A great value

This cabin is a very nice place to stay. I went there with just my wife and we loved it. It was very clean, plenty of room and quiet at night except for the beautiful sound of the river just behind the cabin. Next time we go it will be with another couple as there is a beautiful guest cabin attached to the main cabin. The drive to Grand Lake (town) is just ten minutes, so even though you feel secluded there is much to do close by. The service and attention of Michael and others on the call list is great. The grill ran dry on propane while we were bbq'ing, I called the phone number for the handyman on the list and he met me at his place (just minutes away) to give me the bottle off his own tank. We ended up staying and talking to he and his wife for nearly half an hour. You won't regret this choice, it's comfortable, affordable and close by to all the things you want to do.

Perfect getaway!

My husband of one day and I were so happy with our choice. The river flowing right by the cabin made us feel we were away from everything! Perfect setting for our perfect honeymoon. The fireplace was cozy and the cabin was too- not dated like many I've seen. We cooked amazing meals and found some wine to go with it right in town. We felt like Grand Lake was "ours" this time of the year. Not many people wandering around :) Thank you!

Absolutely Awesome!

Date of Stay: 09/10/11 Review Submitted: 09/18/11

This cabin is a dream-come-true kind of place! The Colorado River is actually wider than it appears in the photos and although it sits not far off Highway 34 the melodic rush of the tumbling water wipes away any traffic noise and fills your mind with peace and serenity as well as visions of rainbows [if you're a fisher kind of person!]. It was perfect for our extended family vacation and had plenty of room for the 8 of us while providing privacy when desired. The beds were wonderful and the decor so cozy it warms your heart to just walk into the cabin. Definitely a go-again kind of place!

Wonderful Cabin on the Colorado River

Guest: Leo H (Houston, Texas)
Date of Stay: 06/11/11 Review Submitted: 06/29/11

Just spent a week enjoying this wonderful cabin alongside the Colorado River. Minutes to the quaint village of Grand Lake, Co. just outside the RMNP. Enjoyed hiking in the park, touring Brekenridge and Leadville, Co., or just relazing and reading a book on the deck enjoying the roar of the river - a few feet away. Amazing location was close to groceries (Grand Lake and Grandby), restaurants and shopping in Grand Lake. Was able to hike several trails in RMNP, within 10 min. of the cabin. Michael was very helpful and the rental process was easy. Don't miss the Fat Cat Cafe, Sagebrush BBQ Grill, the Grand Lake Brewery or Ice Cream at Grand Lake Chocolates. The locals were very friendly and helpful!

Awesome Family Vacation Rental

Date of Stay: 01/16/11 Review Submitted: 01/24/11

My family and I just spent three nights in this cabin and had a wonderful time. The pictures accurately reflect the rental's appeareance. If anything, it was more beautiful than I expected. It was cozy with all the amenities. The place was extremely clean and well-maintained. It sits right on the river and has awesome views. It is close to town and there are many nearby activites. We had our two children with us and we went to the Grand Lake Nordic Center a couple of times. They have snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and a tubing hill that you can sled down. The town also had a small ice skating ring for the kids to skate on. We also went to the Hot Sulpher Springs which is only 30 min away from the cabin. Mike was very easy to deal with. The rental process was easy and painless. What I also loved about the cabin is that it had everything that you needed there for you. You really only need to bring your clothes and food for your stay. We loved this place and will be back to stay!

