Sometimes, paradise is best appreciated for what’s missing.

On Molokai, for example, you won’t find traffic lights, elevators, neon signs or fast food wars. The pristine stretches of white sand beaches are just like the island’s streets: uncrowded and blissfully quiet. On Molokai, nothing’s taller than a palm tree. Molokai is one of those rare destinations where time has stood still.

Recently completed (2007), the house is situated on 6 acres overlooking Papohaku Beach with a commanding view of Oahu from across the Kaiwi Channel. Built in the fashion of a Hawaiian pole house, each room opens onto the wraparound lanaii through expanses of glass doors that take in the spectacular view. Dark hardwood floors throughout contrast the brightly painted walls and high ceilings to create an open, airy environment. Relax under the stars and take in the spectacular view of Oahu across the channel in our jacuzzi/hot tub nestled in with the bananna trees on the second floor lanai. All the necessities of home are included with an emphasis on relaxing and unwinding.

This is the west side where Kaluakoi is Molokai's principle resort area. You'll find numerous surf spots here for winter swells while summer swells hit the east side of the island. This is a mountain bikers paradise with trails everywhere. A ten minute walk puts you on Papohaku Beach, the largest white sand beach (3 miles long) in Hawaii.

Here you can literally walk for miles and not see another set of footprints. Maonaloa Town is a ten minute drive where you will find a charming setting surrounding the Lodge at Molokai and Molokai Ranch. A General Store, Kite Shop, and curio shops are located here.

We have set our rates low in order to attract clients to our newly built home in paradise. We are proud of our home and are confident that you will not be disappointed. Feel free to contact us with your questions or additional information. Manager/Caretaker on site.

Aloha and Mahalo.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2007

Vicki and I live in San Clemente, Ca. Vicki is a high school P.E teacher and I am a firefighter. We spend most of our free time at the beach surfing, stand-up paddling or just hanging out.

Why the Owner Chose Papohaku Beach

We chose the island of Molokai for it's beauty and simple lifestyle. It has all that Hawaii has to offer. It is a eco-naturalists paradise and is virtually unspoiled. The locals are very friendly and helpful and the pace is very leisurely and laid back. The house is situated on 6 acres of land on the west side in the Papohaku area. We love the Hawaii that exists away from the tourist areas.

The Unique Benefits of this House

Complete peace and quiet with the closest neighbor 500 feet away. The house (hale) is newly built and situated for unsurpassed views. The interior is finished with exotic hardwood floors, granite counter tops throughout and a fully stocked gourmet kitchen with an incredible view. The rear of the house opens to the lanai through a 25 foot sliding glass wall and all bedrooms have sliding patio doors onto the lanai. At night you relax under the incredible stars in our hot tub nestled amongst the banana trees on the lanai. Our goal was to build a retreat where one could find peace as well as adventure in a unique setting.

    • This was a perfect house for our family to get together during the Christmas holidays. We recently lost both our parents and wanted a nice serene place to all get together and heal. Steve and Vicki's home provided that ideal place for us to do that. It's clean, new, roomy, and really comfortable! It's located in a place where you have a lot of privacy but yet it's not far from the main town of Molokai. We all had a great time there and can't wait to go back soon.

      Homeowner Response:
Matt, Steve and I are so happy that we could provide you with a place of solace and healing in your time of grief. Thank you for the kind remarks. And please allow use to serve you and your family again soon. Aloha and ma halo, Vicki and Steve

    • What a beautiful house! It had everything you could possibly need for a memorable stay. Comfortable accomodations for large (or small) groups, beautiful interior and furnishings, awesome views and sunsets, short walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in the islands, jacuzzi on the deck under the stars - what more could you ask for?? We will definitely be back!!

    • After traveling in Hawaii, island hopping for 2 weeks and 3 islands later, we (2 couples),considered our stay on Molokai one of the best, if not,THE Best treasure of our experience. The sound of surf, open skies, tropical landscape, unending wide beautiful beach and all the wonderful domestic amenities one could ask for; made this trip a peaceful, memorable vacation. • My family and I sailed from Maui to Molokai and stayed IN this house for a week. WE HAD A BLAST! The west side is the best side in my opinion and you can't beat this location. You are close to all the nice beaches and can watch the sunset from the deck. This house is decked out with all the comforts of your own home and I would recommend it to anyone! Aloha, Casey

      Homeowner Response:

    • This was our first time to Molokai...but after staying here, it will not be our last. This home is AWESOME! The kitchen has everything you need, the rooms are very nicely appointed, and the views from every room are breath-taking. This is first class! Wish I was there now!
