Key Largo offers some of the finest diving and snorkeling in the Florida Keys. One of the main attractions in Key Largo is the John Pennekamp State Park. There are many dive companies that run guided trips to the park and to area sunken wrecks just off Key Largo.
Islamorada is the next island destination just south of Key Largo. Islamorada is known for it's world class sport fishing. Each season welcomes new fishing tournaments and angling opportunities. Bonefishing is especially popular with large bonefish up into the 10lb. Range. Offshore sport fishing can be equally exciting during the winter months for sailfish just off the reefs of Islamorada.
Many restaurants available close by to chose from. Founders Park , with all types of activities such as temperature controlled pool , skating , basket ball court , tennis court, dock facilities and picnic areas , Golf at Hawk Keys resort. We had an amazing time at this property over the Christmas Holidays. The house suited our family well and had all the amenities that were required to make our trip memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed having our dinners on the patio overlooking the canal and were lucky enough to see a family of manatee, some iguanas, and some rare exotic birds. The beach nearby (Founders) was awesome and so private and the local restaurants were delicious. Some will even cook your fishing yield which was a treat! There was also a lot to do in the near vacinity - a marine park, a flea market, a sunset cruise excursion, fishing (of course), just to name a few... The owner was fabulous to deal with and was quick to respond to any questions that we had. We would certainly rent this property again (and look forward to doing so).
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

The best thing is that the owner is repsonsive to questions and there if you need help. Great views, nice balcony, downstairs with the fish cleaning, dock, and tiki area is very nice. Three fishing buddies in our 50’s and 60’s spent a great week in this home. The home’s location on a wide, deep, clean canal provided easy access to Florida Bay and the Atlantic Ocean via Tavernier Creek. The 3 bedroom home’s design provides maximum utility and must have been decorated by an interior designer. The great room is laid out for easy viewing of the canal area and tv viewing for those days when you just want to stay in and relax. If you choose to eat-in, the kitchen and eating area are all well appointed. The master bedroom with private bathroom has plenty of room and the other two bedrooms are designed to maximize sleeping accommodations. Downstairs, you’ll find the dock, fish cleaning station, grilling, dining and chickee all in immaculate condition as are the grounds. While the boy’s week found the wind to strong to go offshore, the second week with one of the guys and several couples found the weather very accommodating. The home’s location provided easy access to multiple dive and snorkeling reefs within 3 – 5 miles in the Atlantic Ocean. There are multiple excellent restaurants, marinas, shopping and grocery stores within 3 miles via US-1. Next year the boy’s hope to be able to rent again, we highly recommend Julio’s home.

My family and I stayed in the house a week in February 2011. It is a very nice house. Everything worked perfect and there is a nice feeling of home there. We had contact with the owner several times, and he was always responding very quickly to my questions, wich is priceless, when you are 5000 miles away. Plantation Key is the perfect starting point for a vacation that can include both the Keys, Everglades and Miami. I can warmly recommend this property, both because of location and the people who own it. Thank you Julio and family for letting us rent your lovely house

My wife and I were fortunate enough to find this listing online. Elaina and Julio are your hosts and are a wonderful couple. Their home is beautifully kept and we had an absolutely wonderful experience with both Julio and his wife and their property. I only wish that I could buy a property in the neighborhood so that I could enjoy it at any time. The restaurants in the area are terrific and the fishing beyond belief. My advice? GO FOR IT!!!!

Our family really enjoyed this house for 9 days over the Christmas holidays. We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers. The house was neat and clean. The Wi-Fi was a big plus for us. The location is convenient on MP90. We really enjoyed the small beach, pool (both 4 mi. South), bike/jogging path, gymn, and the canal in the rear of the property. Very convenient to shopping, theatre, restaraunts, etc. Our kids really enjoyed fishing from the dock as well as watching the manatees and a dolphin in the canal.The owners were very easy to work with and check to be sure everything was suitable. I would highly recommend this property.

The property is accurately described per the listing and in a very safe neighborhood. A meticulously maintained property. The owners were a pleasure to work with and were eager to insure a happy stay. We brought our boat with us and if you have one by all means bring it with you! Fishing was good and if you just like to cruise that would also work. Plenty of space for your trailer. A very short ride to gulf or ocean. We enjoyed watching all the activity in the canal each day and were treated by a visit by a manatee family. We found Mrs. Mac's Kitchen to be a local restaurant worth repeat visits. The Tavernier restaurant is walking distance and very good.
