Ours is a small house with blue trim and Cape shingles, and it's very close to the ocean: you can walk to the beach in minutes. It's a cozy spot for unwinding, reading, relaxing, and getting away from the hustle of everyday life. Built in 1986, the house is comfortable and snug, with carpeted floors, and the kitchen was remodeled recently. Downstairs includes the kitchen, a living room, and a half-bath with a washer and a dryer. There's a deck off the kitchen that is perfect for grilling (gas grill provided) and picnics. Upstairs is a full bath and two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed, and you can see, smell, and hear the ocean from this room; we even have a rocking chair placed in front of the window that look out onto the beach. The second bedroom has a bunkbed with a full-sized lower bed and a twin on top; this will sleep two comfortably, or three if it's kids or a couple on the bottom.
Family Friendly Fun: This is a perfect spot for a family, since everything you need is right there, and there's no need to leave the Brant Rock Beach area. There's a wide beach with a jetty for kids to explore, and there are several restaurants--including Best of Boston winner Arthur & Pat's!--and an ice cream parlor all within a few minutes' walk.
Staying in works too!: Would you rather cook? Brant Rock market, a grocery store with a bakery and a deli, is also 5 minutes away on foot, and a great seafood/fresh fish store is right across Ocean Street. We have a deck with a great gas grill where you can relax. We have cable tv and internet access, as well as a small selection of dvds you can watch while you visit.

We discovered the South Shore of Massachusetts, all from this lovely location. We found all we needed for a delightful, peaceful, interesting week right in Marshfield and its nearby towns. I've lived year-round on Cape Cod, but now I prefer a week at Brant Rock. In 5 words: No Crowds! No Bridge Traffic! We stayed a week in late July, 2011, and are a middle-aged couple with young adult daughter who took off work for a week to join us. The two-floor, two rooms, beds (up to 5), two bathrooms, washer-dryer and good parking all made it all very comfortable for our two generations of adults. This would certainly also be a great house with younger children. Since a bus comes to Brant Rock from Boston, I'm checking off that it *could* be done without a car. We drove and had private parking alongside the house for 1 or 2 cars. Brant Rock is peaceful and family-friendly, with magnificent and sweeping ocean views, l80 degrees. There's an historic feel to it that we enjoyed very much in the nearby homes, although this one is modern and up-to-date. Lots of places say "steps to the beach" but in this case, it's true. The town shops made a great food-buying experience (freshest fish, ever!). We did some home-cooking as well as restaurants. This kitchen is equipped to make a real family meal, if you wish that. Places we visited and enjoyed (aside from Brant Rock): Plymouth MA (Cap'n John's WhaleWatching trip - amazing! plenty of whales and dolphins!), a modern harbor at Scituate, MA with historic lighthouse, the Daniel Webster home in Marshfield, and as happened that week: the annual agricultural fair in Marshfield. Since we love music, we went out some evenings for a blues-rock cafe with dancing (I think it was in Weyland, MA), an Irish brunch with live musicians on a Sunday morning. We found a do-able walking-hike at a big state beach seaside just south of Plymouth. We also spent time on beach chairs at "home" in Brant Rock, enjoying the peaceful sounds and sights. At the Brant Rock beach, we saw some people doing scuba activity and young families enjoying wind-surfing. Had we wanted to, we could've also taken a ferry boat from Plymouth to Provincetown (tip of the Cape), or driven right over the bridge, but I was glad to avoid Cape traffic yet enjoy everything I love about Cape Cod right here. Attentive hosts, perfect communication. A cared-for house, lovely couple. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

The location was fantastic for a great "Cape Cod Feel" vacation. We walked into town for our cranberry muffins, walked out onto the jetty to experience the Atlantic at its fullest and relaxed in a great house. The house was extremely clean, very comfortable, nicely decorated and had all of the sights, sounds and smells of a beach cottage.
