We stayed for several days in this delightful studio apartment. Don't let the world 'studio' deter you, it is quite a large place. The location was perfect, with a wonderful view, quiet at night, but close to the action in Montmartre, the Metro station, and Rue Lepic. The owners are quick to answer any questions and are very accommodating. You will get a workout going up the hill and up the stairs to the apartment, so I would not recommend it for infirm travelers, but for the rest of us it just makes us slow down and enjoy life!

Our stay in this studio ended 5 weeks in Europe and what a wonderful way to end our trip. Just the Parisian flavour we were looking for. Studio delightful and comfortable. Very convenient location and Montmartre is my favourite place to stay. The view truely is breathtaking and adds a special element to a magical stay in Montmartre, Paris.

I visited Paris a couple of months ago with two friends. We found the apartment to be the perfect size for the three of us and very cozy. It was very clean and neat. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a mini-kitchen, washer/dryer combo, and extra linens. The location is perfect! Monmartre is absolutely beautiful - lots of little shops/restaurants and, of course, the Sacre Coeur - and the residents are very friendly. Also, the apartment is just a short walk from the metro station, which is great for traveling around Paris. It also has an AMAZING view of the Eiffel Tower! The owners were considerate and very communicative; they answered all of our questions before and during our trip.

Three of us stayed in the Magic View studio for five nights and found it to be a wonderful spot for our visit to Paris. We enjoyed the view (although you have to lean out the window to see the Eiffel Tower). We found ourselves looking out several times a day just to marvel at the view! The area surrounding the studio has little cafes and just a block or so away is the Place de Tertre with many cafes, artists and touristy shops. Despite being so close, the studio was very quiet. The main area of the studio is larger than I expected and was very clean. Based on an earlier review, we were worried about the privacy of the shower/toilet area, but we found them to be perfect. The toilet is at the end of the entrance hall in a separate room. The shower and sink area has a louvered door separating it from the main area. The kitchen was very nice, although we only used it for breakfast and beverages. The washing machine worked well, but the dryer did not so the owners have provided a drying rack for guests. There is a small television, wi-fi, fan and iron which we used when we were there. The owners were very nice and responded quickly. We enjoyed meeting them. We highly recommend this studio for anyone who is able to manage the stairs of Montemartre and the three flights up to the studio. The climb is well worth it for the view, the neighborhood and the proximity to the metro.

The location of the apartment is great. Infamous (but well liked by many tourists) Place du Tertre is just around the corner, but you don't hear a thing. In general, the place is surprisingly quiet, given that it is located in the very heart of Montmartre, which got a recent boost due to the beloved movie "Amelie", shot around the corner. Several metro stations within walking distance, the Montmartre bus stops in front of the house, there is another bus going right to Eiffel Tower near by. Most places in Paris can be reached within 15-30 minutes. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars and several award winning bakeries near by (rue Abbesses), ideal for gourmets. Don't miss Rue Lepic and it's delicatessen. The view is magic indeed, especially at night, but you have to bend a little to enjoy it: You will not be able to see the Eiffel Tower or anything of Paris while sitting at the table. The size of the apartment is good, more than enough space for 3. If you travel with one more person, keep in mind he/she will have to sleep on the floor, and there is little privacy as the bathroom is rather open. The kitchen equipment is limited and not enough for 4 people (as is advertised maximum occupancy). What we did not like was the state of the apartment when we arrived. The floor and shelves were visibly dusty, the fridge covered in tomato sauce from the outside (and not clean from the inside as well), shower full of hair. In general, the place lacks care, especially in the bathroom and kitchen which both need a good scrub. We are seasoned backpackers and local travelers, so our standard is rather low, but we recognize dirt when we see it. Also, the electricity was turned off and it took us quite some time to find the central switch. The owner did not reply to our email when we complained about this right after arrival. (She was not there in person, and her friend did not speak English at all.) Deposit was returned quickly after our return, with an apology for the inconvenience. (Any reaction while we were there would have done a lot to help our holiday spirit.) Nevertheless, we think we will choose another place for our next visit.

