My boyfriend and I have made a yearly trip to Destin and this was our first time staying at the Luau. It was beyond our expectations! The owner is incredibly easy to work with, always responds in a timely manner and assists you with beginning and ending your vacation in a stress-free fashion! The pool, and hot tub, is fabulous and you could not ask for more! The room is especially clean with quality amenities! The walk to the beach is so short and convenient, I wouldn't quite say it is even two minutes. There are many things around with transportation available so whether you have a vehicle or not there are many things to keep you busy. We felt very comfortable throughout our stay. Everywhere felt very safe, we were not worried about where we kept our car and belongings. We highly recommend staying at the Luau and working with this owner, we will always take this route in the future!

The owner is extremely easy to deal with..The room was perfect for what we were looking for...Me and my 11 year old son went for Spring Break (APR 10). We had an incredible time the condo was great and so was the resort....Very family friendly, and a great place for a single parent to take their children...You are able to have a drink with dinner and not worry about driving...The shuttle service was great...My son played pick up basketball every single morning....there were tons of kids on the court....always a game going....I asked the owner what "were the things to do" at the resort.....I told him what I was looking for.....he gave me several recommendations....It was perfect....I highly recommend the resort..and it's great to deal with an owner who takes care of you from the start to the finish....
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.

This condo unit is a great stay for a couple with plenty of room. The view off the balcony is absolutely beautiful spanning from the ocean to the bay. The unit is very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed all the amenities from sailing, kayaking, bicycling, swimming, running and of course shopping!. The owner is by far the BEST we have ever dealt with, he responds very quickly ALWAYS!!! At the last minute we had a family emergency and could not arrive on the date of our reservation. We were able to shift our reservation forward by one day The owner was very accommodating with no hesitation...such a pleasure to work with! This is the second time we have rented this condo. It is also nice when making the reservation that the owner provides you with a total price with no hidden and extra fees! We will be returning to this unit again and again!!!

This was our first trip to this area. The Luau is a beautiful condo in a gated community. Felt very safe and it was quiet. We went for our 10th anniversary without our children but said we will bring them next time. A wonderful family atmosphere with plenty for kids to do. Pool, kiddie pool and hot tub all very nice. Short walk to the beach. Room gorgeous but like another reviewer- balcony is for standing only. Bed super comfy and we slept soundly each night. Beautiful fireworks display on Thursday night visible from balcony. We utilized the fitness room which is adequate. Plenty of shopping and dining within a short driving distance. Well stocked kitchenette for the size of it- mixing bowls, cutting board, hot pads, plates, glasses, bowls, mugs, coffee pot with filters, microwave and small fridge, place mats, silverware, bottle top and cork remover.We will definitely be returning. The things that I didn't like so much was that they charge a ridiculous amount for internet access, thank goodness for the 3G network and our iphones! Also, no hand soap was provided yet there was dish soap was provided so that was very odd. We were first timers to Destin and had no clue about where things were or what to do. There is no info in the condo about the resort or surrounding areas and we just had to figure it out ourselves. I'm sure we missed plenty of things simply because there was no info provided. There is only one hook on the door for towels. Definitely need more towel racks for hanging. You've got bath towels and beach towels and nowhere to hang anything to dry.No housekeeping service the entire stay so you've got to have a place to dry towels... The shuttle is only available to those who book directly through the Sandestin resort as are the beach chairs/umbrellas- be prepared to drive yourself and bring your own chairs/umbrellas. Also, wanted to mention that the owner is very easy to deal with and responds VERY quickly to any emails. Great place to stay- you will love it!

The unit is great for the money. It is clean, the owner is easy to work with, and the location is perfect. The pool is huge, and the beach is just a short walk away. The only disappointment was the balcony. It is only large enough to stand on. If you want a balcony to hang out on, you will not have room, it is two feet deep. But don't get me wrong, the unit is still a great value and we would stay here again!!

I have stayed in this condo before and we had the absolute best time ever! The location of the Luau is PERFECT and within walking distance of everything you need. The unit itself was in excellent conditon-like New!! The pools were absolutely beautiful, as well at the food and drinks they served right there. It's very nice and quiet. I felt extremely safe in the parking garage. There were plenty of luggage carts to use and easy access to the elevators. We have another trip planned to this same condo here shortly!! We can't wait!!! The owner is extremely helpful and generous. I have contacted him several times over the years and he responds immediately!! Thanks for much for all of your help! We plan to stay at the Luau for many years to come!!

We just got back from here and really enjoyed our stay. The view is beautiful and it is such a short walk to the beach. And if you want to do some shopping or eatting, you can be picked up by the sandestin bus (they are like taxi's in new york) and they take you anywhere within there travel area, just take the cards provided and pick up the phone. The room was just what we needed and we will return.

My husband and I took our 6 month old son on his first beach vacation. We stayed at the beautiful Luau. This condo is nicely decorated with just what you would need for a family of our size. The room was big enough for all of our belongings, including our son's pack and play and exersaucer! The bathroom was very roomy and the mini kitchen was a big plus. The view from the balcony is beautiful. The pool has a nice atmosphere with the music playing and the beach is so close. This was our first time to stay at the Luau and we were very pleased. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you are looking for something nice with a family atmosphere that is within view of the beach.
