The penthouse studio at the Whaler is in great condition. Granite/stainless kitchen, modern bath, comfortable bed, nice furnishings; ample towels, linens, pillows, etc. Unit is on the sunny side of the building so you get exellent views of Lanai, the coast and sunsets. We had two adults and it is a very spacious studio for two. Only possible negative is you do get some noise from Whalers Village during business hours but nothing but ocean waves after everything closes down. Resort is managed by Aston, so if you need any hotel/resort type things they are there for you (salon, spa, workout room, pool towels, beach toys, concierge, bellman, etc). This is one of the best locations, right on Kaanapali Beach - no need to get in your car for snorkeling (Black Rock), surfing, dining - at least 20 restaurants and both Luau's (Hyatt and Royal Lahiana) are all within a 10 minute walk on the beach. Reservations with the owner; check-in / check-out were all easy. Great place to stay - have been to Hawaii and Maui over a dozen times and will certainly see if this unit is available for our next Maui tripRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

My wife and I just returned from a week in this property and had a wonderful time. The owner was responsive and great to work with. The condo is actually better than the pictures and a perfect size for the two of us. We especially enjoyed sitting on the lanai multiple times each day---morning with coffee watching the sun rise and the last thing each evening.The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare many of our own meals and when we wanted to go out it was easy to get to several great places to eat along the beach. Hula Grill and Leilani's were our favorites. There is so much to do in the area around the Whaler that we never turned on the TV!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We've stayed at the Whaler for over 15 years!!! We wouldn't stay anywhere else!!! LOCATION really is everything. My husband lives for the mornings when he can drink his Starbucks coffee out on the lanai and read his favorite book with the beautiful view. The entire crew at the Whaler is enjoyable! You are just a hop, skip, and jump to our favorite restaurants - Hula Grill & Leilani's!!! You can book any special activities including amazing whale watch trips through the activities kiosk by the pool. You will NEVER regret staying at the Whaler.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We have rented this unit for a number of years, and our experience, has been one of the greatest in terms of vacation that we ever experienced. The description of this loction is very accurate as descibed in this listing. The views from the unit are outstanding. The unit is kept extremely well, and dealing with the owner, has been a pleasure. We have recommended this unit to a number of friends, relatives, and aquaintences. Activities, such as snorkeling, boat tours, whale watching tours. Restaurants such as Hula Grille, Leilani's, Taro, as well as numerous hotel restaurants are on the beach, and walking distance from the unit. If you decide to stay in this unit, we believe it will be a memorable stay in the most beautiful beach in Maui.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

Nicely updated unit with great views! Close to beach, shops and restaurants. Three great Weber grills are available to tenants of The Whaler complex, they are outside the building near the beach and walkway just outdie the doors on the NW corner of building. We enjoyed the tennis courts as well! Try the Pork sandwhich at Cane & Taro’sRecommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We have owned this unit since The Whaler was built, our family thinks of it as our own "little piece of paradise". We have just done a complete renovation and are now open again for rentals.