A peaceful time

This is an amazing little cabin! We planned a winter trip to Colorado and stayed here four 4 nights and 5 days. It was my husband andI I and another couple and there was a perfect amount of room for everyone/thing. The pictures on this page are almost exactly what the cabin looks like on the inside and outside. We were able to take beautiful pictures in all the snow and right by the side of the river. Micheal was so nice and super helpful with everything. I would definitly recomend this listing for anyone who wants to get away for a nice and peaceful vacation. We went to snowboard and planned on going to Winter park but instead only went 20 min up the road to Sol Vista. It was a great mountain to learn how to snowboard on. The people in all the small towns around were so nice and helpful. We 4 plan on taking a spring trip to go hiking and will definitly stay here. :)

Another Perfect Thanksgiving

Date of Stay: 11/24/10 Review Submitted: 12/08/10

This was our second Thanksgiving at our favorite cabin in the mountains. And again we had an amazing time. There was a ton of snow in the mountains so it was nice and cozy inside with the wood stove going and thanksgiving dinner cooking! We couldn't have asked for anything more. The cabin had everything we needed and the addition of satilite TV was great because we could watch a bit of football after stuffing ourselves with turkey! This is a wonderful cabin and I hope we will be back next Thanksgiving.

Date of Stay: 10/15/10 Review Submitted: 10/24/10

This is our second time back and I have to say it won't be our last. The first was three nights, this time was nine nights. This is a beautiful cabin that is very well represented by the pictures and the description. It's close enough to everything but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The way the second bedroom is secluded to the back of the cabin provides privacy for families and couples on a getaway. We have stayed and talked to folks with other rentals in the area and I would have to put this at the top of the list. Michael is great to work with and is available for any questions you might have about your visit. We can't wait to get back!

We loved our stay

Guest: John (Highlands Ranch, CO)
Date of Stay: 09/11/10 Review Submitted: 10/14/10

We stayed in this cabin in September of 2010 and were very impressed. The pictures are great, the real thing is even better. The cabins location is very convenient to everything in the area. You are very close to the highway (no 20 miles of mostly one way road to get somewhere, hop in your car and you at the highway in 2 minutes) but you don't hear the highway noise because of the Colorado River which was really more like a large stream in September. Cabin was very clean and there was even some fishing gear available to let us try our luck. Sorry, not much luck to report there, but our 3 year old granddaughter had a blast catching some fingerling trout at another location just down the road. You can see other cabins and the highway (a little bit) but you are very secluded for such a close in location. No one, other than a workman who stopped by one day, even came down the road past the cabin in the 3 days we were there. I saw bear scat and my son and his wife got to watch a moose on the way out their last day. The only reason we didn't mark this cabin 5 star is because of the pots and pans (which should be replaced now according to Michael!) and the ceiling fans really needed a dusting. One consideration to keep in mind, sound really carries inside the main cabin. Some of us wanted to stay up and talk and watch tv while some went to bed. They couldn't sleep because they could hear every word and laugh. Finally, Michael is very professional and friendly to deal with. He said we would be able to take possesion of the cabin earlier then normal and we indeed were able to do just that since it wasn't rented the day before. Michael, thanks for sharing your cabin with us, I'll be very surprised if we don't come back again.

This property is all that it is advertised and more. The place was immaculate and well stocked. All you had to bring was your food, clothes and fishing gear!! You could sit for hours or days just sitting on the porch watching and listening to the river flowing. My husband and I had a blast fishing for the little Brook Trout. No one in our group caught any other fish other than in the river. The handyman, Bret was accessible if anything went wrong. We hope to rent this place again in the future. We have stayed in many places in Grand Lake, but this was the tops!!!!! Thank you Michael for sharing your wonderful cabin on the Colorado River.

My fantasy dream cottage

Guest: Carol (St. Louis, Missouri)
Date of Stay: 06/10/10 Review Submitted: 06/29/10

