After 5 years of looking for the perfect condo, my daughter found MKV 289 while browsing the VRBO website.  From our first contact with Joe & Gina, it has been an incredible experience, and we have looked forward to returning for our annual mother/daughter trip for the past 4 years.   We just completed our annual visit and have decided this year to return in 5 months for our second stay in MKV 289.  A year is just too long to wait to return to this bit of paradise that Joe & Gina so generously allow us to share.  The condo, which is immaculate,  is exactly as described and pictured with every amenity possible.  From the pillow top bed, linens, kitchen appliances, bath & rainfall shower, beach chairs & toys  ... everything is FIRST CLASS.  There is not a thing you could need that they have not thought about and provided. The location is perfect. The beach and pool are only a few steps away and a short walk in either direction takes you to a variety of restaurants and shops.  Without hesitation, I urge anyone looking for the perfect spot to stay during a Maui visit, to see if this is available.  You will not be sorry! Aloha!

We love the Kaanapali area and have stayed in the Villas in the past, however, our holiday experience in this unit was by far the best. The Owners are quite accommodating and make a guest feel at home. The unit is very comfortable, well equipped, clean and tastefully decorated. And the bed ... it's excellent. In my books, that goes a long way to making the difference between a good holiday and a great one. Really, really enjoyed and appreciated the use of the washer and dryer in the unit, versus the alternative of going to the on site laundry room ... been there! The Resort is beautiful, well maintained, and the ocean is sooo close. Loved the Beach Walk, both directions, did it everyday. Very many great restaurants within walking distance. All in all, a great stay. We would highly recommend this unit and we will definitely be back. Mahalo!

Our Ka'anapali Honeymoon

I am writing this review while sitting on the lanai overlooking the pool with the ocean in short distance in the background. When my wife and I were planning this trip, we looked at many many websites, hundreds of reviews, and listened to a lot of advice from friends whom have visited Hawaii. We decided on Maui and thought we would like to stay in a place where we would have great views and facilities to prepare meals on our own. This condo satisfied both of those things. The photos posted on this website are nice, but the place is truthfully better in person. The condo is tastefully decorated throughout. We have a similar color pallette in our home, which helped to make us feel very "at home" here. The condo is well-equipped with everything needed to live comfortably. We had the opportunity to walk through a number of area resorts, via the beachwalk, and neither of us felt like we would rather have stayed anywhere else. As we are near to the end of our vacation, I can tell you that we would want to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay here, and would love to go back soon. The location is perfect. The beach is only steps away, the condo had beach chairs, scuba equipment, etc. There is a cafe where we had breakfast every morning. The condo is small, but very comfortable for two people. The furnishings and appliances are all beautiful. We couldn't have asked for more! I would recommend this condo, and when we go back to Maui, I would not go anywhere else.

The only negative about this entire experience is that at one point "you have to leave!" The condo is absolutely the nicest and most up to date condo I've ever stayed in. The views are gorgeous and the location is perfect. You will want for nothing, pool, ocean, Castaways restaurant and bar. At night the tiki torches come alive and your island experience becomes magical! Sitting on the lanai you can hear the luau each night next door which makes it that much better. The beach is perfect, no rocks, and a great place to swim as the waves are not big and just enough to play in and have fun. I will recommend Kaanapali Villas to everyone I talk to and definitely recommend they try to get this unit in particular. The owners are very helpful with lots of information and you can tell that they have so much pride in their beautiful second home and I'm so glad they are willing to share it with some lucky people, like me!. We will definitely be back......... Aloha!

Our honeymoon experience

We stayed at this condo for 10 days. It was absolutely beautiful. It was so quiet and relaxing. The beach was literally footsteps away, and walking on the beach at sunset is something we will never forget. The location of this condo couldn't be better. It is conveniently located close to all the other surrounding hotels and restaurants. Also, while we were there, we met some really nice people. Everyone was so friendly and nice. The condo is furnished perfect for it's location. Even inside, we felt like we were in paradise. All the upgrades were wonderful and unique. The bed was also amazingly comfortable, and the shower was so neat! The view is amazing. We could see everything. The pool, ocean, and trees. Sitting outside on the balcony eating breakfast watching the ocean is something we will never forget. Another neat thing the complex offers is that you can rent your snorkel gear right by the pool area. However, on the balcony there was already snorkel gear provided for us to use by the owners which was a really neat, as well as pool floaties. We will definitely be coming back here. The condo felt like a home away from home with the perfect vacation feel. Staying here made our honeymoon an experience we will never forget!

