Five Star Review - Very Comfortable Cabin

Guest: KMZ
Date of Stay: 03/25/12 Review Submitted: 04/10/12

My wife and I stayed at Bear's Den cabin for 4 nights March and had a very nice stay. The cabin was well furnished and very comfortable. It had all the conveniences one would want and the internet was very fast. It is located close enough to the main part of Gatlinburg and it was also easy to access other communities like the artist area. Although it is close to town, it is also private and quiet. Mountain Spring Break - Five Stars

Date of Stay: 03/19/12 Review Submitted: 04/10/12

Great stay in Gatlingburg...we have spent most of our Spring Breaks on the beaches of the Gulf Coast, but decided to head north this year and the experience was absolutely fantastic. The Bear's Den was the perfect place for us...nice, clean & cozy and great location...close enough to the attractions of Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge, but far enough away to relax and enjoy of little R&R..;. 5 Stars! Happy to be MARRIED!

Guest: Clarksville, TN
Date of Stay: 01/26/12 Review Submitted: 01/30/12

We came here the morning after our wedding and loved it! We have told everybody about Jackson Mountain Homes. The Bear's Den was nice and very clean which I was especially happy to see as we've been to some places and had to clean them when we got there. The location was the best of both worlds; it was super convenient, but once you got to the cabin there you couldn't tell that you weren't miles from civilization. http://www.flipkey.com/gatlinburg-cabin-rentals/p40472/#pdp-reviews-nav

Bear Sighting!

Guest: The Kendall Family
Date of Stay: 12/03/11 Review Submitted: 01/25/12

Great trip. Lots of nice details in the cabin. 2nd night, 7' black bear raided the garbage bin. He was unsuccesful because of the latch but he did get his claws inside and ripped the can liner. Much better than any of the thrill rides in town! We were most appreciative of being able to relax in a well stocked, well located, clean and attractive cabin. Particularly thankful that no tobacco smoke or pet odor. Nice clean air! Thank you.

We had a wonderful time with our friends who met us down here. They traveled from Mi. and us from al. The cabin was great. Very well stocked and convenient to everything. So close to downtown and the Park but felt like we were out in the country. Very peaceful except at 2:00 am when the bear woke us up trying to get into the trash the first night we were there. He really was loud! The next night we were all sitting on the porch and he came walking down the hill. He came in front of the cabin and went all the way around to the trash and checked it out and loped on up the other hill. It was so neat seeing him. We saw more bears this year than we ever have. Saw a mother and her cub along the road in the woods. It was a terrific trip and we would definitely stay here again.

5 Stars - Outstanding Cabin, Location, and Service

Guest: Jerry and Mary, Portsmoth, OH

We can't say enough good things about the Bear's Den and the services provided by JMH. The cabin was spotless. We were really impressed with the cleaning staff of JMH. No matter who you talk to at Jackson Mountain Homes, they are always friendly and wanting to please their customers. The Bear's Den is in a perfect location for us since it is minutes from downtown Gatlinburg but out far enough that you can get away from the bustle of town. The cabin is stocked with everything you need, plus some! The owners have done an outstanding job with decorating the cabin. From FlipKey: http://www.flipkey.com/gatlinburg-cabin-rentals/p40472/

Relaxing, Refreshing, Rejeuvenating! [FlipKey]

Date of Stay: 08/14/11 Review Submitted: 08/26/11

My husband and I were guests at the Bear's Den from August 7th until August 14th. Our daughter got married on August 6th and we were looking for a place to rest and relax after that event. I found the Bear's Den on vrbo.com and fell in love with the house the first time I saw it. It was exactly what we wanted: a house to relax in that was located somewhere peaceful and quiet. That's exactly what the Bear's Den was for us. It was located just about ten minutes* from Gatlinburg but you could not hear the hustle and bustle of Main Street. The house was clean and for a week felt like our "home away from home." Upon arrival, the people at Jackson Mountain Homes were friendly and very accommodating. We even received a basket of goodies from the owners thanking us for choosing the Bear's Den. This vacation will always be a very special memory for us. It allowed us to rest after a very busy, but happy, time in our lives. We would love to return and stay at the Bear's Den again someday. (* Owner's Note: The Bear's Den is IN Gatlinburg and 1 mile off the main Parkway thru downtown - Stoplight 3)

The Bear's Den was more than we expected. Not only could you stay in the cabin for days with all the comforts of home, it is close enough to everything you want to do in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge with out noise and congestion of being right on the strip. It is located very close to the Roaring Fork auto Loop in the Smoky Mountain National Forrest. Of all the sight seeing and hiking we did in the preserve, Roaring Fork was by far the best. We have rented several cabins throughout the Smoky and Blue Ridge mountains, and this cabin was the best. The next time we come back to the Gatlinburg area, we will stay at the Bear's Den. A Nice Cabin - The cabin was lovely. Parking was a bit difficult, but we figured it out. The directions to get there were misleading. Instead of saying to go around whatever, just say when at the intersection of -- and --(I don't remember the names of the two roads), the Bear's Den is past the intersection on your right. This was my first trip to Tennessee. I came to meed my cousins, aunts, and uncles. To my surprise, when I arrived it had snowed. First time I had ever seen it! It has now snowed since I have been here but it's been blanketing the ground and beautiful. The cabin is beautiful and Gatlinburg has become a favorite.