We spent 8 days at this beautiful place and I was not disappointed. The river adds to the ambiance of the cabin...with it's roar, there is no way you have any idea the highway is less than 1/4 mile away! I wanted a moose to come by so badly but that was not to be until our last night at the cabin! We were out on the deck fixing one of several of our ribeyes from the local market (they were so tender that we had to cook in again!) And here comes a moose around the corner less than 10 feet from me! I was breathless! He didn't linger long but long enough for us to get a couple shots! One of the best days was our Sunday morning, June 13, 2010, we woke up to snow! The biggest snowflakes I ever saw....it did not stick around long but long enough to get some great pics! We did a lot of relaxing on our vaca at the cabin so the lazy Sunday morning fit right into our plan. The lilacs and dandelions were in bloom as it was spring in Grand Lake! We liked the small town and the friendly people there, everyone seemed to be happy they were living in Colorado. I bought a hummingbird feeder for the cabin...I saw so many buzzin around that I thought they would bring us some good entertainment. We were not disappointed. Please keep refilling the feeder 1 part sugar to 4 parts water. Boil and cool. They love it! The only part I did not like was the beetle kill on all the pine trees. Acres and acres of forest have been devastated. I hear from the locals that the new growth is fantastic but I was in awe how this bug can kill so many trees. Luckily, the cabin still has a lot of trees surrounding it so it was very beautiful there. I want to go back asap but it prob won't be til next year. Enjoy this piece of paradise because it is just waiting for you.

My Vacation

This was my second trip to Colorado, first time to Grand Lake. The Cabin was the most wonderful place to have stayed and relax. It was home away from home and provided privacy at a reasonable price. Tte cabin was clean and provded all he comforts of home. Having the french door open hearing the water in the river flow was so relaxing. We arrived in Grand Lake during the off peak time so there was not alot to do. That was not a problem we were there to relax and enjoy Colorado driving over 1100 miles to see all that it had to offer. The owner and I talked several times by phone and he provided everything in the advertisement. I would rent this cabin again and recommend it to anyone married or single needing to get away to relax and enjoy so " me time".

Grand Location in Grand Lake

Guest: romantic travelers (Houston, Texas)
Date of Stay: 04/19/10 Review Submitted: 04/27/10

I just stayed in the cabin last week, April 19, and I was very happy. We arrived on Monday night in the dark, so we were not able to see any of the views, but could hear the river. Tuesday morning we looked out the front doors and saw the river rolling past the cabin, less than 20 feet away. There are no other cabins on the left or right. There are 2 cabins across the river. The cabin is equipped with everything you would need, and a grocery store is just north of the cabin about 10 minutes away if you need anything. Do not expect a lot of restaurant options in this area. Small town. Although it is a 2 bedroom cabin, the 2nd bedroom is separated from the cabin's main area and is accessible by walking out onto the front deck and about 20 paces to the right. It is connected to the main structure of the cabin, but is not an indoor walk-through. It is a good arrangement for multiple couples or children wanting to feel their own sense of space. So glad we found this and made this our choice. I would definitely come here again and bring friends/family.

Date of Stay: 04/01/10 Review Submitted: 04/21/10

We had been looking for a place in Grand Lake for weekend getaways and fall vacations that were close to RMNP but also close enough to home, I think we found it. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well the pictures above will tell you the whole story. My wife's first words were "WOW" and it just got better when it came time to leave neither of us was in a hurry and nearly extended the weekend. The cabin is well equipped all you need to do is bring yourself and groceries. The weekend we were up it snowed all weekend which made it just that more spectacular. Plenty of places to go snowshowing and RMNP was nearly empty so you pretty much had you and nature for the entire weekend. We were so happy with the experience and working with the owner that we booked our next vacation while we were sitting there watching the snow fall.

We just returned from our Spring Break outing and this cabin is all that the reviews say and more!! It is in a lovely setting that is quite and very peaceful! The river adds so much to the experience as well. We fished and played every day! The cabin itself is one of the, if not the best we have stayed at. It has all the luxeries of home, yet a rustic charm that adds to the experience. The kitchen comes with everything you need and is a pleasure to work in. All of the beds are comfortable as well. The cabin was very clean and well maintained! My only suggestion would be to add a dresser to the back bedroom, and that was easy to work around. We will be going back this summer for sure!!

We have stayed at over 10 VRBO rentals and the owner of this rental is by far the most responsive and accommodating. The cabin is cozy and very well maintained. It is beautifully decorated with a very rustic feel, but has high-end appliances that make cooking a delight. The bed is comfy, the place clean. The views fantastic. We cannot recommend it enough.

