We stayed here for 2 nights in August, 2011. It was absolutely amazing. The view is beautiful and the house was exactly what we expected. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Wonderful !!!!
Owner response:I always enjoy my guests and am pleased to hear that they have enjoyed the house and Homer so much. There is so much to see and do in this area that you should spend an extra day off of the road and explore our area

The house has a beautiful view across the water, not really obvious in the photos. But the water is very far away! Take binoculars. It's very isolated, clean. We were very comfortable. You will need a car to get to Homer.

Pat, Steve and I had been on a birding field trip for 10 days. We wanted some extra time in Alaska where we could do things at a slower pace and just appreciate the setting, as well as the flora and fauna. Holly and Rex's Alaskan Cottage certainly fit the bill. Situated on a bluff, the cottage has beautiful views and lots of birds flying by. The cottage sits on a lovely setting and Homer is a wonderful place to visit. We were very comfortable with the accommodations and hope to return for the Shorebird Festival in a subsequent year. We will return all the best, Susie, Steve and Pat

Thank you so much for letting us stay for the weekend. We loved it. We don't want to leave. It is so quiet and the morning is beautiful and even more beautiful is sunset. It was sooo pretty. We just sat and watched it till it turned night.

We stayed here while fishing with the Winter King charters. It could not have been more perfect in every way,. from the comfy beds and fine linens to the most marvelous view of the bay, lakes, birds and wildlife. Would do it all again Kathie and George from Ashland Oregon

What a great place to stay. We were very comfortable. This house is very well equipped. And thanks for the view and the raven air show with an eagle or 2 flying by.

We spent our mornings out on the deck watching the wildlife. An eagle nests in a tree right on the beach. Otters play out in the shallows and as the tide goes out a colony of seals use the exposed rocks to sun themselves. The view from every angle is superb. Loved it!

We've stayed in this wonderful cabin and have rented it for my son and his girlfriend as well. It's quiet, beautifully kept up with nice "Alaskan" decor, really roomy, clean with a wonderful view and minutes away from Homer. The ravens like to catch the drafts and ride them up and down the cliff. It's such a treat to sit outside on the deck, see the beauty of Kachemak Bay in such a serene place.

We are at the end of 11 amazing days in Alaska. Staying in this beautiful "cottage" was the best! We were so comfortable. You have thought of everything. We will be back. I'll tell everyone to stay here with you. Thanks for the I-pod dock. It was icing on the cake.

As always, the house and views were spectacular. I do want you to know we truly appreciate all the little extra and thoughtful items you place in your house. They show you care and have people in your thoughts. This too places your accomodation way above the others. Thanks for everything.

We had 4 wonderful days here in homer and enjoyed every minitue of our time on land and then on the water with you and Rex. Our last night gave us a sight that we couldn't believe-A full yellow moon over the snow capped mountains. WOW! No post card picture can ever duplicate that sight. We loved staying here and look forward to seeing you next year.

wonderfully secluded, but easy access off the stirling highway. we found your cottage self sustained and thoughtfully outfitted in one of the most spectacular settings i have been in. wildlife, volcano and astronomy viewing from the cottage and it's decks are beautiful. we found many family activities to pursue in homer, from fishing, kayaking, sea planing and horseback riding. it felt like a fabulous home away from home, and accommodated us all comfortably. we thank you for your wonderful hospitality/service! we hope to return for a repeat performance, joanne and kids
