Exceeds Expectations - Great Location, Comfy Apartment, Friendly Hosts!

I visited Paris a couple of months ago with two friends. We found the apartment to be the perfect size for the three of us and very cozy. It was very clean and neat. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a mini-kitchen, washer/dryer combo, and extra linens. The location is perfect! Monmartre is absolutely beautiful - lots of little shops/restaurants and, of course, the Sacre Coeur - and the residents are very friendly. Also, the apartment is just a short walk from the metro station, which is great for traveling around Paris. It also has an AMAZING view of the Eiffel Tower! The owners were considerate and very communicative; they answered all of our questions before and during our trip.

We rented this apartment for a 30th anniversary trip to Paris. It is a cute, cozy place with a superb location just minutes from Sacre Coeur. There is a plaque on first floor noting that Picasso had his first Paris studio in the building, which enhances the already authentic feel. The apartment is on the top floor, with a magnificent view of the Paris landscape and the sparkling Tour Eiffel right out the window. Really magical. What I liked about the top floor location was the privacy and no noise from above. There is a small kitchen with basic necessary equipment, including an espresso pot. There is a lovely, sunny table with French country linens where we sat each morning, sipping coffee and plotting our plans for the day. We also appreciated having the washing machine so we could carry fewer clothes with us. The listing photos accurately reflect the apartment. Montmartre is a great place to be at night because just up the hill a few blocks away is an artists' plaza where you can watch portraits in progress, snack, and dine into the wee hours. The best pastry shop in Paris is just a block away with the most delicious fig croissants we have ever tasted. We generally walked or took the metro into museums and sights during the day and then relaxed or strolled in Montmartre at night. Metro stop is just a short walk. There is a small, friendly market one-half block down the street, for light provisions. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Wifi was a plus. I would go back there in a heartbeat. And I recommend it highly to people interested in arts, culture, architecture, views, night life, and privacy. (And don't forget to try those fig croissants!)

We spent 10 wonderful days at Magic View taking many photos of the moon balanced on the top of the Eiffel Tower! Because we're artists we're in love with Paris and we were also happy to find a charming room where we could spend some days 'at home' drawing. Montmartre is always the favorite place to stay - Magic view is well situated for the Metro but we often walked everywhere. This is a real family neighborhood with wonderful food shopping and we enjoyed giving two dinner parties to show off the view to our Parisian friends. Valerie was in China when we arrived but we were able to make ourselves perfectly at home and she was very welcoming when she returned. We were completely comfortable and look forward to another visit.

Three of us stayed in the Magic View studio for five nights and found it to be a wonderful spot for our visit to Paris. We enjoyed the view (although you have to lean out the window to see the Eiffel Tower). We found ourselves looking out several times a day just to marvel at the view! The area surrounding the studio has little cafes and just a block or so away is the Place de Tertre with many cafes, artists and touristy shops. Despite being so close, the studio was very quiet. The main area of the studio is larger than I expected and was very clean. Based on an earlier review, we were worried about the privacy of the shower/toilet area, but we found them to be perfect. The toilet is at the end of the entrance hall in a separate room. The shower and sink area has a louvered door separating it from the main area. The kitchen was very nice, although we only used it for breakfast and beverages. The washing machine worked well, but the dryer did not so the owners have provided a drying rack for guests. There is a small television, wi-fi, fan and iron which we used when we were there. The owners were very nice and responded quickly. We enjoyed meeting them. We highly recommend this studio for anyone who is able to manage the stairs of Montemartre and the three flights up to the studio. The climb is well worth it for the view, the neighborhood and the proximity to the metro.

The location of the apartment is great. Infamous (but well liked by many tourists) Place du Tertre is just around the corner, but you don't hear a thing. In general, the place is surprisingly quiet, given that it is located in the very heart of Montmartre, which got a recent boost due to the beloved movie "Amelie", shot around the corner. Several metro stations within walking distance, the Montmartre bus stops in front of the house, there is another bus going right to Eiffel Tower near by. Most places in Paris can be reached within 15-30 minutes. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars and several award winning bakeries near by (rue Abbesses), ideal for gourmets. Don't miss Rue Lepic and it's delicatessen. The view is magic indeed, especially at night, but you have to bend a little to enjoy it: You will not be able to see the Eiffel Tower or anything of Paris while sitting at the table. The size of the apartment is good, more than enough space for 3. If you travel with one more person, keep in mind he/she will have to sleep on the floor, and there is little privacy as the bathroom is rather open. The kitchen equipment is limited and not enough for 4 people (as is advertised maximum occupancy). What we did not like was the state of the apartment when we arrived. The floor and shelves were visibly dusty, the fridge covered in tomato sauce from the outside (and not clean from the inside as well), shower full of hair. In general, the place lacks care, especially in the bathroom and kitchen which both need a good scrub. We are seasoned backpackers and local travelers, so our standard is rather low, but we recognize dirt when we see it. Also, the electricity was turned off and it took us quite some time to find the central switch. The owner did not reply to our email when we complained about this right after arrival. (She was not there in person, and her friend did not speak English at all.) Deposit was returned quickly after our return, with an apology for the inconvenience. (Any reaction while we were there would have done a lot to help our holiday spirit.) Nevertheless, we think we will choose another place for our next visit.

This apt. was fabulous! The location and the view could not have been better. We have incredible pictures of the Eiffel Tower and the chimneys of Paris take from our window. Valeria and Jean-Yves responded to each of our requests immediately and flawlessly. We plan to return next year at the same time. We recommend these accommodations without hesitation