Best kept secret in Grand Lake

Guest: LVUAHAW (Blue Springs Missouri)
Date of Stay: 01/17/10 Review Submitted: 01/26/10

Celebrating our 25th anniversary this past week in Colorado and staying in this cabin was a wonderful experience I wish only that we had rented it for our Honeymoon! The decor and charm of this cabin is incredible and the housekeeping upon our arrival was as neat as a pin. Every detail in decor, furnishings, and the coziness of this cabin is worth every penny. The Colorado River frozen in spots, but running and rippling in others was a relaxing sound only a few yards away from the huge wrap around covered porch. The view from the living room picture window over the landscape of the frozen river and of the Continental Divide is beautiful. We were welcomed our first night with a moose walking us home along the lane and then it went up behind the cabin into the willows. The warmth of the woodwork, the leather furniture and wood burning stove made for a comfortable way to end the day of snow shoeing, snowmobiling or skiing. You know this is a unique and wonderful place to stay when I have about 50 pictures of it, inside and out. At night with the stove burning and nestled in the woods is like being in a setting you see created by Hollywood, only it is yours to enjoy! Michael has taken the time to do things right and cover all the needs you may have upon your stay. Plenty of split firewood is available, the fact that too that you have several acres to walk around and explore is a bonus. The quietness of this location and setting really gives you the feel of seclusion and privacy. The kitchen is furnished with everything you need and the modern appliances are a plus! Me a photographer and my wife an artist, this cabin and location made for hours of exploring and painting, she even set up and easel right next to the river to paint a piece. If you want the fast pace, and hustle and bustle of vacationing, that is located down the road in a condominium complex or motel. If you want to slow it down and experience Colorado in a slower pace and take it all in one breath at a time, this is your place. Thank you Michael for opening up your cabin for others to enjoy and experience, it is a special place, and special people will find it as charming, romantic, and enjoyable as we did. We are already planning our next trip back!

Great Cabin Get-A-Way!!!

Guest: ma ta (Boulder, CO USA)
Date of Stay: 01/07/10 Review Submitted: 01/13/10

Wow!!!! Best word to describe the whole experience! Michael (the owner) was wonderful to work with - very accomodating, efficient, and was always available to answer any questions, especailly with one problem we encountered during our stay. Overall the cabin is located on prime real estate - feet away from the Colorado River and is just as described in the review. We saw 3 moose about 1/2 mile west of the cabin on arrival (didn't get any pictures though as it was a bit too dark to show them well). The inside of the cabin is just as magnificent as the outdoor surroundings! The wood & tiles used, furniture (only the best), decorations, and ambiance convey a feeling of relaxation, peace, comfort, and just plain make you breathe a huge sigh of "ahhhhh"! My husband & I were looking for a relaxing get-a-way & this was just the place! Unfortunately the stay didn't quite start off that way as we arrived during the "Artic Blast" and the temp. the 1st night got down to -30 degrees. The heat in the cabin was controlled by an energy efficient system having peak on & off hours. We contacted the local person Lynn, who was very nice & explained how to override the system so that the heat would stay on. What we did not know was the override only lasts for 30 min. As the heat was on during most of the night (peak hours) it shut off at 5:30 AM. By 6:15 it was VERY cold...the electric blankets kept us toasty but the ambient temp. was too cold for me. Despite keeping the kitchen cabinet doors open our hot water pipes were starting to freeze. We contacted Michael who was very quick to respond & got Guy, an electrician, to switch the system so that the heat would stay on 24/7. He also got another man Brett, to come in to examine the whole cabin & make sure everything was in working order. We were very pleased with everyone's quick response, friendliness, & professionalism! We stayed "toasty" during the remainder of the stay. There was plenty of wood for the wood stove but we didn't realize that there was also kindling (located in boxes left of the wood pile) until Brett let us know it was available. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cabin & enjoyed the people we met or talked with. We hated to leave & hope to return soon!!! Thank you Michael for a wonderful & very memorable stay in your amazing cabin!!!!

