We have a wonderful, spacious, 1903 restored, Victorian home, centrally located in Berkeley, close to the University of California at Berkeley campus, terrific restaurants, shopping, and cultural opportunities. Additionally, we have a newly rebuilt one bedroom architect designed artist's studio which rents separately (see description below).
The house boasts three spacious bedrooms, two and a half baths, light and airy interiors, including a dining room with an enormous Victorian dining table, living room with bay window and window seat, and a kitchen sitting area that overlooks our rear brick patio and garden. The home is furnished in good taste for comfort and aesthetics. Pets are NOT allowed, No Smoking. The shared garden is fully irrigated for zero-maintenance and pleasure to enjoy the bountiful plantings. Our shared small lawn is fun for croquet or badminton (provided). Both the deck and patio have tables for outdoor dining or sunbathing. (Sleeps 6-7)
Our newly built architect-designed artist's studio (WHICH RENTS SEPARATELY FOR $135/night), sleeps four - two in upstairs loft and two in sofa bed on main floor (a single mattress and Portacrib are also available). Overlooking the shared garden and patio, this stunning studio has a fully outfitted stainless steel/red enamel kitchen, bath with bamboo floors, glass shower with custom tiles, copper countertop w/hammered copper sink, and double skylights. French doors and large windows create a light and airy feeling with a southern exposure. The studio is supplied with free WiFi computer hookup, cable television, VCR and stereo. Bring your cell phone if you require phone service, as there is no telephone in the studio. NOTE: the sleeping loft is open, overlooking main floor with a safety railing, and the leather sofa bed is in the open downstairs area (there are no private "rooms" that can be closed with the exception of the bath).
Berkeley is rich in world-class restaurants (Chez Panisse, Bay Wolf, and more), the University of California and Berkeley Art Museum, Zellerbach Hall for cultural events, Lawrence Hall of Science, Tilden Park, as well as hiking, biking, lakes, children's activities, and a scenic hour's drive to the vineyards of the Napa/Sonoma Valleys. We are 20 minutes by car or Bart to San Francisco.
The house and studio are available year round. NOTE: These are both NON-SMOKING properties, and there is a two-night minimum stay. |
