Visiting from Nashville

Guest: Daniel (Nashville, TN)
Date of Stay: 08/05/11 Review Submitted: 08/09/11

We couldn't have been more pleased with this quiet and very peaceful getaway cabin. It was a pleasure to enjoy the scenic views, and even the rain on the tin roof as dusk settled in one night. The cabin is more than amply supplied with everything a couple or a couple with a small family might need. We slept in and ate in everyday. Susan was a wonderful help and source of information as was her husband, and I would highly recommend this cabin for it's peacefulness, uncluttered space, and scenic views. Most everything is just a short drive away...

Susan…thank you so much for sharing your mountain cabin…What a GREAT view from the front porch…Lisa and I spent two long weekends at this mountain cabin…it was wonderful…the owner made sure we had everything we needed and worked with us to schedule the dates we needed…the kitchen had all we needed, the living area was very comfortable, the bedrooms were upstairs which was good…we will be going back for other visits…we spent many hours on the front porch just talking and looking out across the valley and enjoying the quit and open space…mountain cabin is close to Waynesville with many good restaurants our favorite is Sweet Onion (Crab cakes are the best we have ever had)…again Susan thanks for sharing your mountain cabin with us…

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this romantic cabin. It's very clean, uncluttered, and had everything we needed! The view from the front porch is wonderful! The owners were very friendly and helpful in suggesting hiking trails and sights. We will definitely be back to stay here!

Date of Stay: 11/26/07 Review Submitted: 11/26/07

My family shared our Thanksgiving Holidays ('07)in this beautiful, cozy - comfortable cabin. We all agreed in the end that it was our best Thanksgiving ever. The house is so well furnished and supplied that I cannot think of a thing that needs be added or upgraded. The views from the front porch are almost unending and everchanging. There is great hiking right on the property and not too far away at Lake Junaluska there is a great 'flat' trail around the lake for a good aerobic workout. Waynesville has some great shops and restaurants and is only minutes away. The cabin is not, at this point, handicap accessible. The number of steps to climb was the only drawback for me, personally. But once you're at the top, it is so worth it! Our host could not have been more hospitable and helpful. We hope to visit in this cabin again and again.

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic week during July at this beautiful cottage in the mountains. It perches high in the trees with spectacular views from the front porch - sort of a treehouse like Swiss Family Robinson. It was so cool and night that we slept under a quilt. We found fantastic restaurants and shopping in nearby Waynesville; mineral water soaks in Hot Springs; and ready access to the Appalachian Trail for hiking. There's even a market in Clyde with fresh seafood deliveries daily. The kitchen in the cabin is well equipped with room for 2 or more cooks. We are already making plans to go back in the fall when the leaves turn and we can enjoy the fire. Our hosts were delightful and able to offer many tips on nearby shopping and restaurants.
