Beautiful home with everything you need to relax and enjoy the italian countryside. Farfa lets you experience Italy off the beaten track of the larger cities, no tourist traps here. Easy access to small towns and a half hour ride to commuter train into Rome. Great restaurants that are worth trying while staying at the Abbey House, providing local specialties that will satisfy your appetite, include Il Cantinone in Castelnuovo de Farfa, Home has beautiful views and refreshing pool. Don't forget to make a stop on Fridays and Saturdays to the Macelleria (butcher) just down the road from the Abbey House where you can find not only the finest meats but also very fresh! Guido was very helpful and available to answer any questions through out the trip. Plenty of room for family of 10. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Italy countryside, May 2011

We loved our stay at Guido's country home. It was very much like the pictures, clean, neat and very comfortable. We loved coming home from Rome each night to the quiet calm of the beautiful Italian countryside. Guido had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. He was very friendly and helpful and we loved looking at his Automata museum. We drove 30-45 minutes to the Rietta subway station each morning to travel into the sites of Rome. The Abbey is up the hill about 1/2 mile away with cute little artist shops and a couple of places to eat in the morning and possibly the evening. The grocery store is in Montopoli about 10-15 minutes away. It was a great trip and we would love to return. Thank you, Guido! Lisa V. (May 28-June 4, 2011)

Accurate Description

Guest: gh (Alabama, USA)
Date of Stay: 07/16/10 Review Submitted: 11/08/10

Clean, rustic farmhouse style with all conveniences in a rural setting and wonderful peaceful views - dining inside and outside to enjoy the view. Must have car. Convenient for many day trips and train station to Rome. We were a family of 11 staying for a summer month in 2010 - large rooms, nice baths. Guido introduced us to all necessary locations for things we would need and was very responsive when we had questions. There were no disappointments. We all would like to return.

Owner response:We hope to have gh and her very nice family here again. We should say guests, but the true word is friends.

We were 11 persons (3 families). We lived in the Abbey house, July 2007. The house is located i a perfect place, a very nice area. The house is very big and everything we needed was available. We really enjoyed the trip and the Abbey house was a big factor wich made our trip successful. Many thanks to the owner of the house. We strongly recommed The Abbey house for those who likes nature, outside big city. Kamil
