  Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had a lovely stay on Lake Tellico for the week we were visiting. The house had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Our favorite part was the large back deck which was a wonderful retreat to enjoy our morning coffee overlooking the lake! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We would love to return and surely recommend to friends.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The home has an amazing setting right on the lake with lots of greenery and beautiful trees. The dock is a very short walk from the back deck and is a wonderful spot to swim, take in the beauty of the lake, or relax in the sun. Our family of 5 was very comfortable and our children had a great time at the lake. It was one of the best rentals we have stayed at. The owners are very concientious about maintaining the property both inside and out. The home was very clean and spacious. We enjoyed watching the Olympics on the comfy couch in the family room and having dinner lakeside. I would definately return to this summer oasis!

  Staying at this property was a fabulous experience. It was very clean, well-maintained and well-equipped. The owner answered all questions and even agreed to meet us at the property so I could see it before I made a decision. I had no problems and I would definitely recommend to a friend or relative. There is a beautiful boat dock and it is 5 min. by boat or car to a fabulous restaurant (Tellico Yacht Club.) It's a beautiful spot on Tellico Lake and close to the Smoky mtns. and other hiking trails. Boating, water skiing , hiking , fabulous view. it was everything we hoped for and we hope to return.

  When I arrived at Key Rentals in Tellico Village after an 8 hour drive, I was informed by Kathy that our rental had some water damage from a storm that affected the carpet near the master bedroom entrance, but that the unit should be "livable". Uncertain as to what that meant, we left and went to the home. The water damage consisted of ruined carpet leading into the master bedroom on which a throw rug had been placed. We were unable to close the bedroom door without moving the rug. Yuk! The bedroom wall was cracked and the ceiling had extensive damange also from the water. Needless to say, this was never disclosed by the owner or the rental company, and we did not stay.

  Owner response: Suzanne, there is water damage on the ceiling and carpet located in a corner of the master bedroom. It was determined that the chimney was the cause of water leaking into a corner of the master bedroom during a severe wind and rain storm. The chimeny was repaired and the problem of the water leaking into the house should be fixed. The job was completed the first part of October. Before any interior work could be done, the source had to be found and repaired. This large master bedroom, one of four bedrooms in the house, is about 400 square feet. Yes, there are stains on the ceiling in the far left corner and the water damage on the carpet is about three feet square in the same corner. It covers about one foot of the doorway as you exit the bedroom. The bed and bathroom are on the opposite side of the room and the only time you would come in contact with this stain is upon exiting the bedroom into the living room. I was at the house about three weeks after the storm on a fall golf trip. At that time I contracted to have the chimney repaired. Since this storm, we have had more than five different groups of guests stay at the house and have not received a complaint. Other than the two small areas that were damaged by the water, the safety, health and appearance of the house was normal. I have made a claim on the insurance about the water damage. I have also contacted carpet and ceiling contractors to replace them both. Suzanne, I understand that my agent showed you some of their other inventory of houses that you turned down but they found another house for you in the location with another realtor. They also returned your deposit. My agent also stated that you complained about the different colored boards on the deck. The deck was cleaned and stained this spring. When I was talking to the contractor that fixed the chimney, we decided that he should replace some of the damaged boards on the deck. After they have cured, they will be stained the same color. Suzanne, I am sorry you had this problem but in the 20 years I have been renting, I have never had a complaint of this magnitude. This problem is being taken care of and major work of this nature takes time to complete correctly. I hope you enjoyed your two night stay in Tellico Village. Robert J. Schell
