The Mauna Kea Resort and Hapuna Prince Hotel Amenity Package is available with rental of this condo as the owners are full members of the Mauna Kea Golf and Country Club. With your guest Amenity Cards you will enjoy the lowest hotel rates on golf & tennis, the use of hotel fitness centers and spa, and access to hotel pools and beaches including lounge chairs, umbrellas, and towels provided by resort staff. In fact, the guests of this rental play the Hapuna Golf Course for $50 per person!
Enjoy warm days and cool evening breezes in this 2100 square foot condominium with panoramic ocean views. Much of the rich, colorful decor is from travels throughout the Far East. 5. The location on the island has some of the best weather. Most days are sunny and dry. 4. Best beaches in Hawaii or anywhere. The Hupuna Beach and Mauna Kea beachs are absolutely beautiful. 3. Views from the condo are expansive. Watching the whales breach while eating breakfast or BBQing on the balcony is amazing. 2. Golf. Hapuna golf course at $55 is an amazing value. The fairways and greens are immaculate. 1. The hot tub, infinity pool and private outdoor shower reminds me of why I love this place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is our second stay at this wonderful condo, and we have already requested dates for our third stay! We absolutely love the upscale and comfortable feel of this condo, and particularly enjoy the prime location with all the amenities. The owners keep this place spotless and beautifully decorated - we feel right at home! Another great stay at Larry and Julie's Wai Ula Ula villa. This is our second visit to their property. Where do I begin??? Great view, great 3 bedroom floor plan, beautiful furnishings, attentive hosts. Don't hesitate to book this villa. Its a winner.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.

The pictures of this gorgeous condo do not do it justice! We just arrived home tonight from a wonderful, 8 night stay in this beautiful condo in Wai 'ula 'ula. From the moment we arrived til the time we left this morning, everything about the condo and the community, location, etc exceeded our expectations. The convenient location, between the Hapuna Prince hotel and the Mauna Kea hotel, made it easy for our family to enjoy the luxurious beaches, as well as being an easy driving distance from restaurants, groceries, shopping, hiking, scenery, and island landmarks. This condo has every amenity you could possibly want for a relaxing Hawaiian getaway. My family stayed at this property over the Xmas holidays 2011. It was perfect for us. The unit is in immaculate condition, has all the creature comforts of a luxury apt, and is very spacious. We also like the flexibility to go to the Mauna Kea beach/pool/gym or the Hapuna Prince beach/pool/gym. I highly recommend this property for families who don;t want to stay in a hotel, be cramped in a 400 sf room and eat out 3 meals per day. The logistics were seamless and we'd stay here again next year and refer people to this property. Excellent!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

This was our first, and certainly, not our last time staying at a condo and it couldn't have been more lovely. Our collective jaws dropped when we entered the front door...this is really such a beautiful and spacious place! The convenience ot the two nearby resorts with their fabulous beaches just added to it all. I would highly recommend it!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoy adding occasional touches of red to the color scheme – our latest additions are watercolors from our travels in China. The large painting of the Yangtze River above the great room TV was painted on a river-cruise by the ship’s artist and calligrapher who’s also a master at kung fu and gymnastics!

This condo provides 5 star amenities including state of the art appliances, wonderful furnishings with beautiful décor, large comfortable rooms with equally comfortable beds and a patio that provides a spectacular view of palm trees and the ocean. The location is ideal as the condo is a 5 minute walk to the community pool and situated on a beautiful golf course. Some of the best beaches in the country are a 5 minute drive away. The owners pride in this condo is evident in every aspect. You WILL NOT be disappointed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the lovely comments! It’s very important to us that our guests are comfortable – we are very picky when choosing furnishings, keeping style and comfort always in mind. The chaise part of the sofa is always a favorite spot to kick back and read or watch the 52” TV. A new ottoman for the chairs and also large floor pillows (handmade with Hawaiian fabrics!) fill out the comfort zone in the great room. And the beds HAVE to be comfortable, when you’ve got a full day ahead of you of golf, or tennis, or hiking, or beaching, or even hula dancing lessons!

Everything was as good or better than advertised. Mauna Kea beach is amazing - best beach in Hawaii. Hapuna Prince Golf course was fun to play and was not busy midweek. The photos don't do this place justice - it is nicer in person. Perfect setup for a family. Kitchen has everything you need to cook and eat in if you don't feel like a restaurant everyday. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the Big Island.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you for renting us your home in Wai ula ula. We had a fabulous time. The weather was great, the unit is spacious and very luxurious. Judging from the decor, you have traveled extensively. Both Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince hotels have much to offer; beautiful beaches and great facilities. We loved the exclusive catamaran trip from the Mauna Kea; only 12 people. We saw a pod of about 300 spinner dolphins that just made the trip more special. Hope we can get back to the Big Island some day. Mahalo.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: We are a happily retired couple from Northern California. We love to travel and play golf and tennis - spending winters on the Big Island gives us the ability to do both, without leaving home!
Why the Owner Chose Mauna Kea:
Our dream to have a home on the Big Island came true with our purchase of this beautiful oceanview condo in Wai'ula'ula at the Mauna Kea Resort. The sunsets here are gorgeous and the pool and fitness center are close by and fabulous. The nine world class golf courses nearby and the spectacular tennis facility at the Mauna Kea Hotel made our decision a no-brainer!!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Every morning we take the short stroll to the fitness facility, pool and hot tub - literally just a few steps from our condo. Larry swims and works out while watching sports on the TVs mounted on reclining bikes, ellipticals, and treadmills. He then heads to the hot tub, and takes a warm rinse in the private outdoor shower (separate men's and women's outdoor showers).
Julie enjoys a different morning routine, sunning on a comfy lounge chair by the pool, shaded by palm trees while reading her Kindle and sipping coffee brought from home. Our unit is the closest one to the fitness/pool area, so we often feel like we have the whole place to ourselves!
Later in the day, we golf, play tennis, or explore the nearby towns of Waimea, Hawi, and Kapa'au. And of course we enjoy long walks on the beaches at Hapuna and Mauna Kea. Opportunities abound to enjoy Hawaiian music and culture - and we love to share an evening of music and dance at the Blue Dragon Musicquarium nightclub just 3 miles away in Kawaihae!
Of course, our other favorite evening in Hawaii is a quiet one at home: sharing a cool drink on the lanai while watching the sunset, and then enjoying dinner, often with friends. The condo complex has a very calm, quiet atmosphere, the perfect place for a relaxing get-away.
