I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to Blackberry Barn for Christmas. We had a great time! Being from NYC, the barn felt like a totally different world. It was nice to trade in the usual Blackberry Bold for the Blackberry Barn for a few days. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right season to enjoy most of the activities. I wish we could have seen the horses, BBQ'd outside, played in the pond, explored the area more, etc. All of the local farms were closed for the season. However, we were perfectly happy to stay in and hang out by the fire. There were plenty of kitchen supplies to make some nice meals. The barn was super clean, but the water is a bit funky. It has a sulfur smell and some black sediment at times. But, if you stock up on bottled water like they suggest, it's not a big deal. There's a gas station/convenience store just down the road, so it's very easy to pick up basics at the last minute. We never let the record player stop spinning. Selection is very 70s-80s. Would have loved more Beatles, Stones, etc. Our dog loved having so much room to run outside, and even tried "ice skating" on the frozen pond. We would love to come back with friends in the warmer months to enjoy the activities. Although the 3 rooms are mostly separate, these are close quarters, so couples shouldn't expect much privacy time if sharing the barn with others. Overall had a great time and a pleasant interaction with the owners/caretakers. Go stay at the barn and relaaaxxxxx.

Had a great time mellowing out, reading, drinking boxed wine, listening to records and woodpeckers, and hiking around gorgeous Lake Minnewaska. Hope to return!

Had a very pleasant visit. Nice getaway from city life. Barn reminded me of my grandmother's house in New Hampshire back in the 80s. My kids enjoyed the vinyl collection- recent generation only knew CDs! Local folks were overall very pleasant. We came to relax and mission was accomplished!!!! I'm burning firewood as I write this and BBQing beef skirt from Kiernen Farms. I've loaded up on local vegis to take home....thanks for a great time.

Blackberry Barn's rustic charm shone through. We had delightful campfires, canoe tours, and fabulous al fresco dining under the maple tree. The vinyl rocks! It brought us back to the 70s and 80s. Thank you Blackberry Barn. Hope you see you again in the near future!

Relaxing and rustic barn, with the constant sound of the running stream and a bucolic backdrop and a week of complete ease. The movie selection spans 40 years and many genres. We had a rainy day of 60s and 70s: "The French Connection", "5 Easy Pieces" and "From Russia with Love", and an Almodovar fest of "Talk to Her" and "All About My Mother". Outdoors we enjoyed the adirondack chairs and bbq, and of course the magnificent minnewaska. We found the people here in nearby towns engaging and social and enjoyed lively conversations and general hospitality. The lovely setting, one very easy to get used to and feel at home. Just bring drinking water and bug spray! Mosquitos were the only bad encounter. Would definitely stay indefinitely, if only.....

Loved the record collection. The barn was a pleasure to stay in. We rented bikes from Accord and went on the trails around the lakes in Minnewaska. Highly recommended!

We came to reconnect with our beautiful baby after being without him for 4 days. This barn is a family palace. Perfect. We came to give Julian, and ourselves, a fix of nature exposure. Its rejuvenating and refreshing. Doing so in this amazing barn is, again, perfect. Enchanting. And the record player....wow, what a bonus!! Thank you!

This is our 2nd visit to Blackberry Barn and it never disappoints! We hiked the labrinth trail near Mohonk and biked minnewaska state park. This area is breath taking when the leaves are starting to turn. We are hoping to come back at the end of the winter to try cross-country skiing! Thanks again for the cozy barn to come home to each night...the blazing fire, Frank Sinatra on the record player, and a glass of cabernet makes the perfect ending to a perfect day!

As we drove the last secluded road and found the "rustic Barn" we were filled with exultation and excitement! Inside we relaxed to the comfort and warmth left from the visits of those who had stayed before us. Outside was the scenic surroundings of the Ulster countryside. And from within a group of friends grew closer while generating memories of 3 fun filled days and nights which will last forever. It was refreshing to leave our problems behind and nice to know when we want to return the blackberry barn will be here to welcome us back.

Friday night bright stars and thousands of fireflies. Sat by the pond with the bellowing frogs. Went to Minnewaska State Park for a hike (recommended for future guests- gorgeous and lots of trails!) and hit some yard sales. Gifted Blackberry Barn a telescope for 2nd floor stargazing! Thanks for a much needed relaxing country weekend.

Sipping cocktails at dusk while watching the deer feed in the meadow...star gazing by the pond and hearing the music of the frogs...conversation by the fireside well into the night...and being wished a cheerful "good morning" by the duck outside.