Date of Stay: 12/31/09 Review Submitted: 01/04/10

First off dealing with Mike to get this rented was easy, fast and efficient...I was able to get it done while in Iraq. The listing was very accurate and provides a reader the accurate information about the cabin. Now the cabin...This place is a slice of heaven on earth. You can tell immediately that the cabin has been well maintained and is immaculate in all aspects. You would think this was a display for some sort of time share or resort to the point of a person not wanting to walk inside with snow or dirt on the bottom of their boots. From the moment you catch a glimpse of the outside as you drive down the hill you will be amazed, but it's not until you get inside that a feeling of majestic tranquilty consumes you. Everything in this cabin is top of the line i.e appliances, interior design and top-notch faucets, sinks and bedding...you catch my drift. As I walked through the cabin I noticed the special attention given to the little details like new soap at each sink, clean towels hung, plenty of cookware and an abundant supply of dried pre-split fire wood ready to use. Nothing is overlooked to include a Weber Grill to cook on while enjoying the magnificent atmosphere as you listen to the water roll down the mountain, 15-20 feet from the deck, watch the snowfall with the biggest snowflakes you can imagine while you grill until your heart is content. My wife, son and I absolutely adored the cabin and we were heartbroken when our time was up. The town of Grand Lake is very quaint and personable. We enjoyed snowmobiling, sledding and a sleigh ride all within 15 minutes of the cabin. We really like the little town and the few people we had the pleasure of meeting at the coffee shop, brewery etc. We will return this spring to see to what kind of character the cabin and town takes on while fishing from the backyard and enjoying a nice fire outside near that awesome stream. My hats off to you Mike, after being away from my family for so long this was the PERFECT get away to spend some quality time alone. To a reader: you will not find a better place to relax and feel right at home.

'We spent the first week of October in this beautiful cabin in Grand Lake. When we arrived the aspen were in full glory. How georgous with the green pines and the blue lake water. We got to experience 2 beautiful snows while there and by the time we left the leaves had all droped from the aspens. One evening we were standing on top of the bluff behind the cabin when a small herd of elk came down the drive way behind the cabin and up the bluff where we were standing. How beautiful.I spent one day shopping in the village of Grand Lake while my husband fished and relaxed at the cabin after our long drive there. It was snowing that day, almost a story book setting, everyone in the village was very friendly. We had a wonderful vacation and will hopefully get to return to this wonderfull, roomy cabin. Just What We Were Looking For

Guest: Tom & Pam (Littleton, CO)
Date of Stay: 09/18/09 Review Submitted: 09/21/09

After countless hours of searching for the kind of place we wanted I took a chance on this one. The next time we want to get away I will start with this cabin's availability calendar and hope it is open! If it is - we will be there! It isn't as secluded as you would expect for 8 acres, the closest neighbor is across the river within sight but not close. The road to the cabin is dirt but other than one good sized dip it is easy (and I drive a Mitsubishi Eclipse, not a Jeep!) It's a short drive from the main road to the cabin. Getting to the cabin the first thing that strikes you is its nearness to the river. All I can say is ahhhh. The long covered deck invites you to sit and watch the river. Once inside you finnd that it is wonderfully clean, uncluttered, yet with all the appliances you could need. As it was just the two of us we didn't need the upper bedroom, but if we take either of our adult kids with us this would be ideal. It is private, has it's own bathroom, fireplace, sitting area with books, and it shares the same long deck and river view. We found only two negatives with this cabin, one of which could be a positive for some people, but even with these two things we would be back in a heartbeat, and it still gets 5 out of 5 because the pros so far outweigh the two cons. The main bedroom is squeaky. Its floor squeaks between the main door and the nearest side of the bed and the mattress squeaks if you sit or turn over on the bed. It was very comfortable, just noisy. There is no quietly entering or exiting the room, or turning over on the bed. The second is the quietness of the house. Being that close to the river and yet not being able to hear it inside, and with no screens on the windows to be able to leave one partially open to be able to hear the river while you sleep was sad. It was restful though. This little cabin is a jewel of a place and we hope to return often. Loved it!! Simply loved it. Loved the river, the wood panelling which was warm and appealing, the small deep jacuzzi, the deck with chairs, the firepit right next to the river, and all the convenient comforts of this well furnished home away from home. The only true negative was that we had to leave.