Good size, clean, view, location and so on .We will definitely recommended to all our friends, and go there again in 2013

We rented this apartment for a 30th anniversary trip to Paris. It is a cute, cozy place with a superb location just minutes from Sacre Coeur. There is a plaque on first floor noting that Picasso had his first Paris studio in the building, which enhances the already authentic feel. The apartment is on the top floor, with a magnificent view of the Paris landscape and the sparkling Tour Eiffel right out the window. Really magical. What I liked about the top floor location was the privacy and no noise from above. There is a small kitchen with basic necessary equipment, including an espresso pot. There is a lovely, sunny table with French country linens where we sat each morning, sipping coffee and plotting our plans for the day. We also appreciated having the washing machine so we could carry fewer clothes with us. The listing photos accurately reflect the apartment. Montmartre is a great place to be at night because just up the hill a few blocks away is an artists' plaza where you can watch portraits in progress, snack, and dine into the wee hours. The best pastry shop in Paris is just a block away with the most delicious fig croissants we have ever tasted. We generally walked or took the metro into museums and sights during the day and then relaxed or strolled in Montmartre at night. Metro stop is just a short walk. There is a small, friendly market one-half block down the street, for light provisions. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Wifi was a plus. I would go back there in a heartbeat. And I recommend it highly to people interested in arts, culture, architecture, views, night life, and privacy. (And don't forget to try those fig croissants!)

We spent 10 wonderful days at Magic View taking many photos of the moon balanced on the top of the Eiffel Tower! Because we're artists we're in love with Paris and we were also happy to find a charming room where we could spend some days 'at home' drawing. Montmartre is always the favorite place to stay - Magic view is well situated for the Metro but we often walked everywhere. This is a real family neighborhood with wonderful food shopping and we enjoyed giving two dinner parties to show off the view to our Parisian friends. Valerie was in China when we arrived but we were able to make ourselves perfectly at home and she was very welcoming when she returned. We were completely comfortable and look forward to another visit.

This apt. was fabulous! The location and the view could not have been better. We have incredible pictures of the Eiffel Tower and the chimneys of Paris take from our window. Valeria and Jean-Yves responded to each of our requests immediately and flawlessly. We plan to return next year at the same time. We recommend these accommodations without hesitation

The view was great from this little studio. Our children loved checking to make sure the Eiffel Tower was there every morning and every night. The climb up the hill and stairs is doable but a little more challenging with children and suitcases. The owners were very welcoming and I thought they were very fair in their deposit price (some places are much higher!) and were very prompt in answering emails and last minute requests on date changes. The beds were comfy and clean as were the bathrooms. I was a little disappointed that the dryer wasn't working while we were there (didn't bring many clothes as we thought we'd have access to washer & dryer) and the dishes in the cupboards weren't as clean as I would have liked (but I guess this is what you get sharing a house with so many different people). It was, however, nicely stocked with all the essentials (soap, dish soap, toilet paper, sugar, salt, etc.) Overall, I would recommend this place because of the good location and nice view and fair price. To the owners, I would suggest taking out the rocking chair as it takes up so much room (especially with a 4th person on the floor) and is challenging to sit in and it would make the room seem more spacious (which it is a good size though!)

I can not express how fantastic this flat was. Valeria and Jean-Yves are so kind to open such an amazing place for visitors to stay. With a location and view like no other, it made for a magical birthday celebration that will always be remembered. We would not think twice about staying here in the future, and will recommend it to anyone traveling to Paris. Thank you!

We stayed in Sept 2009, the apartment is so beautiful. The owners are also really nice too. I loved the view as well and it is quiet when you open the windows you get sounds of music drifting through the air, Montmatre is also one of the best places in Paris and is close to everywhere it is also very romantic. Thank you for our amazing trip.

We travel to Paris several times a year and this is becoming our favorite place. Look at their calendar, it's always booked - that tells you something. We hoping to book our 3rd stay soon. The owners are wonderful and the neighberhood is perfect. You will have to walk up the stairs as there is no lift, but I need the excersize anyway :)

The view from the apartment really is lovely! The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean. The area around the apartment wasn't too touristy, considering it's so close to the Sacre Coeur. It was actually a very peaceful area. We really enjoyed our stay- the owner was incredibly helpful and accessible. Highly recommended!

