Julie Thank you so much for sharing such a special spot in the world with us. I have rented other mountain cabins in the surrounding area, but your place does not even compare, truly in a league all its own. We were both in need of a relaxing, quiet weekend away from the city and your cabin was ideal. The moment we arrived we were both drawn to the porch and instantly fell in love with the tranquil surroundings. Countless hours were spent relaxing on the porch swing and rocking chairs just staring out into the gorgeous nature that surrounds the property. We were able to get two great mountain biking rides in, on Saturday rode Flat Creek Trail of Aska Rd, and Sunday got really muddy in Cohutta National Forest. We had an absolute blast. But most of all we had time to really enjoy each other and being together. We will definitely be back!!! Thank you again!!!

Julie - sorry it's taken so long to write this review. We had a wonderful, relaxing week at the cabin. We felt like no one else in the world knew just where we were. I had surgery to remove a benign brain tumor in August (and am doing great, by the way). My husband had no vacation this summer except to sit by my bedside in the hospital for six days, so this trip was all about him. The creek and the woods are so beautiful. It was just a few minutes drive to activities when we wanted to get out, but mostly we just wanted to stay at the cabin and relax to the sounds of the creek and the leaves falling. The rain made it even more peaceful and serene - it was surreal. Thanks so much for always being so accessible and responsible - nothing wrong at the cabin - just me and 20 questions - LOL! Thanks again for sharing your place with us!

This was one of the best vacations we had in a long time. The cabin is a fisherman's dream and the stream is clear and awesome. Plenty of things to do in the vicinity, we went whitewater rafting on the Oconee.

FATHER'S DAY- We had a wonderful relaxing long weekend. Even the kids learned to relax! We got in the hot-tub (a lot!), fished, grilled, and sat on the porch. We would love to try to come back this Fall.

We've had a great time here, its been a relaxing time. We've caught a good many fish, but none really big enough to keep. Today we went tubing in Macaysville. Lots of fun. We visited Mecier Orchards and got some goodies. We have spent every evening here relaxing in the hot tub, fishing, and grilling. A much needed vacation. We will definitely be back. The cabin is perfect! Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful place!

We had a great time. Rode the train, went to the Swinging Bridge, and Fall Branch Falls. The birdge and falls are a wonderful drive and the hikes are both short. Kids loved getting out on their bikes. GREAT cabin!!!

Hey guys! WOW!!! We had a fantastic time here for 5 days!! We live such hectic lives in the city and really needed to embrace some peace & quiet. You have the perfect place for that. We migrate from thhe rocking chairs to the swing to the hot tub and to the dining table---all placed perfectly on the river! WHAT A VIEW! Oh-- and a highlight for me--being a huge city girl--was going fishing for my first time ever and even caught a small fish on my first cast. Rusty and I had a terrific trip. It was our first official weekend together just the two of us. Rusty popped the B-I-G question so this was a special weekend no doubt! We had a really good time this weekend. The cabin was so PERFECT! It was very enjoyable, especially since it was so well stocked!! Items such as napkins, olive oil, a hair dryer (!), extra towels made it easy to relax & not have to return to the store for forgetten items (hair dryer was a save!). We loved this beautiful porch, and hiking around. The rushing water in the stream was a NICE BONUS!! Happy New Year!

Thrid time back! Once again our week of R & R was great! Driving tour #2 & #3 were wonderful--next year we will try #2 at night--the view was unbelieveable! The drive-in theater was fun--Harry Potter!! But the best was just relaxing on the deck with a few drinks! We look forward to returning again next year!!!!

EMAIL TO OWNER: (both have been edited due to space) I am writing to tell you how disgusted I was with your property. The thought of bugs in the bed is really sickening to me & my guest. Plus the fact that it seems you disconnected from me & since I had to use your phone at the property & you did not even try a return call to me. And, you haven’t even tried to contact any of us that stayed there even after asking for everyone’s cell phone numbers. I wanted to let you know about the yellow stains on the comforter on the same bed as the bugs. The other bed appeared to have been previously slept in, so my guests had to move to the living room. If you did set off a bug bomb prior to our arrival, you could have warned us, but you didn’t even mention it during our phone call before I did, then it was “yes, yes, I set off a bug bomb”, and you also said that you personally washed the comforter on that bed? Many of the dishes were not clean and I encountered several of the bugs in the kitchen. Glad I washed everything in the kitchen prior to use and that we brought our own bath linens, especially if you set off a bug bomb prior to our arrival. We have looked up the bugs and they are flying carpenter ants which are caused by damp wood, hence the musty smell in the cabin. Musty smells are caused by mold and/or mildew damage. I am allergic to mold AND mildew and had a hard time when I was in the cabin, especially sleeping. There seems to be a leak between the fireplace and the loft, but I’m sure you already know about it. RESPONSE FROM OWNER: We could not find the “yellow stain”. The maid and my mom said that they did not see any bugs, or smell a musty smell. The cabin is made out of CEDAR logs, so apparently you do not like that smell. Thank you for informing us about the leak. There are previous stains from a leak years before we purchased it. No other guest have had any complaints. Maybe in the future you should not stay near water. All the beds had clean sheets on them. I had stood on the bed to take the curtain down to wash and iron it. That is why you probably saw the wrinkles. Sorry, I thought I smoothed them out. I did not inform you about our maintenance items, such as spraying for bugs. Maybe God wants you to open a cleaning business.

