Serenity's Nest was named for the beauty and serenity I felt when I first visited. On the front porch are at least five undisturbed birds nest that yearly have new arrivals and can be viewed form the couch in the front room. In spring feedings may be viewed.
The peacefulness of the rivers edge offers a home to many wildlife species. I have viewed beavers, deer, raccoons, so many different birds, including the Blue herring, chipmunks, squirrels, and of course the fish that jump from the river and occasionally a turtle is spotted.
This cabin is a great place to bring your family for a great peaceful vacation, but yet close to the many activities that Houghton Lake area offers. Fishing from the riversedge can be great fun for the whole family, the evening campfire can be a relaxing way to end your day, or enjoy a late night snack, a hot dog or maybe a smore. Come and enjoy your home away from home at Serenity's Nest.