We just returned from staying a week at the Rabow condo.....the condo is beautiful! Everything that Joe promised......we had a great and relaxing vacation. The wood-work and bathroom are spectacular!! We would love to stay at this condo again..... Thanks again Gina and Joe!!!

Joe and Gina your condo is fantastic! The location is spectacular with the picture card perfect view from the lanai. The furnishings are lovely and the unit is very well fitted with great appliances and fixtures. We love to walk and the Kaanapanali Beach Walk is right there inviting you to get out. We can't wait to go back next January!

This condo was exceptional! We have rented on numerous occasions through VRBO, in various locations, and this place is the best by far. The owners were great and were easy to get in touch with if we had any questions. The condo is definitely above average. They have put a lot of "extras" into this place and it shows! Top notch! I thought the pictures were too good to be true. I thought something this nice could not REALLY be available so late in the year. I am pleased to say the pictures are real and the owners had a cancellation we were able to take advantage of and I am very pleased we did. I agree with all the nice and wonderful things said by the reviewers. I had concerns about the condo because the Maui Kaanapali Villas were built in the 1970's and I thought the overall property would be dated. It does have a 70's designs, but is highly maintained, the condo was very quiet because of the thick cement walls and a second floor view from the Lanai while having breakfast or drinks is hard to beat. The owners checked in to see how were were doing and even though I was highly skeptical about the late availability and the quality of the condo--they were not overselling it. It is a GEM and it is availabe when they say it is available--which makes them just the type of folks you want to rent a Maui condo from. I wish all VRBO owners were as good. The condo is nicely decorated with art pieces that are tasteful, if not expensive. The cabinetry and furnishing are all luxury level. The bathroom is a luxury all by itself. The bedroom is small--it is a room with a bed and that is about all there is room for, but I liked it better than a true studio style condo with no walls. So the trade-off works well. This unit is perfect for a couple. I think it is likely one of the nicest, least crowded beach resorts in the area. We will go back to this unit--anything else would probably be a disappointment.

Thank you Joe and Gina for allowing us to enjoy your lovely condo. What a great view! We could not have asked for a better place to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We made out Christmas cards on the lanai one morning. Talk about a first for us at that time of year. We would definitely rent this unique condo again if we had the chance. Thanks so much for your hospitality before and during our stay. Wish we were there!!!! Its very cold and snowy here.

Beautiful condo, everything is upscale, great view, beautiful grounds, well maintained. Very well equipped, everything we wanted was here, even scotch tape. Right on the beach, we didn't have to get in a car and drive to go snorkeling. The Castaway restaurant on the premises has great food. Whalers Village is an easy walk of less than a mile. Joe called after we arrived to welcome us and make sure everything was to our satisfaction, and then called again the day we left to say goodbye. We enjoyed having a separate bedroom and look forward to renting again. Thank you Joe & Gina, for helping to make our 50th Wedding Anniversary Special.

Your place was unreal! Everything was perfect for our honeymoon and it was because we stayed in your condo! It was beautifully decorated, located in the best part of Maui, and it provided us with easy access to many of Maui's attractions. This was truly the perfect place to stay for our 20th anniversary! Your place is decorated so beautifully and feels so much like home! The view is spectacular! We have had the great opportunity of visiting both Maui and Kaui a combined 30 times. We have always rented condos and in recent years have always stayed a minimum of 2-3 weeks. In May we met the Rabow's while we were staying in another unit on the property. The Villa property has gone through a beautiful renovation including the pool and greenbelt area around the complex. The unit itself is the most beautiful condo unit we have stayed in all our trips to the islands. It is magnificantly furnished with all the amenities and perfect attention to detail. Tile floors throughout, beautiful cabinets, Walk-in shower, separate bedroom, creative fans, granite counters in the kitchen with all the latest utilities. Built in washer/dryer, flat screen TV's in both the living room area and the bedroom. In addition, there is the million dollar view. You look out over the pool and at the ocean with Molokai in the background. You can watch the sunsets every evening. We have truly found our home away from home when we are in the islands!!!

Awesome Studio/1 Bedroom. Three minutes to beach-two minutes to pool. Ten minutes to Whalers Village, a super walk along the beach walk and golf course. This unit commands a 10 on a scale of 1-10. We had a great 11 day stay and will return.

This is an incredible place to stay! It’s beautifully decorated, comfortable, and minutes away from the best Maui has to offer! I enjoyed sitting out on the Lanai and lying out by the pool just as much as I enjoyed hiking, ziplining, and scuba diving. There are shopping centers, great restaurants, and fantastic luaus all within walking distance. My stay was the most relaxing vacation I’ve had in years. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Maui, and I will definitely refer my friends!
