayman. The best yet and hopefully the start of a long and happy annual rental relationship with Ralph. We first discovered Grand Cayman in April 2009. I have been using both the VRBO and Homeaway rental sites for several years now.an I came across a villa rental on Cayman Brac. Although we loved the rental on Cayman Brac what we didn’t know is the Brac isn't known for it's sandy beaches. On our way back to Montreal we had a one night layover on Grand Cayman. I ended up booking a night at the Sunshine Suites across the street from Seven Mile Beach. We were anxious for a little beach time so we wasted no time in throwing on our bathing suits and grabbing beach chairs which the hotel conveniently provides. We crossed the street and we were smack in the middle of the Villas on the Galleon. We spent the day there and that’s when we vowed to return in the fall. The love affair with Grand Cayman had begun. We rented a condo further down the beach and although we enjoyed our stay, the beach wasn’t as nice as the stretch across from the Sunshine Suites. I was determined to find a rental there for 2010 and I came across Ralph’s villa. Beachfront overlooking the ocean on THE best part of Seven Mile Beach. Perfect! We didn’t need to rent a car, the location is so convenient that you can walk to the grocery and liquor stores and there are a number of fine dining establishments close by. If you‘re only in the mood for causal and affordable dining, the Sunshine Grill across the street is the perfect spot. I will go on record to say that the Jamaican Chophouse tacos are the BEST I’ve ever eaten. Our one concern about not renting a car was we still wanted to explore the other part of the island, Rum Point in particular. No problem! Villas of the Galleon is nestled between the Westin and Ritz Carlton hotels. At the Westin, Red Sail sports has a booking/reservation booth. You can book a catamaran trip including dinner to Rum Point for a decent price, or book a sunset sail. What more could you possibly ask for? The villa was very comfortable and was perfect for the two of us. A well stocked kitchen which is a must for me and Wi-Fi for my other half who just can’t leave it all behind. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough! I'm in the process of booking a flight for a 10 day stay for the fall of 2011, We've found our little piece of paradise!

We recently returned from staying at this property and yes, it's as beautiful and peaceful as you'd expect. Seven Mile Beach which is about 50 ft from the Condo is clean and quiet and the water was as clear and calm as a swimming pool. I was able to whisper to my wife while sitting in the beach chair, it was that quiet! this was a big plus as we were celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary and really didn't want a nightclub atmosphere like Mexico would offer. The condo was clean and bright and the only sound we heard form the outside was an occasional siren going by on the main street. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had plenty of plates and other items so that going to the local IGA was focused on food and not as much in regards to condiments. The property is very centrally located on Seven Mile Beach and we found all that we needed very close. I'd certainly recommend the property to anyone interested. Perhaps in another ten years we'll return to the same place for our twenty year anniversary!

My husband and I just got back from taking our family to this lovely condo. We had a wonderful time together. I can't think of one thing we didn't like about it. Everyday we filled our ice chest or mugs full of margaritas and headed right out front of the condo to the beach. We have been to Cayman many times by cruise ships and stayed in one other condo toward town. The beach here is the BEST. It has a white sandy bottom and looks like a huge swimming pool! Since it has two bedrooms, you can get a roll out bed for other guests and it was very comfortable. We loved that the maids came everyday to give us new towels, mopped, etc. The grocery store and liquor store and many restaurants are near by. Can't wait to go back.

We just returned from a wonderful 11 day vacation in Cayman. The condo was fantastic, clean, comfortable, and right on the beach. We snorkeled everyday and with helpful hints provided by the owner of the condo, we dined at excellent restaurants every night. I highly recommend staff at Divenstuff--they were great. We hope to make a return trip soon. Staying at #70 made our family vacation perfect!

This was our first visit to Grand Cayman, and we had a wonderful time at VOG #70. Your unit was in the perfect location on Seven Mile Beach. Our family has vacationed around the globe, but this was our first time staying in a condo vacation rental, instead of a hotel. We loved it! It was so low key, and we were able to totally relax. The weather was perfect, the beach was not crowded, and the water was pristine. We appreciated your vacation tips, and restaurant recommendations. Looking forward to returning next year!