Dear Angie and Brian - Thank you for allowing our family to spend Christmas and the Bear's Den! Our family "started" here 7 years ago when my husband and I came here for our honeymoon - December 2003. We decided to bring our children to one of our favorite places - Gatlinburg, TN Mountains. Just like in '03, we got plenty of snow. The cabin felt like home away from home - Christmas decorations, games, movies and the "gas" fireplace - my favorite. We enjoyed thde snowy days sledding down the hill, building snowmen and relaxing in the hot tub! See you again!

Thank you guys. A nice change from the beach. Been coming to the mountains for years, but this is the first time I saw a bear 25 feet from me. My brother and I were on the Porch. He screamed, "Tamara get in the damn house . . . There's a BEAR!" Sure thing, I turned and looked . . . the bear looked at us and we had him. He shook his head and continued up the hill. This was about 8:40 PM. I felt that he was use to the road because he came from behind the cabin and took a left up the hill. Stayed on the road the whole time. I have seen black bears in a cage and also at Cades Cove but never so large. Guessing he would make 3 of Jimmy . . .so close to 600 pound? I hope you next guests enjoy. Wilmington, NC

There just isn't a better place to stay while you're in the beautiful Smoky Mountains! Thans you again Brian and Angie for sharing your lovely cabin. We walked several trails while here, went to Dollywood's "Festival of Nations", shopped, and ate REALLY WELL. We tried out the Ship Pub and Grill in the Craft Loop and loved it. Hot tub is GREAT! So peaceful. I like that you have everything you need and close to shops. We plan on coming back very soon to the cabin . . but we may have to bring the kids next time. Valentine's Weekend. Had an awesome time here at the cabin. My wife and I last year came to Gatlinburg for a "really special" weekend where I proposed to her on March 7th, 2009. She obviously said yes and we are now happily spending our marriage loving each other wholey and enjoying an incredible weekend in the mountains. The view is incredible at night and we love the hot tub. Poured down snow the first night. Had a really fun walk from the bottom of Hilltop Rd. to the cabin which makes for an even better story to tell when we get home for family and friends. Thanks for the stay . . . Kingsport, TN "2010"

Bear's Den is a beautiful log home, I don't want to say cabin because it is more than that. When the owner's tell you it is fully equipped, they are right! All you need to bring is yourself, some clothes and some food, you do not even need a hair dryer!! The kitchen has everything and anything you would need to cook with. The rooms are super nice, beds comfy and the hot tub warm! The weather called for snow and boy did we get it! It was a perfect 4 day weekend. Thanks so sharing your home with us!

Owner response:Jennifer - We're SO glad you enjoyed your trip! We were watching the weather and HOPED that you could navigate the snowy and icy roads. We're heading to the cabin on Friday to pack up the Christmas decor. We'd like to SEE a "little" snow while we're there too! Brian & Angie Davis

Beautiful log home! Bear's Den is a great getaway. We arrived after dark on Thur. evening and settled in nicely. Grilled hamburgers. The cabin is so nicely stocked. Everything you could need . . you have. Went downtown on Friday. Mostly window shopped. The weather forcasted snow and boy did the snow come down. We ate lunch at The Ship (yummy!!) and the snow started. We arrived back at the cabin before the roads became slick. It continued to snow /sleet on and off all night into Sat. Four Thirty-Somethings had a blast playing in the snow!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

When we arrived, we were greeted by "Mamma Bear & 2 Cubbies". We had a fantastic trip. Weather was great! Peaceful . . loads of shopping. We are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Magical!

We really enjoyed our stay in your cabin and appreciate all gthe little things you have done to make it feel like a "home away from home". We had a visitor at 3 AM the second night we were there. A loud banging noise woke us up and a look out our bathroom window caught us by surprise! A large black bear was sitting on the rock beside the trash holder trying to open the cans. He was not successful but did manage to uproot the metal base they were sitting in. We liked the added excitement to our trip. Your cabin has the appropriate name of "Bear's Den"! P.S. - WiFi was a nice addition to your ammenities.

WE felt like we wer home the minute we walked in. You had everything we could possibly need. And we enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace. Thanks so much for a lovely stay. P.S. I'm from California so the Smoky Mountains in the Fall was a real treat!

Your cabin is beautiful and had everything we needed. We were only here a few days but had a wonderful time. This trip will always be special because our daughter and her fiance came with us and he "Officially" proposed to our daughter and gave her a beautiful engagement ring. Who knows, maybe someday they'll come back to this cabin, just the two of them. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cabin.
