Spent 4 nights in this cabin which is better than what most of the resorts provide. The cabin resides in a secluded area just down the road from LOW. We came in late and left early, the owner is very accomodating and knowlegable about the lake. I have stayed in many places throughout the Midwest and you will be hard pressed to find a better value and for fisherman, better fishing. You have Rainy River right outside the front door and LOW just down the road with all the resorts and restaurants and fishing charters. I will be booking again.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+.

We have a group of 10 guys most come from Arkansas every year to fish a different part of Minnesota. This year we chose Brian's place on the Rainy River at the Lake of the Woods. It was by far the best place we have stayed in the 10 years we have been doing "Fish Camp". Brian the owner is very helpful and very nice (Minnesota Nice). He told us where we should fish and what to fish with and guys who have never fished walleyes caught fish.The cabin is a true up north cabin very clean and very comfortable. You could sit on the deck enjoy a beer or two or three watch the eagles, otters, deer, and ducks going up and down the river. There was nothing bad about the cabin but the fact you have to leave. Brian has the set-up. This cabin screams "let's go fishing!" This is the bomb diggity. If you are going fishing in this area, give Brian a call and book, you will not be disappointed. We have stayed at this cabin year after year and LOVE it. The guys come up from Texas which used to live in MN and have a great time. Oh, I forgot to tell you about the fishing............fantastic! Also go have a beer at the Igloo. It is a bar right on the lake by Zipple Bay, crazy! See ya next year. TM from Sauk

Brian, Just got back from our second annual stay with you on the Rainy River from Jan 9th to the 18th. Been going to LOW for many years and am so glad to have finally found our home away from home. We plan on coming back for many years to come. Caught and ate lots of fish, and everyone took a limit home. Lots of snow this year, so we had to brave the -40 degree temps in portables to get on the fish. Great place, great location and great owner. See you in Jan 2010. A great place to getaway from everything and relax. Besides the good fishing, the beautiful scenery, we saw several majestic Bald Eagles and deer. We will be back!

After 7 years of coming to Lake of the Woods/Rainy River, we finally found our home away from home. Great location - close to some really good river fishing yet only a few minutes to the bay and Light House gap. Made our reservations for next year already.

It was a great place. My family decided to take our summer vacation in Minnesota, and staying in Baudette did not disappoint. It was peaceful and beautiful and all of it was from the back deck of the house. I would highly recommend this place.