Owner response:I find this hard to believe when I had spent 4 days up there major Spring cleaning before your check in. Yes, the cabin was treated for insects as an annual treatment. I didn't think I had to report to our guest the maintenance items. I also, washed ALL the bedding including the blankets, mattress covers, and comforters.I also washed and ironed all the curtains. I had to stand on the bed to put the clean curtains back up. Sorry if if did not get the sheets smoothed out flat. I thought I did. I can assure you that the sheets were clean because I put them on! The maid, myself, and my mother never found the "yellow" stain you mentioned. Also in addition to the normal cleaning, the furnace filter was changed, ceiling fans dusted, oven & refrigerator cleaned, floors waxed, new mulch put outside, & new cabin decorations put out. The water stains you saw on the WOOD wall were from years and yeas ago before we owned it. I know of no ways to get rid of stains on the wood. The cabin is made out of cedar logs. Therefore it does have a slight oder of cedar. Past clients love this! It is located right beside a beautiful stream!!! Sorry, that is why we love the cabin! I am extremely allergic to mold and mildew and never have a problem. We try to make our "little slice of heaven" a pleasant place to go to. We so appreciate the past clients that thanked us for their stay. They also thanked us for all the extras we try to do for our guest. We have tons of repeat clients that return every year for one to two weeks at a time. We hope you have a happier life staying in a hotel! :)

Hi Julie, We are back home and just wanted to say that we really enjoyed your cabin and the creek. It was so peaceful and restful. We had great fires in the fireplace and we loved the drinking water. It was so cold and good. The hot tub was very nice and the whole experience was really fun. It rained most of the day on Thurs. so we just hung out on the deck, listened to the water, and read. Friday we took a really long drive through the Cohutta National Forest which was really fun. Narrow winding dirt roads that maneuvered through the mountains. We saw beautiful views, streams, waterfalls, etc. It was cold, and cloudy but still fun. We left a note in the Cabin with the route in case someone else wants to try it. This cozy cabin gave us the perfect location to get plenty of rest and relaxation. The inside décor of the cabin fits well with its natural surroundings; wood burning fireplace and comfy couches. The rockers and porch swing on the covered deck that overlooks the stream (which is more like a rushing river when it’s swollen due to rain) drew us outside even on rainy days, and soaking in the hot tub while listening to the sound of the water rushing over the rocks creates a peaceful atmosphere that puts you in a great mood, so you do not have to be a fisherman to appreciate the wonderful amenities of this cabin.

What an INCREDIBLE Christmas week our family has had! Indeed, a "little slice of Heaven"--Thank you, Julie, for your thoughtfulness in having Christmas movies for our girls. As soon as we walked in, we knew it was the perfect cozy Christmas cabin. Our girls decorated a beautiful freshly cut tree and enjoyed making a precious gingerbread house. I hope you don't tire of hearing how great your cabin is, because it is absolutely perfect. It was quite chilly while we were here, with a little left over snow on the ground, so we didn't get to enjoy the river and balcony too much, but it was so cozy inside.We tried to sample some of Blue Rdiges' fine dining, but by 7:30, everything but fast food was closed! We took scenic driving #3 (look in the back of your information notebook) and enjoyed a gorgeous day of beautiful scenery. Thank you for everything!

I must say this cabin is nestled away in the Blue Ridge mountains and was everything me and my family thought it would be. The sound of the rushing water on Fightingtown Creek is, WOW. We look forward to return for future family vacations and exploring the Blue Ridge area some more. The driveway is quite tricky to get into but thats secondary to the peaceful and extremely relaxing time you will have. Steve and Lindy are very customer focused and do a great job managing the rental. Thanks again for a time we will cherish for years to come.

"What an amazing time we had! My husband and I were blown away by the beauty of the cabin (so homey and comfortable) and the breathe taking landscape.
