Villa Negri is the beautiful Art Nouveau home of Stuart, Joanna and their three children. Set amongst landscaped gardens with stunning pool overlooking the Lake Como. Villa Negri has been impeccably restored by Joanna, a TV art director, combining elegant period furniture with high quality modern facilities.

The villa is entered by a beautiful marble entrance hall which leads on one side to the Italianate lounge with decorated ceilings, marble floor and open fireplace.On the other to the kitchen, hand painted cabinets with granite work surface, double oven, hob microwave, dishwasher, and all modern hig quality kitchen appliances. The elegant dining room is adjoins with seating for 12 people. The beautifully furnished bedrooms all have air conditioning and can sleep up to 12 people, some have en-suite bathrooms.
The pretty village of Laglio is also home to George Clooney, with lovely local restaurants and shops besides being within easy reach of Villa D'Este and Como city. A wonderful selection of spectacular golf courses and water sports are close by. Visitors will find everything they need to spend a relaxing holiday on the most beautiful of Italian lakes.

Year Purchased: 2003
Stuart and Joanna live in Hertfordshire, with their children Claudia, Gregory and James, although the children are now finishing university and ‘flying from the nest’ they still all enjoy family holidays in Como. Back in UK, Stuart head's planning and development at a large firm of Chartered Surveyors in London. Joanna is a freelance television art director working on lifestyle programmes. They also share their home with Daisy the Airedale.
Why the Owner Chose Laglio
Villa Negri was purchased in 2003 and became much more than just a restoration project! They worked hard with local craftsment to restore the beautiful existing period features together with the introduction of high quality modern facitilies besides several antique purchases along the way! Joanna's love for Como began as a child when visiting with her parents. Now having a home for their children to enjoy the beauty and life on the lake is a dream come true. Their daughter, Claudia is marrying on the lakeside next summer!

They felt Laglio was the prettiest village on the lake shore which encapsulated everything they wanted from a holiday home, friendly local people, great food and wine. A fantastic Villa

We rented this villa for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It was difficult to find a place that could accommodate 10 people well. Villa Negri was perfect for us. It is a beautiful Villa in a lovely town. There was plenty of room for all of us. The pool was perfect for the kids, plenty of relaxing and dining area outside and inside. All the conveniences of home, but with gorgeous views of Lake Como. Silvana, the villa manager was also wonderful. She helped us arrange a tour and a chef to cook at the Villa. One of the nicest perks was the large gated parking area. I enjoyed not having to fight for a parking space or worrying about the rental car each night. To sum it all up, the Villa exceeded all our expectations. Villa Negri provided a perfect backdrop for my parent's once-in-a-lifetime anniversary. We are already looking for an excuse to visit again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

I just spent an amazing week at Villa Negri with 3 friends. The photos don't lie...this villa is beautiful. It is spacious and modern. The location is wonderful to relax at the pool or to use as a base to head out to Bellagio, Menaggio, Como, etc. The details in the villa are exquisite. Silvana could not have been more friendly, kind and helpful in planning our Italy Adventure. She is a real gem. The villa is within walking distance of a few wonderful Laglio restaurants and about a 10-15 minute walk to Urio for another couple of dining options. There is a little market about 3 minutes from the villa and a wonderful local place for a cappucino towards Laglio (about a 5-7 min walk). We found it helfpul to have a car to get to the towns with the ferries to visit the other sid eof the lake. Villa Negri far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend a visit and look forward to a return myself! Ciao!
