The Congerosa is the only home on Lake Englebright, a Yuba River reservoir in California's Sierra Foothills. It's perfect for groups--family, friends, colleagues--or just relaxing for two.
This secluded 2,600 sq. ft. lakeside lodge, which sleeps up to 12 people, is a wonderful place for a family getaway, spiritual retreat, or honeymoon. Located on 50 acres, The Congerosa offers extensive outdoor activities, such as hiking and walking, swimming, fishing, and boating (bring your own or rent at the marina). Classic American West wildlife--bald eagles, wild turkeys, hawks, turkey vultures--inhabits the property alongside Ponderosa pines, California oak, poppies, and lupine.
The Congerosa accommodates different interests. Looking for relaxation? Sip coffee in the hot tub overlooking the lake, shower outside, read a book by the fire, hike rolling meadows, watch the sun set on the lakeside bench, cook a gourmet meal in the full-service kitchen. Alternatively, take an early morning swim or hilly run, water ski (bring your own) the 9-mile lake, or barbecue on one of five decks.
We're particularly excited about the newly reoutfitted kitchen (new pots and pans, china, flatware, and Henkles knives) with granite counters, 450-thread count sheets, and the 67" flat screen TV.
Historic California Gold Country towns Nevada City and Grass Valley are 30 minutes away by car. Lake Tahoe's North Lake area, including ski resorts Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Squaw Valley, and Sugar Bowl, is about 1.5 hours away. Sacramento and San Francisco are 1.25 hours and 3 hours respectively.
Each season at The Congerosa is distinctly appealing: summer, high activity on the lake and vivid landscape contrasts of yellow, green and blue; fall and winter are serenely quiet with mild temperatures; spring brings vibrant wildflowers against a verdant backdrop.