Our family recently returned home from a wonderful week long stay at this cabin. Michael was so nice to work with, everything was as described, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of rental or location. The cabin was clean and we felt right a home from the moment we entered the doors. The town of Grand Lake was charming and we loved the putt putt golf on the board walk. It was great to be centrally located for hikes into the Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapaho National Forest. We set one day aside for shopping in Estes Park, and another day for boating and fishing on both Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake. Of course no matter what we did each day, we would return home every evening and fish in the river as the sun set or maybe just watch the resident river otters at play. The roar of the river was so peaceful and the perfect way to relax at the end of each day. The weather was excellent and that combined with the perfect cabin, perfect host, and perfect location made it severly hard to want to come back to our home state of Texas.

My husband and I just returned home after spending a week in this beautiful cabin on the Colorado. WOW!!! Everything about the home is perfect!! We loved the views and sounds of the Colorado just out the door. We also enjoyed the company of 3 bull moose on several evenings. Grand Lake is a wonderful mountain town and only minutes down the road, but this cabin also offers all the privacy we were looking for. This home has all the bells and whistles, too. :) The cabin was super clean and I could go on and on about how nice this home really is. The walk-in tile shower is beautiful and the jetted jacuzzi tub was wonderful after a day of horse back riding. The extra room was nice so that we could both get ready at the same time. We kept imagining returning with family next visit. I felt as though I was stating in a 5 star suite with much more room. The accomodations include everything you need to have a comfortable and enjoyable time in the Rockies. This was our first trip to Colorado and we cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our stay. When we return, this is absolutely where we will be staying. You cannot go wrong renting this cabin! Perfect!!! Thank you so much for providing such a beautuful place for us to spend our vaccation this year!

I just stumbled across this cabin to rent and thought we'd give it a try. What a great place! I'm very picky and this place was so clean, well decorated and had everything you could want. I wish we could have stayed longer. The city of Grand Lake was delightful and a refreshing change from the other mountain tourist traps. Thanks, Jill

Perfect little cabin

What a perfect getaway from the city...We just returned from 2 nights at this cabin and we're feeling rested and relaxed, just as we hoped! The cabin has everything you'll need for a great vaca. My boyfriend (a chef) had everything he needed to prepare some great gourmet meals. Our dogs enjoyed exploring the woods around the house and splashing in the river. The cabin is secluded, yet right off of the main road so you have easy access to the village of Grand Lake, only a few minutes drive! I'm disappointed to see how full the calendar is for the rest of the summer, we were hoping to sneak in another weekend escape!!

Great Spring Break Getaway

Great cabin - warm and cozy and a great location. Listening to the river and relaxing after a day out in the snow. Having a warm meal from the very clean kitchen and sitting by the window watching the fresh snow fall. It was a great place to spend Spring Break. Easy access to RMNP for winter or summer activities. We'll definitely be back.

Great Family Retreat close to RMNP

We had a wonderful weekend at your cabin in Grand Lake. It had snowed just hours before our arrival and it was beautiful (the driveway was plowed and clear) Best Things About your Cabin & Grand Lake: We enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the river flow. The snow conditions for cross country skiing were Perfect at Rocky Mountain National Park (only five mile drive) That wood burning stove really puts out lots of heat as we basked in its warmth. The cabin and it’s amenities were very nice and clean. The second bedroom is private and perfect for a combined family/friend house guest. (Ie. Mother in-law suite)

The perfect cabin!