My wife and I have just returned from spending 2 lovely weeks at Ralph’s no 70 on 7 mile beach.This was our third visit to Grand Cayman but the previous two were in hotels but this last visit was definitely the best.Ralph’s no 70 is furnished with taste and is immaculately decorated, clean to a detail and continuously kept so by a very friendly and efficient daily maid service.For us the first advantage over hotels is that no 70 is on an uncluttered pristine beach with a backdrop of trees to give plenty of shade from the sun. No fighting for loungers or individual space! Secondly, it’s very much like being at home; a cup of tea (as Brits!) whenever we want, make a sandwich for lunch, have poached eggs on toast for supper etc. Or, eat as inexpensively or expensively as you like in the many restaurants close by or by a short taxi ride.We hired a car for 2 weeks as we like to be independent to drive around the island and to go to the restaurants of our choice. Of course driving on the left is our norm, but the car I rented was a left hand drive!For us Brits and our European friends, Grand Cayman is quite easy to get to. Direct flights on BA from London, or, to Miami from many European cities and then a quick hop over to Grand Cayman.We think that Grand Cayman is one of the safest, cleanest and well organised of all the Caribbean Islands.We thank Ralph for our super stay, for all the information he provided and for always being so friendly and helpful.We highly recommend No 70 and we’ll go back again.

I took my daughter over Thanksgiving to celebrate her 21st birthday and we had a fabulous time. The condo is beautiful and the beach was great because it wasn't crowded! Ralph's tips he sent up before the trip were very helpful and all the restaurant recommendations turned out to be right on the money.

Thank you for the use of your condo. We absolutely loved our trip to the Caymans and are very sad it's over. Your condo was perfect and the view was beautiful. We rented a car (Dollar - $265/week 2 drivers for Toyota Corolla). Driving was a bit daunting at first but you get used to the left side in about a day or so. I think it was harder getting used to the roundabouts. Maybe it's because we're from Chicago and rely on the "grid system" so it went a bit against our nature. But with the island being so small it's not hard to find you're way around if you get thrown in a loop. I would recommend getting a better map than the one they give you since it doesn't list a lot of local street names. We grocery shopped at Foster Food Fair. We had many intentions of going out to eat, I even had a whole list of places I wanted to try, but we ending up walking across the street, stopping at Daddy's for a bottle (or two) of wine, then picking up Sushi at Yoshi to go and Burgers at Eats and bringing it back to eat dinner on the balcony. We spent most evenings watching the sunset on the beach with a glass of wine, or watched the sun go down as we swam and floated in the ocean. Life certainly doesn't get much better. Being that we went on an "off time" we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves, and shared it with 6 people "on a crowded day". the Westin and Ritz were quiet too. It was wonderful. The ocean is warm and calm, it was hard to get motivated to do anything but just float in it, or snorkel around. Since the condo is literally just a hop skip and jump away, we'd make a light lunch and bring it down and eat on the beach. There's plenty of shade if you need it. We tried to soak in as much ocean/beach time as we could. We did drive around the island, which was beautiful, we stopped at the Lighthouse for lunch. Since it was the quiet time, we were able to get the balcony table which is a secluded table that sits on it's only balcony over the ocean. Food was ok. We ate light since it was lunch time so it's hard to judge. Rum Point was beautiful. We stopped at the Botanical Garden on the way back and it was a nice stop, worth it if you're looking for a low key walk with beautiful foliage. We were the only people there. We went to Sting Ray City with Dive N Stuff like you recommended and we couldn't have been happier. I would HIGHLY recommend them, there were only 3 of us and the guide on the boat and we had a great time. Feeding the sting rays was a very cool experi

We just returned from our weeks stay at the Villas of the Galleon Ralph's unit #70 and we are still in awe! What a gorgeous unit, the staff was terrific, perfect location and absolutley the most beautiful spot. The snorkling was fantastic right outside our door as we shared the ocean with a young curious sea turtle, two sting rays and a barracuda to mention a few. Another close spot 2 doors up was Governors Reef which was like being in a aquarium where we saw lobster/longosta's and other turtle. Cementary Reef was also beautiful with lots of creatures. Loved and highly recommend the Stingray City tour by Oh Boy who gave a 3 locations for the price of 2 and picked us up and delivered us back to the Villas. Great crew, big fun, small boat and quaint crowd. Ralph's tips were the best and the Sea Bass at the Reef Grill was outstanding.

