The Best of Puerto Morelos: Beautiful Ocean View Penthouse
- Minimum stay:N/A

- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This is a beautiful, spacious 1200 sq.feet condo,(the usual condo size is 800 sq.feet) designed by a talented local architect who lives on site and manages the property. It has stunning water views in the front and sunset views in the back. It is ideally situated in a quiet neighborhood within steps of the town's best beach and a comfortable walking distance (12 minutes) to the town square, via beach or road.
It is tastefully and elegantly furnished, not as a beach rental but as a home. There are two large bedrooms, one with sunrise ocean views and the other with jungle sunset vistas. Both have a large bathroom with marble tile, plentiful storage and shower. Each has a king-size bed which can be made into two twins. There are marble floors throughout and Corian countertops in the kitchen and baths. Lovely gardens surround a shamrock shaped pool with cabana and BBQ. There is offstreet gated parking. The unit is very bright, very quiet with lovely breezes throughout the day and night.
The kitchen is fully equipped, with microwave, self lighting stove, toaster, blender, new pots and pans, real glasses, dishes, silverware, a hot and cold potable water dispenser and large refrigerator. There is a seperate pantry with washer/dryer and storage. All rooms have air conditioning.
The architect/builder lives on site and maintains everything to the highest standards. There are just six condos in this quiet, well designed, well located complex. It is not only ideally situated within the town but also perfectly located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Both are just 20 miles away, in case you desire a change of pace. Also within walking distance is an exclusive small resort, Ceiba del Mar, (not a large All-Inclusive) that has a beautiful Spa and excellent cuisine. If you have any questions about the condo or the area, please call us at the number below or email us. We will be happy to provide further information and assist you with your vacation plans for Puerto Morelos, a place that we love and enjoy for its Mexican flavor, the wonderful Mayan people and its magnificent beaches.

Very comfortable and beautiful! We stayed three days at the end of our self guided 12 day auto trip around the Yucatan. Have a drink or a massage on the white sand beach. We really liked the snorkeling trip with Joaquin which Ramon set up for us. All gear was supplied. You must have a guide as the reef is protected. Pangea restaurant has great food and live music overlooking the harbor. Look for barbecued chicken (you can smell it) about three blocks from the center on the same street on which the condo is located. $100 MX for a whole chicken which they chop into eight pieces, tortillas, black beans, rice, and salsa. We took it back to our palapa for lunch. And another couple who were staying there had also brought the same lunch. What a coincidence.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We were coming back for our 3rd year for the month of March 2012 but have had to cancel due to the necessity of having surgery. This condo has everything you want and more. You feel right at home. The owners are great people. PM is a great little town, low key and no pressure. You can feel totally safe and relax. The owner told us the first year that we wouldn't be disappointed by renting without seeing the place and he was so right. There is hardly anyone on the beach at any given time except Sundays which is Family Day for the Mayan people (it's their only day off) and it is just magical to see how close these families are when they are all together. When you go for a walk on the beach on Sundays, it fills your heart with joy. The people are smiling and having so much fun with their families. There is a great beach bar just steps away on the beautiful beach. Our favorite restaurants are: La Cantina (best burgers and marguiritas), David Laus (Val's marguritas and chinese food) and El Pescador's (deep fried fish and salsa). There is something for everyone's appetite. Don't hesitate to go to PM and this condo, you won't regret it.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We wanted somewhere special in Puerto Morelos....and found it here at Sol y Luna, just a few steps from our gorgeous beach and turquoise blue Caribbean Sea. My husband and I live on the other side of the highway in Puerto Morelos. Due to some building work, we needed somewhere for our daughter and her partner to stay during the first part of their visit. It was the first time for one of them and coming from England we wanted somewhere with a "Wow factor" Firstly communication with the owners Karl and Rosvita was excellent. Each mail was answered by return, usually within 1 to 2 hours. One of our problems was arranging for payment, but even that was simplified by Karl allowing us to pay his caretaker, Ramon, locally, in local currency. This was a great weight off our minds. Ramon is very helpful and anything you might need, he is there and has it sorted in no time at all. The property is gorgeous. There is no other way to describe it....everything you might need was there and loads more! The balconies (4 in total) gave different views and depending on the time of day, you could see the sun coming up or setting. If you wanted fresh air, all you needed to do was open a few doors and you had a great breeze through the apartment. The bedrooms are spacious and both have en-suite bathrooms with large showers. The beds are very comfortable, a ceiling fan to keep you cool or air-conditioning if needed (in summer possibly). I could not believe it when I opened the kitchen cupboards....in fact I did wonder if I was in the right apartment! It was like going into my own kitchen. Everything you might need (condiments, oil-vinaigre, sugar...the list is endless). I need not have brought anything with me! It was already there. The drinks cupboard was also stocked! Thankfully we had brought our own, so were not tempted to drink the owners' stock! Although there was a little note in the folder inviting us to, if we wished! The fridge also had some groceries in it! Unbelievable! The water dispenser had an option for cold water; this is something I would love to have at home! We had use of internet and phone if we needed it and TV with lots of channels. For the outdoors, there were beach chairs and other beach furniture and games. We had a wonderful 4 nights and our only regret, was leaving this beautiful home and return to our humble abode. We surely will be back with or without friends or relations!... Thank you for allowing us use your lovely home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We just returned from Puerto Morelos and a week's stay in this beautiful condo. It had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. It looks just like the photos. Very clean and comfortable. It is a close walk to town. The owners answered our e-mails promptly and were very nice to deal with. The only possible drawback might be you may never want to leave. We hope to return. November, 2009Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: Rosvita and Karl live in Santa Fe, NM and are both therapists and coaches. We love the high desert climate and quiet of our town. We have vacationed often in Mexico and decided to buy in Puerto Morelos in 2005.
Why the Owner Chose Puerto Morelos:
We choose Puerto Morelos because it retains the sense of community which has often been lost as large developments encroached on town life. It remains an vibrant fishing village with wonderful friendly people, a gorgeous beach, many restuarants with varying cuisines and close proximity to Cancun and Playa del Carmen for those seeking a more active vacation.