I have rented many homes and cabins the past 15 years in Grand Lake and this one was superior to all of them. We spent 3 nights the end of January with another couple and we were all comfortable and extremely impressed. This cabin was unbelievably clean and the attention to rustic detail was awesome. It had all the amenities one could ask for with the rustic flavor. All of us have never slept on more comfortable beds even in 5 star hotels. The river is very close to the cabin and standing on the covered deck watching it snow was magical. Everything, I mean EVERYTHING about our stay was to the 9's. We can't wait to go back. Look no further, this is the cabin in Grand Lake to rent!!!!

The Perfect Thanksgiving!

This was the perfect place to spend Thanksgiving. The cabin was beautiful, it totally exceeded our expectations(and our expectation were high from the pictures on-line). The cabin has everything you need and it is beautifully appointed. It was so cozy with a fire in the woodstove and the snow falling outside and listening to the Colorado River rushing by outside. The location of the cabin is great, it is less then 5 minutes to get to downtown Grand Lake to enjoy some shopping or get a bite to eat. We will definitely be coming back to stay at the cabin in the summer to enjoy the lake and do some fly fishing. And I have already told several people that if they are planning to spend some time in this area they have to stay at this cabin!!

Honeymoon

We planned our honeymoon to split the time between Grand Lake and Estes Park. Immediately felt right at home at the cabin. We will plan to stay the entire trip in Grand Lake next time! Close to town, RMNP, wildlife viewing (even in the yard!), yet had plenty of privacy. Enjoyed grilling by the river, hopping on rocks, and enjoying the most beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

Peaceful Getaway

My husband & I stayed at this cabin for 5 nights. We were looking for a quiet getaway and we found it at this cabin. The cabin was clean. We spent most of the time fishing on the river. The cabin had plenty of towels, dishes, cooking utensils & kitchen appliances. While there drive down the road to The Bronze Elk on Hwy 34 and see Michele. They have many unique items and Michele is an angel. We will go back to this cabin. "It was wonderful!!"

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 10 year anniversary trip to the Rocky Mountains, thanks in great part to the wonderful little hideaway we found in this cabin. We loved sitting on the covered deck, sitting by a nice open fire, and listening to the wonderful sounds of the Colorado River. The cabin is nicely furnished and well maintained - we will definitely be back for a visit. We saw 4 elk and 2 moose right on the property! The little town of Grand Lake was fantastic as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our RMNP vacation!!

This little house is incredible!

Date of Stay: 06/20/08 Review Submitted: 06/28/08

We are a family of 5 (three kids ages 12-15) and chose this house to rent instead of a hotel or resort. It was a great decision! We absolutely loved the setting of this house. I was surprised that it was right on the river in a very private setting. It was very peaceful & relaxing. You can hear the sound of the river day & night. It is absolutely beautiful, clean & well kept. It's only a short drive to the Village of Grand Lake and the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park. If you love the mountains and doing things outdoors - I highly recommend this house. One word of caution - do not expect Internet service while you are here. There are places in Grand Lake that offer free Wi-Fi if you take your laptop there.

We loved this cabin...it was quiet, cozy and very relaxing. We enjoyed the river being so close and the views were spectacular. We spent our evenings gathered around the fire pit singing songs and roasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate. We would definitely recommend this cabin to others and plan to book another trip.

The Grand Get-away

The quiet solitude of the Rockies and Continental divide beckons you to the little cabin along the river. With cozy and comfy furniture, fully-stocked kitchen utensils, large master bath and bed, this cabin is heavenly! The large picture window brings the outside in; the many windows throughout brighten every room. The winding porch along the front and side of the cabin invite you to stroll along it and listen to the river that runs through it...This is truly a grand getaway for a few days or weeks. And yes, it was toasty on the inside with radiant heat and a fire-burning stove in the main room for great ambience. Loved it!
