This spacious 4800 square foot home with five bedroom suites and en-suite bathrooms can comfortably accommodate up to 14 people.
From the moment you see the color of Zen del Mar’s claret red painted exterior, historically used by the Mayans to promote good energy, you will begin to relax. The hand-made terra cotta tiled floors and the heavy wooden double Doors greet you with a feeling of being on vacation in Mexico. The floor plan of Zen del Mar is a designed synergy of indoor and outdoor spaces that maximize the ability to be outdoors and indoors all at the same time. The first floor doors disappear into the hidden wall reveals to create wide open spaces to the 60 foot long pool, the lounging patio, the sand patio and ten hardwood Lounge chairs.
The Villa was designed by its owner and marries elements of modern Mexican architecture with local Mayan craftsmanship. The designers, who have traveled extensively, have used pieces from global destinations and the world of fashion to create a different type of beach house.

I visited Zen Del Mar for a girl's trip in November and the experience could not have been more perfect. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. It is magnificent and seemed like it was out of a magazine or a movie. The owner took care of all of our requests and needs and then some. He could not have been more gracious, welcoming or hospitable. The house is as comfortable and tranquil and as it is beautiful. We visited the cenotes and Tulum while we were there and both were magical. For our big night out we hired a car service to take us into Playa. The restaurants in Akumal were excellent and we had dinner cooked at the house two nights which I highly recommend. I can't wait to go back and I would and have suggested this place to everyone I know.

Zen del Mar was a magical vacation. Located on the ocean, with walking access to the lovely Akumal, a village that is safe, welcoming, with cafes, boutiques and surf shops. The house itself sleeps 14, has 5 bedrooms and is designed beautifully with amazing water views and an array of unique items made by local craftsmen partnered with unusual and interesting fabrics. The effect is stunning. The staff is warm and friendly. The food delicious. The massages were top of the line. Activities such as snorkeling, scuba, swimming with whale sharks and visiting local temples were easy to arrange. We were fully engaged the whole week. To top it all off, the owners live nearby and were able to give us the inside tips on where to go and what to do. We loved every minute of it.
