We stayed for a week and loved every minute - the views from the deck and the pool are breathtaking, and we enjoyed days on the beach hunting for stones to make photoframes provided by camp Peggy! we never heard "I'm bored" once from the usually hard to please teenagers. Would recomment this place to anyone!

Thank you Bruce and Peg - Your property is spectacular and your hospitality was wonderful. The cabin was spotless when we arrived as were the grounds. The kids lived in the pool and could not have been happier. You both afforded us the privacy we desired yet were there when we had questions or wanted recommendations. A fabulous vacation!

Unbelievable. The view, the wildlife, sunrises, amenities, and ofcourse your hosts. The photos do not due this property justice. Very roomy, comfortable cabin, but with floor to ceiling windows, you feel as though your outside at all times. We did not want to leave. I love this place and you will too! Thanks Peggy and Bruce for everything!

Our family stayed at this wonderful vacation home in August, 2009. The lovely memories have lingered all year. Our three teenagers are longing to return. If you are looking for a little piece of Heaven on Earth, this is it! We loved the peace and quiet, the relaxed pace, the cozy, comfortable cabin, and the gracious, thoughtful owners. One of our favorite memories is of sitting on the deck one balmy summer night, looking at a billion stars in the endless sky above. The views from this home are breathtaking, quite possibly the most beautiful in all north Idaho. And with the view comes a lush, green lawn, lovely flower gardens, a pristine beach, the fragrance of the pine trees and a fabulous, private pool. Our family would most definitely vote to stay here again.

If you want to spend your vacation in awe, this is the place to visit! Our family spent a long weekend at the Getty's beautiful cabin and it is still a place I am talking to my friends and co-workers about! This cabin is perfect for 4-6 people to have a fun weekend, but cozy enough to make for a romantic trip for two. The view is unbelievable - your jaw will drop the minute you walk in. The kitchen was perfect for making meals in, but Sandpoint offered fun restaraunts to try as well. After spending time curled up by the fireplace reading, soaking in the hot tub, hiking, sight-seeing, and having quality time with my family, I am anxoius to get back for more! A perfect place to relax, go on adventures, and be in awe of your natural surroundings. Peg and Bruce take excellent care of each of their guests and the cabin feels like your home away from home. You'll be booking your next visit before you've even left!

My wife and I stayed here over this past winter for a week. What an incredible place. The location is unbelievable. The views are very beautiful. I want to go back during the summer as this place has so much to offer. The owners are very nice and accommodating, and they took great pride in the cabin they rent out. And they did some great restoration to it. The bed king size bed was super comfortable and the fire place was nice. You won't regret renting. A great vacation spot for your family. If you have any questions please email me and I would be happy to answer them.

Our family stayed at the Talache Guest House while visiting the Sandpoint area for a family wedding and the Coeur d’Alene Ironman Triathlon. What a beautiful spot and oh, the breathtaking views!! Peg and Bruce were superb hosts, welcoming our entire family and making the time in Northern Idaho a truly memorable experience. The accommodations were ideal for our family, with multiple sleeping arrangements, full kitchen, comfortable living area, and a relaxing deck all among the gorgeous views of Lake Pend Oreille. We took many walks nearby and enjoyed the accessibility of the lake for skipping rocks! A highlight was sitting around the fire pit surrounded by family and friends, while enjoying the quiet and serene evening.Of particular interest is seeing all the work, sweat, and love that Peg and Bruce have put into the property to make it what it is today—an ideal vacation spot with personal touches everywhere. Thanks to Peg and Bruce for sharing their little slice of heaven with the Carlson family!

My husband and I were on a quest to find the perfect get-away. We hit gold! The accommodations were very private and down right romantic! The view of Lake Pend Oreille is stunning ~ never tiring of this breath taking scene. We watched a pair of Bald Eagles nesting in a tree top outside our door! We spent long afternoons beach combing, and lounging at pool side and spent romantic evenings sipping wine in front of the glowing fireplace. We are anxious to return to our Shangra-La on the panhandle of Idaho. Plenty of room to bring friends or kids too.

We have lived and vacationed all over the United States...Lake Pend Oreille is simply the prettiest lake in the country...Equal parts pristine and undeveloped. Lake Tahoe has nothing on LPO. And, having been to Sandpoint dozens of times, there is no better view of the lake than from Bruce and Peg Getty's home at the end of Talache. The only thing sweeter than the view are Bruce and Peg themselves. I can't recommend the accommodations enough.

Our family had a wonderful vacation last summer at the Talache Guest House just outside of Sandpoint, Idaho. This was the first time we had been to Lake Pend Oreille and we were not disappointed. The lake area is beautiful. The house was fully equipped and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed several day trips in and around the area; venturing as far south as Coeur d'Alene where we enjoyed an extremely large street festival of performers and artists. For me, I most enjoyed sitting on the deck reading my summer stash of books often distracted by the eagle soaring overhead or staring out at the unbelieveable views from the deck or taking a plunge and having a refreshing swim in the pool. Our thanks to Bruce and Peg who were the most accommodating and knowledgeable of hosts; answering all of our questions and pointing us in the right direction for our day trips. Their communication with us through the booking process was timely and well done. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Talache Guest House and would highly recommend this property to others looking for a relaxing vacation in a very beautiful location.
