THE KITCHEN AND BATH HAVE BEEN EXTENSIVELY REMODELED, AND THERE ARE ADDED ENHANCEMENTS THROUGHOUT THE UNIT.
Our unit at Papakea is a one-bedroom, air-conditioned, ocean front condominium on the third floor of a four-story elevator building, located in the famous Kaanapali-West Maui resort area. Papakea has two oceanside pools with Jacuzzis and cabanas, and two putting greens. Free tennis is available on three lighted courts. The complex has free wireless Internet access available in all units. Our unit is oceanfront, not oceanview. It is right on the ocean and the view is one of the most beautiful on Maui.
The condo will sleep four. There is a queen-size bed in the bedroom, as well as a queen-size hide-a-bed in the living room. All linens are provided. There are a washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board in the condo. For your convenience, there is a safe in the bedroom closet.
The bathroom has a large granite vanity and sink and a beautiful, glass-enclosed, tile shower.
The kitchen is granite and complete with all cooking utensils and dishes, a full-size refrigerator, range, built-in microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal. Appliances such as a coffee-maker, toaster, and blender are also provided.
There is HD cable TV as well as a DVD player in the living room and a second TV in the bedroom. There is also a radio/CD/cassette player. Ceiling fans are in the bedroom and living room. Storage space is ample. The private lanai has a lounge chair, four chairs and a table for outside dining. Enjoy watching the Pacific, the spectacular sunsets and in season, the whales!

We have been coming to Maui for quite awhile. We love this island....In the past we have stayed at Papakea but have never been oceanfront. When my husband and I started looking for a place to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, we wanted oceanfront and your unit came up. We walked in, saw your awesome unit, opened the sliding glass door and instantly felt at home....Thanks for letting us stay in your awesome place. This is our fifth trip to Maui and stay at the Papakea, and by far one of the nicest condos. The view is so perfect it makes leaving difficult. I have always recommended the Papakea to friends and told them to get an Oceanfront unit. If you enjoy a fantastic waterfront view of whales, rainbows, crashing waves and other delights, this is a perfect place to let the world slip away. The unit has been fully remodeled and is extremely well equipped in the kitchen and overall. Enjoy staying at Papakea with its impeccable grounds, friendly staff, and access to any activities you might want. We do a lot of snorkeling off the beach about a mile south or head to Milemarker 14 south of Lahaina where it is calm even in stormy weather in this area. Owners are easy to work with and the local overseeing "maid" Kathy is simply the best! We've stayed in this unit four years straight for 2-3 weeks each time and it has been simply perfect for the two of us. A few minor things have arisen along the way but have been very promptly and totally dealt with. Location is perfect for walking to grocery shopping, ABC, farmer's market, video store, and various places to eat. Can walk almost 2 miles south on beach from this complex. Note: If you don't like crashing waves, you might not find this unit perfect in the winter months...we love it for shutting out the world and conversations below.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Any surprises (pleasant or otherwise)?"] We were only surprised that F-309 looked better than the pictures....This is the longest stay [we] have had at Papakea and we are so! glad we found F-309....This condo has it ALL. We would definitely like to rent the condo again....We love the location of your unit as it is central to everything on the property. My family & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely Papakea condo. It was comfortable, well appointed and had the most beautiful view of the Pacific. We so enjoyed being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves hitting the shoreline. And even though we were there in July, the breeze kept the condo so comfortable that we never had to turn on the a/c. All the amenities were great--from the full kitchen and in-unit washer & dryer to the ample supply of towels and even lawn chairs. My two sons (16 and 11) were very comfortable on the pull-out couch in the living room, and my husband & I enjoyed the privacy of the bedroom (with a real door you could close - not a pocket door like some places)! We hope to return again and stay longer!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
