Rest on our back deck and listen to the stream babble through the national forest while you admire the views of Buffalo Mountain. Or warm up in front of our gas fireplace after a long day of skiing/snowboarding.
Our duplex is quiet and isolated, yet minutes to skiing at Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper, or A-Basin. The local bus, which stops just a block and a half from our home, can take you to any of these, or shopping at the Outlet Malls, ice skating, hiking trails, fishing on the Blue River, boating on Lake Dillon, golfing at Keystone, or to the recreation center. A modest drive will take you to Vail, Beaver Creek, white-water rafting along Clear Creek, or mountain climbing.
As you recharge for the next adventure, you can enjoy our recent renovations, including new furniture, windows, roof, and kitchen. At night, get a good night's sleep in our king-size bed while the kids enjoy the bunkbeds down the hall. If you need more room, we have a queen-size bed and queen-size hide-a-bed as well. And two full baths will get people in and out in the morning for another full day.

Stay at Our Eagle's Nest - Duplex Backing Natl Forest & Stream
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Other Silverthorne Properties
We bought this duplex as a get-away from Denver, and a place where our kids could grow-up running in the woods, playing in the creek, and creating their own memories similar to our childhood memories of Michigan. We are very happy to share our special place with anyone - kid-size or bigger - who wants to relax, have fun and make fond memories in the woods or on the slopes.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The Eagles Nest (or "mountain house") is nestled in Wildernest, only 2 miles from downtown Silverthrone. With easy access by car or bus (the free Summit Stage) to all the activities of Summit County, you can always find fun things to do in the summer or winter. Our family loves to take it easy and take hikes out the back door to see what we can find - birds, squirrels, the fox, maybe the moose! Lunch or dinner on the deck is so nice in the summer, cool and sunny. Our oldest has discovered downhill skiing and I am sure that will be the big hit in a few years when we all can go as a family.
Owner's Map of Other Silverthorne Properties
Our family loves spending weekends up at our "Mountain House" - as the kids call it. Soon Kelsi will be following Ethan and Drew into the meadow and woods to play in the "back-yard." Mike and I enjoy having a weekend away from the demands in Denver. Mike is a "rocket scientist" for Lockheed Martin and I keep very busy with the kids, taxi-mom service, school, and all the things include managing a home and family.

We stayed in this lovely property last month, with grandparents and our 2 kids. Three bedrooms (and bunk beds in the kids room) were comfortable and the perfect size for us. For less than the price of one hotel room, we got a whole house with a kitchen! The backyard was perfect for the kids to roam around and play in, with amazing views of the mountains to the east. There were a dozen hiking trails from just a few minutes drive to only 10 minutes, and Lake Dillon just a five minute drive down the mountain. I cannot say enough nice things about the owners, who even found my son's Star Wars book which had accidentally slipped behind a bed, and shipped it to us free. We love the location, the house was comfortable and charming, and gave us an unforgettable 3 days with grandparents up in the mountains. We would definitely stay here again, as the price was very competitive, and having a house with a backyard and toys and games for kids made it very easy to stay here with kids (unlike a condo). It was quiet and peaceful and beautiful. Thanks for sharing your mountain house with us!

What a wonderful place to stay in beautiful Summit County! Our 3-generations were all very comfortable at the Eagle's Nest. Great for kids with the open space in the back and toys/games for them to play with in the room with the cool bunk beds. Very roomy and clean and easy to live in--it felt like home! Wendi was a great host and helped us have a great stay! The wi-fi was a nice touch, as was the direct tv. Great location...close to everything, but feels secluded with the open area in the back...we saw deer and fox nearly every day!

The house just added to our wonderful vacation in Colorado. We loved the house and the location was perfect. Copper Mountain down the road for the guys and Silverthorne shopping down the hill for my mom and mother-in-law. I would love to stay at this location again and hope to soon.

My husband and I enjoyed a great weekend getaway in the mountains. We snowshoed on trails basically out the back door of the house, and skiied Copper Mountain just minutes down the interstate. This is a great location! We enjoyed comming back to a cozy fireplace and beautiful place to stay. Wendi and Mike were very helpful and available if we needed anything.

We had a great time over the Thanksgiving holiday at skiing, playing in the snow, and spending time with family. It was close to Keystone and Breckenridge, very comfortable, private, and well equipped for a group of 6 adults and 3 children. Thanks!
