Location: Kalkan, Turkey, Europe (One and a Three Quarters Hour Drive from Dalaman Airport.)
Accommodations: Villas, 5 Bedrooms, 5 Baths (Sleeps 8)
Villa Kaya consists of two fully furnished, luxury villas with 5 bedrooms in total, sharing the same garden and pool in the world famous Patara Prince Resort perched on the edge of the sea. It is almost impossible to find adequate words to describe the architectural beauty and elegance of the main villa created by one of Turkey's foremost architects. Enormous shady verandahs, private pool set in the garden overlooking the bay, a watch tower with unrivalled panoramic views over Kalkan's magical bay. The second, smaller two bedroomed villa provides wonderful, independent accommodation making an ideal combination for families wanting privacy, grandparents, friends etc. (It is not suitable for very young children because of the watch tower and because there is no shallow end in the private pool in the garden).
All guests have full use of The Patara Prince Resort facilities which are open in the main tourist season i.e. May to October. Reduced facilities are available at other times. Built in the style of a Lycian village with 24 hour security , PPR consists of privately owned villas, a charming hotel, three restaurants, four swimming pools, water sports and boating, spa, tennis courts and wonderful, secluded bathing platforms on the rocks at the foot of the complex. From here, you can dive into crystal clear sea water fed by springs and known as the best water in the Mediterranean. A 25% discount is available to all guests on food and drink.
A mere 15 minutes drive away is the famous Patara beach, voted by The Sunday Times as one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in the Mediterranean, with 18 km of white sand. Kalkan is a charming, friendly little town with unrivalled Turkish cuisine served mainly on roof top terraces by the 100 restaurants scattered through the cobbled streets.
Kalkan is located on the route of the Lycian Way, which offers walkers stunning scenery and many archaeological sites on its route. There are many ancient sites within easy reach of Kalkan including Xanthos, Pinara, Tlos and Patara. Further afield are the well known sites of Olympus, Kekova, Myra and Ephesus. The climate is ideal, 300 days sunshine a year and virtually no humidity.
