  What a wonderful, private setting. Everything is here that you need to feel at home after a day of Hawaii exploring. We loved the nature sounds and the "pet" skinks and gekos. Thanks, Betty, for the beautiful flowers and we will be recommending your cottage to our friends and family.

  Dear Betty, thank you for making the honeymoon cottage SO cozy and thank you for being such a great host. We loved staying here for our honeymoon! This place is so lush and teeming with life. We especially liked filling the bird feeder and watching a variety of birds come to it. The turkeys were fun to watch as well as the rooster with family in tow. The cats were sweet too. What a memorable place! I will miss the open air of your cottage! Lastly, thank you again for coordinating with our friends, Susie and Dulcie, for our wedding treats. Susie said you and she had been e-mailing since February! That was the most touching surprise - it took awhile to figure out that you all had put that together. It was awesome!   Aloha! We loved staying here and hope to return. Fun things we did: snorkeling early a.m. at 2-step (Honaunau) and Kealakekua Bay, Friday night hula and chant performance at Keauhou Shopping Center, Kanaleapila at Keauhou Outrigger Resort (bring your own ukelele). Loved the lanai feel of this whole cottage! Aloha & Mahalo!

  Good morning Betty! We love, love, loved the cottage! Thank you, everything was perfect. It is a nature lovers' paradise. I really enjoyed the deck each morning, listening to the songs of the birds and looking out over the tree tops to the ocean below. What a fantastic VIEW!! The sunsets are spectacular! I really wish we could stay longer! There was a lovely rain storm last night and we enjoyed listening to the rain drops on the roof while being cozy and comfortable inside. It is very peaceful here. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Warmest Aloha

  Betty: Mahalo!!! Karen and I had a lovely time here in your beautiful cottage. You were a very gracious hostess. We travel quite a bit and will be back to Hawaii in the next few years as there were many places we didn't get a chance to visit. If you would have us we would very much enjoy staying here again. Next on our menu is an Alaskan cruise and then, hopefully, back here. We found a wonderful restaurant on the way back from the volcano and ironically just up the road from here. the name of it is "Amici" and was one of the best meals we have ever enjoyed. We would highly recommend it. Again, thanks for everything. It was wonderful. P.S. The frog story will be told and re-told. Thanks for your understanding. P.P.S. Thank you for the avocados.

  We were quite content when we arrived at the Honeymoon Cottage. It was a little house, just for us. The balcony and screened-in lanai look out over the ocean and we enjoyed three great sunsets. The balcony also had a bird feeder which we filled in the mornings and watched the bird colony come out to eat. Very entertaining. The decor was local Hawaiian, with fresh flowers waiting for us. The best part was the bed...super comfortable with nice sheets. It was a lovely retreat and Betty (the owner) has provided a great vacation getaway.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

  Adorable cottage located above the hustle and bustle of neighboring Kailua-Kona, although quick to drive to when wanted/needed. Very quiet except for the generous helping of birds singing! This cottage was equipped with everything we needed and more. So convenient to have the private use of a washer/dryer within the house. We made use of the grill on the lanai for a couple of home cooked meals and enjoyed eating and happy hour on the lanai while watching the sun set over the ocean....lovely view! We especially enjoyed the open air concept of the screen-only windows....very nice. Some of the interior furniture has been updated since the photo, but all amenities stated in the description were true to form. Super nice to have boogie boards and beach chairs available for our use. The cottage was very clean with clear instructions on guest expectations/requests. Was impressed that the owner (Betty) had separated recycling containers on the front porch! Staying at the honeymoon cottage was perfect in every way - we hated to leave but plan to return! Thank you Betty!

  We had the pleasure of staying at the Honeymoon Cottage during our stay in the Kona area and felt sad that we had to leave our little Oasis in paradise . Betty was a great host and we felt like this was our home for the duration of our stay . We slept so peacefully in the cool mountain air and the warm mornings on the Lanai were priceless. Everything we needed was there and worked flawlessly . What a beautiful cottage to relax in ....btw , the avocado tree gave us delicous fruit while we visted . Many thanks Betty for giving us "a home" to enjoy on the Big Island . G&N

  The lodging had an abundance of kitchen wares that made cooking "stay-in" meals to sit at the table to enjoy the wonderful ocean view easy. There were also lots of amenities, i.e, beach towels, that made the visit pleasant. The privacy yet closeness to the hub of activities was also great. It was an excellent base for our exploration island as we put in 1,000 miles on our rental vehicle for the week. The washer and dryer was really nice to throw in stuff after being at the beach.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