My family of four (husband and two teenage boys)just returned last night from GC. Your condo was everything that we desired. The view was spectacular and the convenience of being on the beach was absolutely wonderful. The snorkeling was great right off the beach, especially two doors down at the Governer's Place. My only regret is that I wish I would have done this sooner. We have always stayed at hotels prior to this vacation, but this is definately the way to go! The Lee Family

We spent a week at this lovely setting. We are a family of 5 and we had plenty of room. The condo is well maintained and daily maid service was much appreciated. We often had breakfast and lunch at the condo, and then went out for dinner. We watched the sunsets nightly. A highlight of our trip was New Year's Eve sitting at the beach watching all of the firework displays around the island - the best display was next door at the Ritz!!! I would highly recommend this VBRO.

What an awesome place to stay...right on the beach - great view - centrally located - so clean - all the amenities of home - walking distance to the grocery store - great restaurants right across the street and for those interested...also a package store. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evenings, having a nice glass of wine, listening to the gentle ocean waves. We could even see the cruise ships as they docked in Georgetown. Delightfully relaxing! We decided not to drive there since we have never driven on the left side of the road before - we were fortunate to hook up with a taxi driver, Eugene Pascual, owner of Karaoke Taxi. His prices were reasonable, he was extremely punctual, knowledgeable about the island and so very nice and polite. My husband and I try to fly to a different Caribbean island every year. So far, we visited probably 10 or so. We both agree that Grand Cayman has some of the best (if not the best) food we have ever enjoyed anywhere. We ate out every lunch and dinner - we never had a mediocre meal - all were awesome. We especially enjoyed our last dinner at Pappagallo's - OMG...extraordinarily delicious. In summary, we had a great time - great condo (#70) - great weather - great food - great host, Ralph Epen. Our wish for you is that you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed ours.

If there's such a thing as a perfect vacation, this was it. The villa was exactly as described, spacious enough for our family of six, and so clean! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful condo on Seven Mile Beach. It is everything that you said it was and more. This is the fourth time we have visited Cayman and this accommodation was by far the best. The location on the beach was perfect as it was situated in the middle of seven mile beach so morning or evening walks in both directions were enjoyable. The condo was beautifully equiped and decorated, the maid service great and the beach and sunset views breathtaking. There is bus service to town outside the door and restaurants and grocery shopping were within walking distance. We are divers and the owner reccommended a dive company that truly fulfilled our needs by picking us up right outside our door. The owner was also very helpful and accommodating and sent us information before we arrived. We will definitly return to this unit on our next visit and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants an exceptional accommodation and holiday. Thank you again for a wonderful holiday in your beautiful condo.

My wife and I stayed at this condo for 6 nights this past November and we had a wonderful experience! The place is perfectly located on the best part of 7 mile beach with great views of the beach and ocean. The unit has all the amenities you need, is extremely clean and well maintained. They have taken great care to ensure the condo has everything you would need to make your stay enjoyable. We cooked a number of our meals at the condo and found the kitchen very well equipped. The grocery store is close by along with a liquor store and many restaurants - all within walking distance. You can rent a car, but this time we chose instead to use the local bus and taxis which worked great. The bus is only $2.50 to go downtown and stops right in front of the condo. Ralph was great to work with - very responsive to all our questions, provided lots of great tips and everything was exactly as he described it would. This was our fourth trip to Grand Cayman and we would definitely stay at this condo again and strongly recommend renting from Ralph. We can't wait to go back!

Location! Location! Location! Paradise! The condo is situated on the best of Seven Mile Beach. Clean and well taken care of by friendly staff. Don't miss the iguana feeding by the office in the morning. Sunsets are spectacular! we hated to leave.

We stayed at the condo with the Gilbert's from September 1 - 11th. It was all wonderful! The condo is very nice and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. All of the tips Ralph gave us to use during our stay there were very helpful, too. We all love to snorkel and were able to see quite a bit of beautiful marine life. Besides renting a car from Andy's, we also rented scooters for a day and had a blast. The Caymanian people were all so warm and friendly. Thanks for everything!