This apartment is exactly as it looks in the pictures: a little slice of Amelie's Montmartre life for a week. The view is amazing; we spent most of our time throwing wide the windows and looking out with big, silly grins on our faces. A great shopping street is just a short walk down the hill, where you can order fresh bread and cheese every morning. It's close to the metro and the madding crowds of Sacre Coeur but on a quiet side street so you don't feel like a tourist. Valeria and Jean-Yves were so welcoming and helpful. We'll definitely be back to live the fantasy life again.

From the moment you enter the building and ascend the worn timber stairs you feel like you belong. As you open the door to the apartment your stair climbing efforts are well rewarded. The simple open layout is comfortable and welcoming. Open the tall windows and drink in the views across Paris. Venture down to the nearby markets and many speciality shops to stock up on wine, cheese and your daily Baget, then return to your home to prepare a delightful meal, sit sip your Vin Rouge and watch the city transform into an evening wonderland. Thank you for this opportunity to truely experience Paris. We look forward to our next visit and consider this our Paris home.

Just perfect. Wood floors, character furniture. Everything works, even a good high pressure shower. The bed is wide and comfortable (although if you are bigger than 6 foot 1 inch your toes will touch the end). Valarie was lovely and helpful. It is quiet with great views and lots of air. With a couple of stays in Paris thus far, this is easily the best place I've stayed. It isn't flashy or marble and tacky carpet, it feels like a home. There are nearby restaurants and cafes galore and the locals are welcoming and patient with school French. I'll be going back!

We spent five weeks in March/April 2008 in the apartment - totally loved it. The location is fantastic - close to everything you could ever need: great restaurants (try Bistro Poulbot on Lamarck!)/Metro a couple of blocks away/little grocer down the street, and many great markets, traiteurs (take-out food)and markets within a couple of blocks. (All that stair and hill climbing means that you get to eat and drink more of the fabulous food!) The apartment itself is well-equipped, comfortable, and very spacious for a studio. It's very quiet - faces the back so there is no street noise. Valeria and Jean-Yves live in the building, so if you need help they are there for you. We hope to return to Paris another year - we would definitely try to stay here again.

This apartment is everything it promises to be. My 15 yr-old niece stayed here with me June-July 2007 and loved it as well. Very well located, on a quiet street very close to popular and historic sites. Cute, lots of character up a windy staircase, wood floors, airy, light. Perfect view with lots of privacy! Eiffel Tower is a lot larger and closer than what you see in their photos, to our delight. As soon as we entered and opened the three floor to ceiling french windows it made us feel like we were truly in the Paris of our fantasies. Lovely cobblestoned walk from the Abbesses metro, where there is always something (music) going on. Family oriented and very safe at all hours, yet trendy, too. Small grocery, creperie, restos and trendy bar steps away! Restaurants, markets, boutiques all within a stroll. Sacre Coeur and Place du Tetre are very very close so you can visit it easily before the crowds arrive. Amelie Poulain store just around the corner, the bar is a walk away. A very lovely, villagey walk to our language school (Atelier 9)daily in the 9th arrondisement on Rue Trevise, but of course the metro takes you everywhere. Owners are "adorable", as my niece said, friendly and very responsive yet relaxed and allowed us our privacy even though they lived two floors below. Deposit was returned almost immediately. All appliances worked. Not in photo: very large windows, two nice tables/desks, full size refrig, stove, bookshelf/radio, washer, bathroom counter, storage and large mirror, extra storage/clothes hanging in hallway. Beds were really, really comfy! I slept in the child's bed, too! Best of all was knowing Picasso stayed here when he first came to Paris. One book says he "rented the top floor" of the building, so we like to think it was this apartment! There is a plaque on the outside building and also in the inside. There are only about a dozen tenants in this building, so it's intimate. Thank you, Valeria and Jean-Yves, for a very wonderful place in Montmartre!
