A fabulous, air-conditioned, custom-built model home that was featured in Southern Living & Coastal Living magazines. Completed in 2001 by a Sarasota award-winning architectural team, it provides the highest standards of comfort and luxury.
The house is located by sandy Conrad Beach on the Northern tip of Longboat Key and within a small beachside community located between historic Longbeach Village and a Gulfside sugar-sand beach known for its Dolphin sightings, turtle-watches and glorious sunsets! A 120 acre coastal nature preserve is just north of the property as are excellent fishing opportunities and marina facilities. Many fine waterfront restaurants are within easy reach including two within walking distance - as is a local supermarket and a variety of small shops. Within a few minutes' drive are golfing, tennis and many other sporting facilities, wildlife parks and also Sarasota's popular St. Armand's Circle.
The property comprises 5,800 square feet of under-roof space and accommodates up to eight persons.
A private driveway leads to the front entrance and fine wooden staircase leads up from the porch to the main living areas.
On the first level up is the fully-carpeted lounge with two comfortable leather sofas. For your enjoyment there is cable TV (300+ channels including several premium movie & sports channels), a DVD, VCR and a CD player/music system that can supply music throughout the entire property. Sliding glass doors open up to the South-facing balcony on which there are two rocking chairs.
On the same floor is the formal dining room with tables and chairs seating eight. Here there is a large and comfortable sleeper-sofa. Glass sliding doors open onto the South-facing balcony, again with two rocking chairs. Adjoining the dining area is a delightful wet-bar.
Off the hallway is the study, equipped with a computer (with high-speed internet access), a wireless router for use with your own laptop, a telephone/fax machine from which free local, long-distance and international calls can be made, copier and printer.
The hallway leads on to the luxury kitchen with built-in stainless steel appliances (including a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee percolator etc) and a central island stove with four gas-controlled hobs, granite counter-tops and an additional dining area with window seating and an outdoor view of the palm-tree filled courtyard below. The kitchen also has its own cable-TV. There are plenty of pots & pans, crockery, drinking glasses and silverware.
The laundry room has a full-size washer, a dryer, sink, iron, ironing board and a vacuum cleaner.
Next to the laundry room is a half-bathroom with pedestal sink and wc.
At the end of the hall-way is the very spacious master bedroom with its beautiful four-poster king-size bed, a chaise-longue, oak furnishings, flat-screen cable TV, a DVD, a small balcony on one side overlooking the courtyard and another overlooking Conrad Beach's community pool and the surrounding tropical gardens. The tremendous master bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath-tub, a separate and spacious granite shower, his and her vanity units, separate WC with bidet, full-length mirrors, a hair-dryer and has windows overlooking the pool. There are his & her walk-in designer closets offering plenty of storage and hanging space.
The staircase from the hallway leads up to two private guest suites, each with its own full bathroom, custom-made double beds, flat-screen TVs (each with DVD), hair-dryers, quality window treatments and beautiful views of the community pool and tropical landscaping.
A further staircase leads up to the spacious roof terrace with magnificent 360 degree Gulf and Bay views - a wonderful place to view some magnificent sunsets.
Nestled below and between the main living areas of the house is the home's private and secluded open-air courtyard with its dining table and seating for 6-8 persons. Adjoining the courtyard is the home's private covered games area in which is a billiard/snooker table and a table-tennis table. A short pathway leads to the (almost private!) Conrad Beach heated pool, free use of which is available to the residents of Conrad Beach and their guests.
Throughout the house are luxury linens, custom-made down duvet covers, large artwork, high quality furnishings, cable-TV in the lounge, kitchen & every bedroom room, a sound system (with individual controls in each room, in the courtyard, games area & roof-terrace)! The flooring is a mixture of hardwood, artistic tiling and Burberry carpeting.
The home has plenty of parking, storage space and a two garages, one of which houses bicycles, beach-chairs, inflatables & beach & water toys, the use of which is free but of course at your own risk.
All linen and towels - even beach towels - are provided, as is plenty of cutlery, dishes, glasses, pots & pans and kitchen utensils.
Sorry, pets are not normally permitted and there's no smoking inside the house but the porch, courtyard, numerous balconies and the roof terrace provide numerous areas for smokers.
Home protection facilities include smoke detectors,fire extinguishers, a sprinkler and monitored house-alarm system.
Check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out is by 11 a.m. unless otherwise arranged.
A down-payment of $500 per week reserved is required to secure a reservation. Final balances are due one month prior to arrival and can be paid by check, via Paypal or by bank transfer.