Fellow vacationers. We recently spent 11 nights in this Villa beginning on Sept 1st through Sept 11th and had no problems in dealing with the effects of hurricane's Gustav, Hanna & Ike. As we had to make changes in our travel plans, after signing our Agreement, Ralph was very fair and flexible in making it possible for the four of us to extend our stay. As an investigative reporter I always advise readers to follow the advise of Ronald Reagan. "Trust, but verify." Everything that Ralph has stated in his listing is accurate. Everyone has choices as to where to stay while on vacation. Being located right on popular Seven Mile Beach, immediately between the Ritz Carlton and the Westin, we were able to snorkel within a few minutes of the Villa and saw some huge lobsters a short distance from the building. We rented a car for the entire vacation and found several locations to snorkel as well as taking a boat trip to Stingray City where we held and fed the stingrays. The accomodations were perfect for our group of two couples. Having two laptops we had no difficulty in communicating with the states from the villa. The three cable TV's offer a wide variety of channels to view when you are not running around the Island. Reclining in a chaise lounge on the beach in front of the unit, while reading a book or simply watching the sunset, was very soothing. As explorers we took Ralph's recommendation on outside dining as well as staying home where we enjoyed BBQ dinners. The villa is fully equipped as stated. In closing we plan to recommend the Epen property to anyone thinking of vacationing in the Cayman Islands.

We just returned from Grand Cayman & your condo is absolutely wonderful. It had everything we needed, and then some. A complete kitchen, 2 full baths, clean towels including new beach towels every day & new bed linens. The master bedroom is huge and the 2nd bedroom for the kids was perfect. We enjoyed our morning coffee, each day on the balcony, overlooking the beach & crystal clear blue water. This is without a doubt a home away from home with restaurants, food stores & shopping very close. So much better than a hotel where the family would be cramped inside 1 room. The beach was never crowded & there were always beach chairs available. Our vacation was perfect. Thanks so much for renting to us.

Our family of six stayed at the unit the first week of April and had a fantastic time. The unit is just a stones throw from a uncrowded, clean beach. The unit is kept in very good condition and has all the kitchen equipment you would need. TV's and DVD players throughout the unit if you need a break from the sun. The unit is close to grocery stores and places to eat and drink. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend it to others.

After having stayed at the Westin next door for many years, we decided to try out this condo and boy were we thrilled! It is right on the most amazing section of 7 mile beach. The view from the patio is incredible...right at the ocean. Having coffee out there was a vacation in itself! The condo is extremely clean and well kept. Everything we could've asked for was there including floats for the beach. Having a kitchen was great for morning and afternoon and at night we'd go to some of our favorites including Calypso Grill (great wahoo and sticky toffee pudding) Deckers (outstanding Tuna and the grouper is amazing...much different inside than looks on the outside) Eats for casual, Morgan Harbour (limited menu but casual and great fish) Hammerheads (Burger-sandwich type place casual and right on the water) Rackhams (same). Rented jet skis thru red sail at the Westin. You can schedule sunset sails and boat trips there as well. I'm telling you it's a great spot as everything is right there. The beach was never crowded unlike on either side of the condo complex. You didn't have to get up early to get your chair. It was totally relaxing. The grocery store is also right down the street and it is great! We always rent a car through Avis and have never had any problem with that. It is quick and easy. Reserve online before you get there and it's even better. I highly recommend this property if you're headed to the island. Staying here mad this vacation, by far, the best we've ever had there.

