This is my fifth time renting this home. I love this place! I've rented it for a girl weekend away, family vacation and a quiet romantic getaway with my husband. The home is very clean and affordable. It's accessible to both the downtown and the beach. The home has charm and the beds are comfortable as well. The price is a steal!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband, 18-month old, and in-laws spent last week at this house and just loved it. The outside is just as cute as the inside and is very well maintained. We were able to carry our son on the short walk to the beach and push him in a stroller to Kids Korner every morning. We had lunch downtown almost daily and walked there and back as well. The three bedrooms were perfect - we stayed in the room with the curtained french doors and had plenty of privacy. The kitchen was clean and well-appointed and there was plenty of seating, including a beautiful dining room with a giant hard wood table. We loved having a washer and dryer on site as well as a grill and backyard space. The owner's welcome letter provided so much good information and having her mom around the block (and involved in the key exchange) added a very nice personal touch. The only thing that would make this 100% perfect (versus 99%) would be a dishwasher. (: We look forward to returning next year!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

Superior Street Bungalow and St. Joseph Street "Big House"

We (my family of about 27 people) spent probably the best week of the summer so far in South Haven at the Superior Street Bungalow and at the "Big House" (as we call it) on St. Joseph St. Two families rented a home on another street. The homes were clean, bright, kid-friendly, fully stocked, and ready for families to enjoy a week of family togetherness. We had most evening meals at the 'Big House" in the large yard. The kids (15 sometimes) ate outside and the adults ate either at the huge dining room table in air-conditioned comfort or out in the yard, seated in the many lawn chairs provided. If you are looking for family fun, with plenty of what it takes to provide for that, I highly recommend the Broden homes...cottages. You can have family togetherness while at the same time, have quiet time away at any of many close by activities. Access to the beach is perfect...not too close for worry but close enough for quick access while providing a little much needed exercise getting back home. Trips to town, day or night, DQ or shopping, are exciting and fun, providing just a long enough walk for the kids to tire them enough to hit the sack soon upon arriving back home. we had a super week, as always, but even better this year due to the wonderful weather. Thankk you Jo and John.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We have stayed at this property for about 5 years. It is an excellent value. The landlords are extremely easy to deal with and very responsive. It is close to the beach and very clean. There are consistent upgrades every year. This year we really enjoyed the "wireless" addition.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
