Fairhaven, Massachusetts is a lovely seaside community on the shore of Buzzards Bay, directly across the harbor from the famed whaling port of New Bedford. Fairhaven is located halfway between Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island, affording vacationers access to the best of both worlds for day trips in all directions!
This beautiful, quaint ranch home was completely redone in 2006 and sits on three private oceanfront acres. Inside you will find a brand new, fully applianced kitchen, CENTRAL air conditioning, gas fireplace and big screen HDTV with built in DVD player. The master bedroom has a brand new queen-size bed. Bedroom two has new bunkbeds with a double-size bed below and a twin-size above. Bedroom three has a new twin bed with a pullout twin trundle below it. One full bath with shower/tub. Why the Owner Chose Fairhaven
Fairhaven, Massachusetts is a special community. It is an old whaling port, sitting on New Bedford Harbor. Oil tycoon Henry Huttleston built many of the town properties, including the town hall and high school, and their architecture is exquisite. Also, Fairhaven offers the tranquil environment of Cape Cod, but none of the Cape Cod traffic. It is central to both Cape Cod and Providence/Newport Rhode, offering a great jumping off point for any local day trips!
The Unique Benefits at this House
My favorite thing to do at this home is sit on the back covered deck and drink my coffee as I watch the fishing boats and Martha's Vineyard ferries steam in and out of New Bedford Harbor. Also, because the Sconticut Neck area is mostly protected conservation area, the chance to see varied wildlife is terrific.
Beautiful, sandy public beach. Parking in lot is $5, but street parking is allowed.
Free Public Beach with public restrooms, toddler playground, tennis courts, and more.
Public bike path runs along an old abandoned railroad bed from the top of Sconticut Neck Road all the way to Fairhaven Center.
Owner's Map of Fairhaven
Mike and Debbie Smoske live within 1 hour of this beachfront property. This home has been in Mike's family for many years. When ownership passed to Mike in 2006, major renovations where begun to make this truly a relaxing and inviting environment. In fact, Mike and Debbie hope to retire here within the next ten years. This home is full of happy memories for Mike and Debbie, their two teenage children, and their extended family.
