BEST DEAL is the name of our house and is located in beautiful and prestigious Kinnekeet Shores (top development in Avon and Hatteras Island.) Our rental prices are substantially lower than most houses on the island because we, the owners, live nearby in Avon and maintain the house ourselves. We are pet and kid friendly, just minutes from the Kinnekeet Swim and Tennis Club(3-5 minute walk) If you have four-wheel drive, you can go on the south ramp at the end of Avon and drive and park on the beach. We are also just 3-5 minutes from the shopping center which is home to Food Lion, the only major chain grocery store on the island. We also have many wonderful restaurants right in Avon, Buxton, and Hatteras Village. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is located in Buxton (8 miles from Avon)and is a great place to visit, as well as Okracoke Island, which can be reached by taking a toll-free ferry from Hatteras Village to Okracoke. The physical address is 41623 Starboard Drive, Avon, NC 27915.
Our house is an eclectic blend of beach and antiques. In addition, we have loads of original art to contemplate. The bedrooms have a king bed, and 2 queen. Our views are great..Sunsets are spectacular! We are on the sound side of Kinnakeet Shores and have 3 porches. Bring your sheets and towels! Have a great vacation and don't pay a fortune!

The house is much better than anticipated based on the priced and pictures posted on VRBO. The housing community was beautiful, the location was excellent, and the owner easy to work with. Recommended for groups six and under. We had six adults and we fit fine, but there was not room for more. This is not a mulit-million dollar mansion like others in The Outer Banks, but it is very comfortable and clean. Everything you need and more. It's a homey space.

My husband and I arrive September 30, 2011 we stayed for the week...the house was wonderful...location great. Couldn't have asked for a better vacation!! We would recommend this home to anyone wanting to travel to the OBX.

Beach trip June 2011

We stay in this rental in June 2011. The location was accurate but not all the photos relect the rental's appearance and amenities. Our visit found the house not be be clean or well maintained in fact we had to spend half of our first day doing just that cleaning the entire house. The owner was nice enough to refund our money regarding the cleaning but did not offer to send someone in to do it for us. All the sliding glass doors did not have locks on them but had wood blocks so they could not be opened unless removed not always good when you have young children under the age of 7. The location was awesome, pool was awesome, the lay out of the house was nice. I just think it needs some TLC. We would recommend The Captain's Table for dinner, the Lighthouse is always a great trip and would never leave the island without going to the Gray House in Buxton.

My family and I have been here 3 times and will be done for a 4th in July. We have a big family with lots of kiddos and we have a great time every single time. This house is close to everything you need and want. Betty is an amaxing person to deal with. So friendly and has a works in a wonderful pottery studio(studio12) and we make pottery every year. The kids talk about the beach house all year round. Thanks for such wonderful memories.

We had a great time at Betty's house. The house is very eclectic and cozy, near a nice lake and close to the ocean (1/2 mile). It is also close to a food lion, which is very convenient. Betty as an owner is very easy to work with; we accidentally broke her cutting board and she was very gracious and kind about it. A great host.

This house is comfortable, fully equipped, and near some the Outer Banks best beaches and away from the most crowded area. We liked the eclectic art and lived-in atmosphere. Like all area houses it is 3 levels so be ready for stairs. Owner was cooperative. House was clean. We would go back anytime.

We really enjoyed this unique house. The sunsets from the deck were awesome and the house was like being in some one's home. The owner is very nice and worked with us on our dates of arrival and departure. If you want the comfort of home and great Kinakeet Shores location this is a great house to rent.