Ralph and Ginny,We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip to Grand Cayman and staying in your condo at Villas of the Galleon. We felt right at home by so many of your personal touches; everything in the condo was just perfect. It was well stocked with everything we could possibly need (even spices for cooking) and is beautifully decorated. The location is perfect!The beach was absolutely gorgeous and very quiet. There were always plenty of beach chairs and tables to set your drinks. We snorkeled off the beach a couple of afternoons and saw mutton snapper (we nicknamed them the 3 muskateers because they were alway following us around), parrotfish, smooth trunkfish, lobster, jacks, and many more.We loved diving nearly every day with Dive ‘N Stuff. Jerry and Andy (or Paul) picked us up right on the beach, set up our gear for us and attended to our every need - it was like valet diving. The diving was amazing; too many different fish and turtles to mention. Our favorite dive location was Big Tunnel and on our last dive we saw a spotted ray that was a perfect ending to our trip. I would definitely dive again with Dive 'N Stuff.Ralph's tips were so helpful; we took them with us and referred to them often during our trip. We ate at Aqua Beach, Hammerheads, Al Fresco, Breezes by the Bay, and Eats Café. They were all very good and we enjoyed all our meals, but there were so many more restaurants that we wanted to try - we ran out of time; I guess we’ll just have to go back! We also picked up fresh triggerfish from the fishermen at the tent next to Hammerhead’s one evening. We cooked the fish on the grill at the condo and it was wonderful (several charcoals grills are located behind the office).We rented an SUV from Andy’s for the week (approx $300 US for 7 days) and learned to drive on the left side of the road where every drive was an adventure. We struggled a bit with the many roundabouts (in our opinion there were not enough signs), but we always seemed to find our way.We were struck by the friendliness of everyone we met on the island and felt very safe. We would love to go back and dream of someday moving to the island. We would definitely recommend staying in Ralph and Ginny’s condo; we were not disappointed.Thanks for the wonderful home away from home! We plan to return.Joan and Steve

The condo was absolutely perfect! The views you see on the website are exactly what you see. I would definitely go back and stay in this condo again. It had everything we needed, the staff was very friendly and the beach right in the back was perfect.

This condo was great! Ideally situated on the best beach on Grand Cayman. The kitchen was fully equipped and the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very clean. Right next door to the Ritz but at a significant savings.Close to an American style grocery store and many restaurants.

I have stayed in some of the world's best hotels and resorts but nothing compared to the experience I had staying at this beautiful condo on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman! After working like crazy on a major International event, I needed some 'quiet time' and this condo property afforded me the peace and quiet I was looking for. To be able to walk down to the beach, go snorkeling and look for lobsters and fish was so-o-o-o relaxing compared to herding athletes! Everything at this condo was great! From the full sized kitchen, to the very comfortable bed to just being able to relax on the back porch while surfing the Internet was just a great experience! My friend and I went up to the Cracked Conch restaurant and had a fun diving experience there. Then, we just relaxed on the their patio deck. We also went to Yoshi Sushi across the street from your condo and had a great sushi experience there! Probably some of the best sushi I've had in a long time. And, of course, what's a trip to Grand Cayman without going to the Town of Hell! I highly recommend this property to all that want to have a fun Grand Cayman experience. Ralph and his family are great hosts!

Fantastic!! I've been to both coasts of Mexico, five other Caribbean Islands, and three Mediterranean Islands, and this is by far the best. Superb weather, great very private beachfront, extremely comfortable, and we' be back!! Your restaurant suggestions where so on the money that we didn't even attempt to take advantage of cooking in other than for breakfast which were enjoyed on the unbelievable patio view. The Villa is very well-appointed and the king size bed was better than advertised. Floating on the air mattresses was a daily occurance. Best restaurant experiences were The Wharf, The Reef Grill, and Rackums. It was all to fabulous. Thanks from the four of us; George, Carolyn, Richard & Cheryl.

Just a quick note to let you know how much my family and I enjoyed Grand Cayman and your villa in particularly. This was our first time to Grand Cayman and it more than exceeded our expectations largely in part to you and your beautiful villa. The combination of that fantastic un-crowded beach and your villa literally being only steps away was perfect. We were also spoiled by having such a nice selection of restaurants (that sushi restaurant across the street is super) nearby. Although Grand Cayman is expensive in terms of dining and shopping, now more than ever I’m convinced that you get what you pay for. If you want a safe, clean destination with many of the comforts of home at hand but yet on a world class beach, Grand Cayman is the place to head. Thanks again for everything!

What a pleasure it was staying at this beautiful condo! It has been completely updated with everything you might need and then some. The view from the deck is spectacular but since it took only 50 (I counted!) steps to land on the sand, sunsets were usually viewed from the gorgeous seven mile beach. I've been to many beaches; this is top notch. The location is perfect with a large grocery store within 5 min and mini-market/activities center and restaurants across the street. The condo development is small and very private. You feel like you have the beach to yourself with wonderful trees if you're in need of shade. (The sun is always shining on GC!) I highly recommend this property.
